Cannot login to OBIEE 11g EM,console and analytics Remotely

Hi All,
We are facing a issue with login in EM, Console and Analytics of OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
We can login in EM, console andanalytics on the host where OBIEE installed. But from other machine, for example my laptop, the login process is hanging there. It could not login successfully.
Any ideas?

I am able to access the login pages of em,console and analytics when i am giving the credentials its trying to log in and then redirecting to same log in page with no error returned.
Server is installed on the windows 2008 machine and the browser used is I.E 8 as per the company rules we are not supposed to use any other browser.
I am sure about the host file could please tell me what was that and what need to be taken in that.

"Cannot login. Make sure the name and password are correct."

I've just created a new iAS6 SP4 instance on a new machine (new local LDAP, SPARC Solaris8). But when I startup a ksvradmin tool I get the msg: "Cannot login. Make sure the name and password are correct."... and I cannot access to admin my new instance :-(. I don't understand about what user and what pw it tell me. I did this instalaltion on other machine by the same way but without any problem. On my other machine I don't have to identificate me when I use the ksvradmin tool.

Sorry I wasn't being very clear either. I was assuming that you were trying to follow option 2 from Joe D's post on 3-24-2004. Once you know what environment variables have changed you can go the control panel to set them. Some of them will may be new variables that you will need to define. Others may already exists in which case you want to append to them.
The other option is as Joe D said, which is to run VCVARS32.bat before you start Xmath. You could even make a batch file such that instead of starting xmath.bat directly you call your own batch file (.bat). This batch file would have two lines. One to run VCVARS32.bat and the second to run XMATH.bat. If you are not familiar with batch files there are a lot of resources on the web about them. In this case all you would need is:
<path to vcvars32.bat>\vcvars32.bat
"C:\Program Files\National Instruments\MATRIXx\bin\xmath.bat" -v 71.6
The -v 71.6 is optional. it specifies to specifically open version 7.1.6. If you leave it off the newest version will be opened.

How to export users and their roles/responsibilities from OBIEE 11g weblogic console ? (we have nearly 8000 users)

I am not an expert in the OBIEE 11g security area, we have an urgent requirement where in i need to obtain the complete list of all users along with their roles/responsibilities.Ours is a big organization and there are nearly 8000 users. Please advice if i need to write any weblogic script (WLST) or is there any other simple way for this..

If it is through Presentation Layer,Below the steps you can follow:-
1. Open the OBIEE 11G RPD (offline/online) in Administration Tool
2. Select the ALL/required presentation objects form your Presentation Layer and right-click.
3. On the context menu select “Permission Report”
4 .The Permission Report dialog displays the name and a description of the selected presentation object,
along with a list of users/application roles and their permissions. CLick the Save button to save the permissions in CSV format.
5.Once you saved to a CSV format, you can use that report for the quick auditing of security management.

Can't login to obiee 11g analytics

Hi Guys,
Client has installed obiee 11g in a server sitting at different place. We have deployed our own repository and catalog. Now we can't login to obiee analytics. It does not accept any username or password created in weblogic console. But if we deploy oracle's default SampleSales repository, then we could login. Can't understand what's the problem!

This is the exact format how my tnsnames.ora file looks. sorry, I can ping it in command prompt now. In my connection pool i tried first DSN = ab.bc.xy.zx, did not work. Then I saw oracle's default repository and changed my DSN to your suggested format starting from "DESCRPTION" to rest. Still no luck Do you think, i should put the same TNS in my local machine??

Priventing WLS user from login into OBIEE 11g

I have 100+ users in Weblogic. Only some users say 60 are allowed to access OBIEE 11g.
How do I prevent other users from login into OBIEE (When they have OBIEE url :) ).

You can put those 60 users in a group say OBIEE_Users and use this group in All Users Filter in WLS.
User Base DN : DC=CORP,DC=NET
All user Filter : (&(memberof=CN=OBIEE_Users,OU=BIUsers,DC=CORP,DC=NET)(cn=*)(objectclass=user))
User from name filter : (&(cn=%u)(objectclass=user))

Cannot login to network account (leopard client and server)

Up until now, I have used local accounts on my leopard server. I want to start experimenting with OD prior to implementing. I created a new user account in the /LDAPv3/127.0.0.1 domain, and have bound my leopard client to the server using directory utility. On the login screen, "Network Accounts Available" has a green button to the left of it. When I try and login to the server account, the login window just shakes. At first, I could enter the password and then it would prompt me for a new password. Trying to enter a new password would not allow me to login. I went back to server admin and disabled the "require new password" setting, (as well as the other good security policies)...
I have also reset the password in WGM, and made sure to disable all the security stuff there too...
Lastly, I have deleted the server in directory utility, rebooted, then added it back in, and rebooted again...
I still cannot login to the server account, the login screen just shakes
Does anyone have an idea of what settings and or logs I can check to try and narrow down what is going on?

to close out the thread, I have working dns on my network, but I did not have dns enabled on my server. I enabled the dns service and entered just the info for my server, then assigned my server and client to use the server's ip addy as the primary dns server. Next, I created the home directory.
Once both steps were done, I was able to log in from my client to my server based account...
FYI-I found a document on afp548.com called "leopard server: advanced setup, rsync backup and automated reporting" that walks you right thru the process...Here is the link, it's a very useful doc....

Can not login to OBIEE 11g

I have installed OBIEE 11g last evening. I was able to connect to the dashboard and run a simple report also - all before shut down. Now when I try to access OBIEE 11g thru port :9704 after starting the BI services, I am getting the following error.
"Error 404--Not Found
From RFC 2068 Hypertext Transfer Protocol -- HTTP/1.1:
10.4.5 404 Not Found
The server has not found anything matching the Request-URI. No indication is given of whether the condition is temporary or permanent.
If the server does not wish to make this information available to the client, the status code 403 (Forbidden) can be used instead. The 410 (Gone) status code SHOULD be used if the server knows, through some internally configurable mechanism, that an old resource is permanently unavailable and has no forwarding address.
Any idea. Anyone is having any exp on this type of issue. Can anyone guide to resolve this issue.

Tracking User Login to OBIEE 11g

Is there a way to know which users logs in to the OBIEE 11g (even if the user doesn't run any report, which means no query to the database is generated)? Is there any log that records it?

Did anyone already try to get Essbase 11.1.2 and OBIEE 11g installed on the same box? In my case I am trying it on OEL 5.5 64bit.
How did you proceed?
First Essbase or first OBIEE or have WLS installed standalone first?
Encountered any hurdles?

let me check... yeah u can do that dude i cant tell u how to do it but i can give u some idea
try to see properties file or db files for web logic ...i think it where the port number are stored and in war file is where multiple instance info is stored
iam sure that u can create multiple instance as long as u give different ports (yeah u have to other wise u cant config it :))

And a few minutes after posting the above I realised my error
I have three different Adobe IDs, two at work and one personal account. I was logging in with the wrong Adobe ID, one of my work accounts but the one that isn't the admin for our Creative Cloud membership.
Just thought it was worth posting something here in case anyone else suffers the same thing for the same reason. It was the small matter of logging in with a .net email address when it should have been the .com.

Cannot login at JDS/CDE or console

I'm having difficulty with an HP server running Solaris 10 - u7. Everything was fine Friday when I left, but upon arrival Monday morning, could not log into any accounts, including root. Through much difficulty I was able to mount the zfs root and change the /etc/shadow file and log into single user mode and reset the root password and my own userid password. I can log into root from single user any time. I still cannot log in to the command line console nor into any desktop (Java or CDE). I am wondering if the cde-login service is corrupted and its preventing any logins, including the console. None of those services run in single-user so disabling doesn't seem to do anything. I don't see anything in the dtlogin error files that indicates a specific problem (missing files, etc). Short of reloading the OS, does anyone have any other ideas how to at least get a command line console login?

Edit: I was able to find an old root pool snapshot I had stashed on another disk and rolled back to it, and restored the system and kept all my user data intact. That still doesn't solve what the problem was initially and I would still like to hear any suggestions on what could cause the cde-login and console-login to fail on all accounts as it did.

What do the */etc/inittab* file say? Compare the file with some other server. The getty process is culprit i think.

From ExFolders we get error "Exception: Object Reference not set to an instance of an object"
Any thought on how to fix permissions, people who already had permission in the past can see and access them OK and all objects, but we cannot change/update or remove permissons

you please add a new public folder hierarchies with ADSIEdit as following setups.
For how to use ADSIEdit ,you can access:

1.Run ADSIEdit, right click Exchange Administrative Group under “Configuration \ services \ Microsoft
Exchange \ Organization name \ Administrative groups”.
2.Select New Object.
3.Select msExchPublicFolderTreeContainer for the class and click Next.
4.Enter the following for the value:
Folder Hierarchies, click Next.
5.Click Finish.
6.Create
Public Folder Tree Object.
7.Right click CN=Folder Hierarchies -> New Object.
8.Selected msExchPFTree for the class.
9.For the value we entered, "Public Folders" and clicked next.
10.Clicked on the "More Attributes" button, selected msExchPFTreeType .
11.Set the value
to 1.
Note: This is very important that this value is set
to a value of 1 as This tells Exchange that this is a MAPI Tree.
12.Click Ok and then finish.
13.We then went
to the properties of the newly created "Public Folders" Tree object in
ADSIEdit.
14.Copy the distinguished name value
to the clipboard and then click cancel.
15.Navigate
to the Storage group that contains the Public
Folder Store for this server and get properties of the server.
16.Locate the msExchOwningPFTree attribute and paste in the value that was copied
from the Public folders Distinguish name attribute.
17.Restart the Information Store Service.
18.Mounted and dismount the PF store.
19.Open Outlook with administrator,give full permission to default owner.
