i can recieve calls but cannot make any outbound calls to mobile or landlines. Please help!

Call them toll free from another phone. You should have got the Global Plan on your device before you went to Mexico.
If you have a device with a Sim tray, get a local carriers Sim and use their service. It will cost money in either case.

I wonder about the response to this problem. I'm currntly in the UAE and have been now for two weeks and I too am haivng the same problem. The reason for my questioning the response is I didn't come alone. Several individuals and I moved here from Bahrain. I logged off my computer, shut it down, packed it up in my computer bag and carried it on the plan with me. Now we all live in the same building and I'm the only one having problems with Skype. Everyone else has continued to enjoy skype but I cna't make a phone call. Not to a landline or Mobile. I can only receive calls. My iPhone cannot make or receive calls. I tried installing iTunes order to sync everything and restore, but I am getting 0x ... 084 errors, and it won't work. I do not want to delete all of my contacts. Any advice would be appreciated.

Oh, and I can't hook up my iPhone to iTunes because it's locked with a passcode. I can't begin to type the passcode because of this stupid "Restore Needed - can't send or receive calls" thing. This is beyond silly.

I cannot make a group call any more

As of a couple weeks ago, when I select someone to call, the video icon is fine and I can call them. When I add a second person (same people I have been calling before), the icon is greyed out and I cannot initiate a call. Both of these people I can talk to individually on skype but if I try to call them together, It won't let me.

If you are restoring from a backup, that's your problem. The backup is corrupt. After you restore, you need to select "Set up as new." You will need to reinstall everything again.

As to whether you can work with Apple via email on this issue I can't say for sure, but you can contact them via this web page:

and see if they can help. It's mostly going to be an issue of you being able to prove to them that you are the account owner.

E7 cannot make any calls

My E7 can no longer make any phone calls. Everytime I try to make a call its goes beep boop "connection problem" eventhou it has full bars. I got i going again by shutting it down, but now that has stopped working as well. Few time when somebody has called me it has dropped the call at the first second saying "connection problem". What gives?

Four years old SIM sounds pretty old and as said, please try another
SIM in your phone just to make sure your phone is ok.
The new smartphones demands some features also from your SIM-card
that the older ones doesn't.
At least here in Finland, where I live, it's easy to get a new SIM from your
operator. In my hometown here is tens of places where you can do it in 10 mins,
and depending where you go, it costs some 10€ or nothing. It can be done
over the internet also (they'll send a new SIM to your home).

You need to force quit all other (real or fake) instances of the Application Manager. Instructions differ between Mac or Win.

Error 244: The DataFinder cannot start due to an internal error.

I have LabVIEW 2010 and, during Windows start-up, this error message pops up:
"The DataFinder cannot start due to an internal error.
(244): Please wait till the National Instruments PSP Service is running and try starting the DataFinder again or reboot your computer."
I have had this error message pop up for the past year so it is a recurring thing. It started showing up a few months after I had installed the LabVIEW program onto my computer, so I am not sure on what caused this message to consistently pop up. I find that it also causes a delay in the starting up of my computer--my other start-up applications will begin to show only when I close the error window. Please help! Thank you.

It sounds like the National Instruments PSP Server Locator might not be started. Could you go to Control Panel >> Administrator Tools >> Services and locate the National Instruments PSP Server Locator? Double-click on it and make sure that the service is started. If it is, stop it and start it again (just by hitting the stop and start buttons). If it is not, start it, then go to the Recovery Tab and choose Restart the Service as the action for First, Second, and Subsequent failures.
If after change the settings for the PSP service the issue continues I would think that for some reason the PSP service is just being started late for some reason. Could you do a test real quick: disable the DataFinder in msconfig, reboot, then run the DataFinder.exe from C:\Program Files\National Instruments\Shared\DataFinderDesktop\bin. This should place the MyDataFinder app in your system tray (it looks like a yellow gear).
If this is successful, then we will need to change the order of startup services such that the DataFinder just starts after the PSP service.
Try the following:
1) Locate the DataFinder entry from the registry. Located at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
2) Delete the DataFinder entry
3) Add a shortcut of DataFinder.exe to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
4) Reboot
This should do all the standard Windows Startup (like starting services, etc.) and then launch the DataFinder.
One question: do you use the DataFinder at all? Either with DIAdem or the Data Finder toolkit? If not, you could try removing it from the Startup items. Just go to Start >> Run... and type "msconfig". Choose the Startup tab, locate DataFinder, and deselect it. Click apply. This will probably get rid of the error message.

I get the same error message every time I reboot my Win 7 PC:
"National Instruments DataFinder"
"The DataFinder cannot start due to an internal error."
"Please wait till the National Instruments DataFinder Index Service is running and try starting the DataFinder again, or reboot your computer. "
I tried finding a DataFinder Index Service in the Control Panel --> Admin,istrative Tools --> Services, as mentioned in this post http://forums.ni.com/t5/LabVIEW/Error-244-The-DataFinder-cannot-start-due-to-an-internal-error/td-p/...,
but there was none such listed service:
I cannot find any mention of a DataFinder or a DataFinder Index Service anywhere else on my PC. Can you please help to find out where this error is coming from and how to fix it? As far as I am aware, I do not use this DataFinder. Thanks!

Hello BrandonVonk,
The toolkit wouldn't show up in your installed programs list as it is more like a plugin to LabVIEW. Instead, pull up NI License Manager and go to Local Licenses > LabVIEW XXXX > Toolkits and see if it is listed amongst the toolkits you have installed. There should be a geen box next to it to indicate that it has been installed and activated.

I have reset the network settings and the phone itself. I have called the *228 and it said it reprogramed my phone. walked away from my phone and it found service again for like 2 minutes and then went back to searching. This is pathetic, I basically have a touch now. I have hear several people have had this problem and it seems even after the phone is replaced they still have the problem. I can't belive you can spend this much on a phone to have it not work. Any resolve to this problem coming?

I have first a question. When it states to activate a phone press 1, did you do it? If not try it.
The second thing I would recommend is to simply change the phone number either online through my Verizon web portal or call customer service and have them change your number.
Then wait about 20 minutes and see if the problem has gone away.
Since the micro Sim is only good for overseas unlocked use; I believe a *228 send and select option 1 will set up your device on the Verizon network. You may just try doing that without changing your phone . Hey give it a try what can it hurt?

So the menu bar reads iChat, File, Edit, View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ? (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
Type in:-
~/Library/Preferences
Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

Sounds like a catch 22 situation. I rekon you are in the UK trying to use the 3 USB wimax stick.
In anycase an iMac is a big machine to lug around. It's a difficult situation.
If you have a neighbor, politely ask them if you can use their broadband for a short while. If this is not practical then call 3 and let them know your circumstances.
I might be stepping on my own feet here…wait. You need Java 6.
Ok for now, try the standalone combo update for Lion client. We will try things the manual way. It's a big download, please make sure you are not going to reach your download cap on your phone becuase you are now tethered to your mobile phone and I wouldn't want to see you pay a premium for this.
