Cannot log out of Facebook properly on iOS 6.

Hi,
I've got iOS 6.0.1 on my iPad 2 and before the update I found logging out on Facebook perfectly fine.  However, after logging out with the update, the app says 'You are logged in as...' and below, I can press continue to proceed to my Facebook account.  I've looked at Settings to see if I can logout from there, but I can't find anything.  So is there a way I can make it so that I have to input my password to log in? It's quite an issue for me as multiple people use my iPad.
Thanks!

Found a fix! You must go to Settings, then to the Facebook settings page.  Here you can delete your account, but this only deletes it from the device (as verified when it asks you to confirm the decision, with something like 'Do you want to delete your account from this device' showing up in a small window).  Then, you are asked if you would like to merge your account or not.  I chose to merge, which took a few minutes to finish.  From then on I was asked my password when logging into Facebook.

I want to sign out of current apple id and into another one that I own but I no longer have access to my current email address so I cannot log out (It is with an internet provider who I have just unsubscribed with)  This is on an iPhone 5S, on iOS 8.1.

That email address is still a valid Apple ID. If you do not remember the passcode, sign onto Manage your Apple ID (Apple - My Apple ID) with that email address, and then click on Reset Password. You will be asked to answer your Security Questions in order to reset the password. If you do not remember the answers to your Security Questions, contact Apple Support to reset them for you:

  • Can't log out of facebook since 1/24/13

I have the official Facebook app on both my iPhone and iPad. In the last few days, there must have been a change in the app because now when I choose the red "Log Out" button within the app, it doesn't Log Out, it only presents a screen that looks like this below (on both the iPhone 4S and iPad 2). It still shows you logged in, with a Continue button as a choice. There is no way to Log Out. I have tried deleting the app and re-installing it from the App store with the latest version. I have tried logging in to another account but when I log out of the other account, it still shows that my account is Logged in. Does anyone know what to do?

After the following steps, should I be able to post a link to my Facebook timeline?
    1) Log out in Facebook app.
    2) In Settings, disable Facebook account access to Facebook app.  (Now the Facebook app shows the login form.  Don't login.)
    3) In Mobile Safari, clear cookies and data.
    4) In Mobile Safari, post a page to your Facebook timeline.
I was expecting it fail or bring up a login form, but it successfully posted the link to the timeline.  The access token is still remembered somewhere.  Help is appreciated.
[UPDATE: after typing up the above, googled for Facebook active sessions.  When I deleted all the sessions and tried sharing in the browser, it prompted me to enter the Facebook password in Settings, as expected.  Thought I'd post it here as it's related to the topic.]

You need to return it to the seller and get your money back.  You cannot reset or use the device with another AppleID installed unless you know the password for that ID.
If the device has been jailbroken, no one on here can give you any further help...the Terms of Use prohibit us from doing so.

  • Cannot Log Out or Shut Down

After extended sleep mode, I cannot log out and computer will not shut down.
The first symptom of a problem that I noticed was that after waking from an extended sleep (i.e. overnight), the screen saver no longer worked and would not auto-start. I thought this was a problem with the screen saver and called Apple support. During the troubleshooting process, I was instructed to shut down the computer, but could not do so. I was forced to hold power button to force shut down. We ran disk utility and repair permission in an attempt to correct the screen saver issue. After rebooting the screen saver worked, but this issue remained a watch item.
The next day, after the computer awakened from auto sleep mode (overnight), same problem. Screen saver failed to start, I could not start it from the assigned hot corner, and I could not log out or shut down. When selecting log out or shut down, error messages would appear to the effect "log out timed out because Mail would not quit." The Mail program was not active in the dock, and when I tried to Force Quit, it would not display in the list of programs to force quit. I also noticed that Time Machine could not find the external drive. I had to hold down power button and reboot to resume normal operation.
    I cannot resolve these problems.
Here is my configuration: Mac Mini G4 1.5GHz with 1GB memory. Upgraded from Tiger to Leopard. I have an Admin account & parental controlled account. Power save is set to sleep automatically after 1 hour, and screen saver is set to auto-start after 5 minutes. Computer wakes daily at 5:30 am. I have set a password for screen saver. Time Machine is set to "On" to backup to 250GB LaCie Firewire external hard drive. No content barrier software installed. I have removed all programs from Startup folder.
I plan to call Apple support again, but in the meantime, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Hi there EEP1 - I have had the same problem with my Mac Mini for years and cannot solve it either. When my Mac comes awake from sleep Mail usually looks for new mail and hangs indefinitely. I try and quit or force quit and this will stay in the dock. I'm not sure whether Mail is the problem or not, but it seems to take out actions associated with file control in the Finder [saving, quitting, shutting down, force quitting etc.]. It's really frustrating and I'm sure it's not healthy to force restart each time it does this.
Did you manage to call Apple again? Or find any other soloutions? It's a tricky search term to define when looking for advice from forums!
    Many thanks, Ben

  • Safari update 5.1.4 does not solve logging out of Facebook

After installing the new update for Safari (5.1.4), I am still being logged out of Facebook whenever I close my Mac.
What is a reason for this? How can it be solved?
I also have FileVault 2 enabled...

    Hi ...
Right or control click the Safari app in your Applications folder then click Get Info.
In the Get Info panel you'll see:  Open in 32-bit mode
If that box is selected, deselect it.
Quit then relaunch Safari for changes to take effect.
Turning off the Lion "resume" feature may help also.
    Open System Preferences > General
Deselect:  Restore windows when quitting and re-opening apps
    Restart your Mac.

  • Definitive answer to Safari logging out of Facebook?

I've been logged out of Facebook every time my computer goes to sleep.
I check the "remember me" option in Safari each time.
Any working solutions? I read that this is a feature that was worked in by Apple apparently? If so, then I'm going to Chrome.

Was a big Apple bug. Affected many users.
Was fixed. But could be back again...

  • Apple Safari Logging out of Facebook and Twitter

Any particular reason that Apple Safari is logging me out of Facebook and Twitter every so often? I have checked in common settings places and haven't found anything that should be deleting browsing history, cookies, etc. when I close the application. Yet it seems to happen too often.

Log out from Facebook. You can do this by clicking the downward facing arrow to the right of Home top right side of the Facebook window.
From your Safari menu bar top of your screen click Safari > Empty Cache
Now back to the menu bar again, click Safari > Preferences then select the Privacy tab then click Details.
Type    facebook   in the search field  then click Remove All > Done
Quit then relaunch Safari and go to Facebook.
    You should see this:
Enter your username and password and make sure to select:  Keep me logged in then click Log In.

  • Cannot log out of BT Openzone

I recently purchased a BT openzone package of 4000 minutes over 30 days which has been working fine.
However when I logged in today, it connected fine but now when I click to log out I get this message:
    Server error
The website encountered an error while retrieving https://www.btopenzone.com:8443/home?CPURL=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.btopenzone.com%2F. It may be down for maintenance or configured incorrectly.
Here are some suggestions:Reload this web page later.
HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfil the request.
and so now I cannot log out! I have to go to work in a minute and so I am worried that it will keep counting down my minutes although I want to log out! Any suggestions?

While not excusing avoidable shortcomings, I reckon that paying separately for any wifi service is not a good idea unless you can regularly access a hotspot that you know is reliable. Hotspots are notoriously flaky (especially BT Fon, relying as it does on hub owners playing ball), and I regard the service included with BT Broadband as a handy extra rather than a must-have.
A mobile dongle is far more dependable, as is tethering a computer to a smartphone or setting up a phone as a wifi hotspot.
