Cannot log in to email

Hi, when I try to log into verizon.net for email, I cannot get the log-in window to load.  This is only happening on my at-home network.  I am able to log in at work and on my android phone.  How can I check my network in order to diagnose the problem?  AS

  • Update 10.5.6 Cannot log into POP email account

    After the upgrade to 10.5.6 I cannot log into my email account anymore. I get a message saying that the mail server does not recognize user or password. My wife has an account with the same provider and it works, however, when she tried to create a test account with the same information she gets the same behavior. Additionally I cannot see any of the email previously stored locally, the folders are there but they are empty. Any help would be appreciated

    PS. We have tried deleting the plist in Preferences and a few other things suggested in this discussion thread already, nothing works.

    This issue may be closed.
    The correct account information was entered, but the preferences file (com.apple.mail.plist) was freshly saved upon closing Mail, ie., the original, corrupt Mail preferences file was retained, so Mail would not connect to the account.
    When I closed Mail and deleted the preference file (com.apple.mail.plist) Mail was then able to connect to my account and download. I was also able to Import email from a previous version of OS X and this mail was imported to an "Import" folder.

  • HT4484 My email was phished, so I deleted it and changed it completely.  Now all the apps that I downloaded with the old email cannot update because I cannot log into that email.  Mountain Lion is compatible with the new updated iPhoto.  what can I do?

    My email address was phished and I had to delete it completely.  That was the one I used to download all my original apps on my computer.  I have since changed to a new address, but since my apps were under the old one, I cannot update them without logging into the old address.  It no longer exists....so how do I fix this? 
    Some of the apps I don't really care about updating but, I did download the new Mountain Lion and it wants to update my iphots and I can't do it.

    When you say you deleted your email and changed it completely, those are actually two different things, and it sounds like you are talking about your Apple ID, not just your email, (because you speak of making purchases with it).
    If you changed your Apple ID (preferred, How to change the name you use for your Apple ID), then you would not have another Apple ID and all of your purchases would still be with your only Apple ID, it would just be renamed to your new email address.
    If you instead created a new Apple ID (with a different email address) then of course you have two different Apple IDs and the old one still exists and is probably active. Just because you may not use an email address anymore, that doesn't mean an Apple ID of the same name is inactive, Apple IDs aren't deleted.  If you start purchasing Apps with your new Apple ID, it can really cause confusion because, as you see, you need to be logged into the Apple ID that purchased an App to update it. It would be best to stick with one Apple ID for purchases, probably the one you have spent the most money with.  Remember, unless it's an @mac or @me Apple ID you can rename them rather than creating yet another Apple ID.  Since Apple IDs can't be merged or deleted, creating more can be a messy.
    If you don't remember what the password is for a particular Apple ID, you can visit iforgot.apple.com where you can reset it, the AppleConnect password.  If the Apple ID is no longer a valid email address, you can use the security question method to reset the password instead.
    Unless you have made a lot of purchases with your new Apple ID, I'd recommend moving back into your old one, especially if that has the most or the most expensive apps with it.  If your new Apple ID is the "name/email" you want to use, you could rename the new one to a secondary email, then rename your old Apple ID to your preferred name/email.  Basically, rename the new one to something else which frees up that name (email) to rename your old Apple ID.  Thus your old Apple ID has the new name.  See My Apple ID.  The "Manage your account" link is where you can rename the ID itself.
    Sorry about getting long winded here, but it's important to keep as few Apple IDs as possible, at least when it comes to purchases.  If an Apple ID is undesired, rename it rather than creating a new one. It will be much simpler in the long run.

    I lost my password for Skype, then I tried to reset it by sending an email to my registered email address. Upon trying to log onto my Skype registered email, I found out that my email was deactivated.
    Is there a way I can try to change my password for Skype or to change my old registered email to my new email?

    I am having the same problem.  I not only cannot login to my skype account on new iphone 6, but app did not respond to a request to change password.   I  am not using 3rd party keyboard and I re-installed the app. Even though I could still login on my pc I changed my password, can login successfully on PC, but still cannot login on my iphone....

    Just tried reinstalling back to factory for my wife and all went well except no email client will work, tried , live mail, outlook 2007, trial outlook 2010 and thunderbird with no success, tried imap and pop again with no success. tried logging onto my known good email account.
    Tried removing the pre installed norton av again no luck, things were getting a bit flakey after all of the install/uninstalls so restored it one more time but this time only installed windows live mail and the pre installed office starter edition and still cant log on to an email server

    Just have to give it some time. The activation and verification servers are all slammed right now 'cause of all the people trying to update at the same time. Give it a couple hours (or overnight if you can wait) and it should sort itself out.

  • I accepted Taco Update - now I can get online, but cannot log in to Email. Have uninstalled and Reset, but no good. Help!

    Two weeks ago I accepted an update from Firefox called "Taco" that sounded good because it prevents certain permanent tracking cookies, etc...Now I can get online, but when I try to log in to my email it asks for my password a second time and then it looks like it's processing but it doesn't go anywhere....it shows it's trying to connect to the website (on the bottom left bar), but flickers back and forth (there) and that's it.

    It sounds like there is a conflict between the code that stops trackers and the page.
    You can disable TACO for a specific site by going to "Tools"->"TACO"->"Options"->"Disable for this site".

    Try changing your e-mail password. Click on the forgot password link on the web mail login page.
    I was having similar problems with Android devices and it fixed it for me.

    The error message is:

    Your account has been suspended by our automatic spam filters. These filters are regularly adjusted to make sure our users do not abuse the service and to protect them from potential spam messages. If you were using your Ovi Mail account to send a large number of multiple mails to a large number of recipients, your account may have been incorrectly suspended.
    Please contact Nokia Care (for example select Contact Us from Support page) and provide your user ID and explain, per this reply, that your Ovi Mail account has been suspended by mistake. Nokia support will re-activate your account again.

    That email address is still a valid Apple ID. If you do not remember the passcode, sign onto Manage your Apple ID (Apple - My Apple ID) with that email address, and then click on Reset Password. You will be asked to answer your Security Questions in order to reset the password. If you do not remember the answers to your Security Questions, contact Apple Support to reset them for you:

  • I show and old defunct email address for my Apple ID on my APP store, iCloud, and iTune accounts and cannot log in.  I am told my ID or password is incorrect.  I did change my primary email address.  that is the app ID that is showing.

    How do I rename my App Store, iCloud, and iTunes accounts so i can update apps and software?  I have closed the original email address i started my App Store, icloud, and iTunes account and cannot log in unders that Apple ID.  I have tried going through device and my MacBook Air.  Where can i get on-line assistance?

    If you mean you are trying to delete your iCloud account in iOS 7 and you don't know the passwod for the old ID, do one of the following:
    If you still have access to your old email address, go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your iCloud ID.  Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email account and verify it.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You should then be able to turn off Find My iPhone with your password. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back and change your primary email address and iCloud ID back to the way it was.  You will then be able to go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current ID and password to reconnect to your iCloud account.
    If you don't have access to your old email address, you will have to contact Apple to get them to reset the password for it so you can disable Find My iPhone and sign into your iCloud account.  You will have to prove your identity to them in order to do so.  You can either contact iTunes support for assistance with this (https://ssl.apple.com/emea/support/itunes/contact.html), or contact Apple Support (http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/).

    OK, restart in Safe Mode, this will clear some caches. It's possible one or more is corrupt. To restart in Safe Mode when you hear the start up tone hold down the Shift Key until you see a progress bar. Let it fully boot then restart normally and test.
    Also I am assuming you have checked Finder - Preferences  - General and see what boxes are checked in "Show these items on desktop." You can also mount an item in Disk Utility, simply highlight it and then look in the File menu for Mount.....

    I have not been able to log into my Comcast 'zimbra' email here online for quite some time, the little blue circle just keeps going round and round. And the email alternative site no longer works.I can only log into my email with the web browser on my phone.I cannot express to you enough how much I do not like using my phone for email. Please do not ask me tiresome questions:I have the most current version of my browser.No I am not using another browser, for just last month this browser was just fine.I have the most current version of flash.Yes I am using the correct ID and password (and it is also saved into the browser).  

    Yep been awhile again, but I have been trying all my geeky friend's advice.. and.. wait for it.. yep...Still a no go for being able to retrieve email through my ff browser. lol.. it's been what, 3 months now?Oh and yes, history cache cleared as well as temp cache a brand spanking new fresh browser session, updated, disabled addons (all 2 of them), ran Ccleaner to make sure all temp files are gone, and so many of the other "V8 moment" fixes. Question, is it possible, for some insane reason, I would need html5 player enabled/allowable in my browser? Less than 2 months ago I disabled it in my browser because my graphics card is to old, html5 videos just stutter along.. (youtube is now using primarily, html5 players, by disallowing html5 within the browser settings, you force those players to use flash) Any other ideas? I'm fresh out
