Cannot locate Burner Software

Ok. So, I installed new Itunes...Now, it says "Registry Settings used by Itunes driver for importing, burning are missing. this can happen as a result of installing other CD Burn Software. Please re-install Itunes"
Here is what I have done so far:
(1)I used Microsoft Fixit for my CD Drive. It has now made my drive invisible to Itunes and Roxio.
(2)I removed both Itunes and Roxio software and reinstalled. Still cannot locate CD/DVD Drive.
(3)I tried regedit that Apple suggest, however, I do not have files UpperFilters and Lowerfilters on the screen. I followed all 10 steps and its not there.
Anyone have any ideas?

no I didn't see the upper / lower, I am not computer oriented to mess with the regestry, I am amazed apple have not said a word about this update, it sure makes you think about buying thier products in the future, but then again all the big companies are now the same way, take a look at the Blu-ray nonsense in the last couple of years with firmware updates every month just play a movie!

I believe the included disk had you go online to Canon and get updated drivers from there. This is important as the newest driver seems to have a fix for problems with the printer and OSX Lion.

ITunes cannot locate my burner software, and I have the latest update....

I have operated iTunes for many years, and this is a first. The new update cannot locate my burner software. What to do?

I'm on hold to apple support right now, Michael, to ask a similar question. I was able to back up itunes and mail, but no documents either in pages or in word. what are you doing? Fred

"Cannot Find CD Burner or Burning Software"

I'm trying to burn a mix that I've made in iTunes 7.2 . I click the "Burn CD" in the bottom right hand corner of the window, and it reads up at the top that it cannot locate my CD burner or the burner software.
One interesting thing I've noticed is that when I inserted the blank CD, it was not recognized by iTunes. So when I went into the preferences to check which drive it was sending the data to, it had the correct device.
This is not the first time it's happened with programs outside of iTunes. My Iomega HotBurn is not working either. I do have Daemon Tools installed and drives mounted, which is probably where the problem is, but the friend who recommended Daemon Tools said that his computer has been burning discs just fine with Daemon Tools loaded on.
Please help ASAP.

Thank you for your prompt reply. Unfortunately I am not that tech oriented and
cannot easily find that folder. I did notice when I was booting up the LR software
that I could accept the site where LR usually is set up or choose a place. I am
thinking that the standard location for LR software is corrupted and that if I
chose a different place it would work. I say this because whether I use my
original disc or download from adobe I get the same warning. I have 100GB of
memory on the hard drive and I have cleaned the computer with Mcaffee and free
software. What should I do next? I can't use this software and I doubt LR 5
would open up with my current problem.

the ".rm" extension is created by 'Real Media' application.
The easiest way to use it is to install the 'Real Media' player:
1. RealPlayer BBC.app
2. RealPlayer 12.app
I have both installed & use them sometimes.
(The 'BBC' wersion doesn't have any adverts with-in the app.)

I am trying to install cx-oracle so that i can use the Django framework with an oracle database. but when i try to install it, it gives me this error

any help would be greatly appreciated. i think maybe Oracle database 10g express edition didn't install correctly or something. but i have reinstalled it like 3 times now and it hasn't made any difference.

i did install Oracle Database XE 10g. but i just want cx_oracle so i can use an oracle database with the Django framework. kind of like JDBC in java. The original serial number should be in the box with the installer disk.
If you cannot locate the serial number, contact Apple for a replacement serial number. You will need to provide a proof of purchase.

P.S. The menu command "Aperture > About Aperture" will show you your Aperture 3 serial number on your old mac, but not the previous serial numbers.

Macbook pro cannot find CD burn software?

Hi, I have a SuperDrive and just want to burn a CD from iTunes playlist but it can't find the burn software? It the latest MBP so it 'should' be there, no?

There is no seperate burn software. iTunes will burn the CD for you.

Error from iTunes Setup Asst -- iTunes cannot locate the CD Config folder

It says: iTunes cannot locate the CD Configuration folder, so you cannot import or burn CDs and DVD's. This folder must be in the same directory as iTunes.
Because of space issues, I moved iTunes to run off of a portable hard drive (it's a silver iomega 100 GB drive, if it matters). I had to uninstall and reinstall iTunes and import the old library into iTunes to get it to work, but now it's giving me the error.
I just imported music from a disc, so that works actually, but when I try to burn a disc, it says "disc burner or software not found." I'm flummoxed.

Alternative burning software to iDVD?

I am just figuring out that there is NO new version of iDVD and as a longtime Mac owner running OS10.6.8, I am in search of an alternative software for burning DVDs. Is there something in the mac App store that you can recommend?
Reading reviews just seems to indicate there is not a GREAT replacement for iDVD, which seems to always give me error messages of late.
After reading through a number of threads in search of a solution to my error msgs. I have tried looking for the "plist" file to delete that is suggested elsewhere, but I cannot locate it. So, i am going to try downloading a new burning software from App Store. Thanks !

I suggest you stick with iDVD. It still runs fine on the latest OS versions. As you've already read there's nothing available that can come close to iDVD for versatility and ease of use.
If you don't have a copy you can get one by purchasing a copy of the iLife 09 disk from a 3rd party retailer like Amazon.com or eBay.com.

After updating my iphone 3G to ios 6, I have lost all of my contacts and my picture. How do I get them back and where do I find them? I cannot locate them on my daughters pc and I have no idea where they are. I chose backup to cloud when I did the update.

I have not updated my iPhone 3G since 2010 as I do not have a computer and have to use my daughters pc. She plugged in my phone to update through iTunes (which took all night) and in the morning it was completed. We backedup to the icloud but now mu pictures and contacts are missing. We cannot locate my contacts on icloud or on the phone.
How do I locate my missing contacts and put them back ON MY PHONE. I had over 150 contacts with information like phone numbers, birthdays, and anniversaries.
Do I need to restore the phone? Are they on the cloud?????
