Cannot make calls from phones other than my own?

I have a Skype To Go number for the unlimited US/Canada package. I cannot make calls from phones other than my own: "Due to technical fault..." What's the point of having Skype then?

That makes no sense at all. The phone doesn't know or care what kind of phone is calling it. There's something else causing this. Contact your carrier.

It could be that you need a replacement SIM.
Did you look in call barring to see if any bars were enabled?
you could also try removing and giving the SIM a wipe with a soft cloth. When you pop it back in do a reboot.

When iPhone is on Cellular data and WiFi, i cannot make calls and phone goes out of service.

So I have this iPhone 5S unlocked version from the US which I am using in India. When I am connected to my office wireless and also the cellular & 3G data are switched on, my phone goes out of service and I cannot make calls. I can also use internet.
However this works great when I get onto my home WiFi along with cellular & 3G data switched on, I can make calls and also surf the net with the WiFi.
Is anyone having similar issue? I am sure there is something with the office WiFi but what could it be to get my phone out of service.
Any thoughts anybody ?

Yes I shutdown WiFi and I can connect to 3G on Cellular. I can make calls.
If I shutdown Cellular and connect WiFi. I can make calls.
Its just that when both are ON, then no calls can be made.
All combinations work good with Home WiFi.

You should call your carrier and make sure your account is provisioned correctly. It sounds like your provisioning profile has not been distributed to all of the MTSOs (network switches) in your country. Sometimes this can be fixed by deleting the profile, then recreating it (this must be done by a carrier engineer, of course; it is not something that you can do).

I used before a Droid with my car (Lexus) to make call with Hands-Free system without the need to unlock the phone.It worked OK ,with the car parked or running.
I have now a IPhone4S and if I want to make a call while driving, I need to unlock first the IPhone or stop the car, for the the call to go througth.
If I unlock the IPhone and keep it unlocked all the time ,no problems,but unfortunally the battery died sooner than I wanted in long travels.
Any way to way to keep it locked and still works, like it did with the Droid?

Sorry your experience wasn't a plesant one, but most of the issues they work on are hardware in nature, not software.. I'm not taking up for Apple... I'd had my share of run-ins with them as well.
As for your iTunes issue... an EASY solution is to simply tell iTunes that the location you want your tunes stored in is your Public folder. Items in your public folder can be seen and opened by others, so your wife could easily access the files there.
For you, go to your Music folder, find the iTunes folder, and drag it to your public folder.
Next, go to iTuness>Preferences and click on the Advanced tab, then the General Tab, and the first window you see is the iTunes Music Folder Locataion. Click Change, then navigate to the iTunes folder in you Public folder.
Now, next time you purchase a song from the iTunes store, or import songs from a CD, they will be stored in the iTunes folder, in your public folder.
You wife does basically the same thing except she navigates to YOUR public folder, and the iTunes folder inside.
She will have to manually find and import any new songs you add but at least your entire library will be available for her to listen to.
There are other ways of getting the same thing done, but I think this is the easiest.

I just installed yosemite and was able to make calls on my iPhone from contacts but now it seems as its gone away

Your car BT device has to support the Bluetooth Phone Book Access Profile (PBAP) to sync contacts from your iPhone. Check with the manual for that device.

IOS 7 downloaded fine but I can't back up restored. Tried 3 times. Tried turning off iCloud. Now I can only receive texts and phone messages. I cannot make calls, retrieve phone messages or send any texts. When I try I just get a blank screen. HELP

I initially tried to do this at 11:39pm last night. I cleaned up my apps, backed up to my computer and then took the plunge. It downloaded fine, everything went ok until I tried to restore backup. I received a message that there was an error in iTunes and iPhone could not be restored. I tried this three times giving up at 2:00 am. I tried again at 7:30am. No fix. Now I can open up phone and browse in safari. I would start with going to O2 with the phone and making sure it's set up properly - maybe the SIM they gave you isn't quite right or their network isn't acknowleding it like it should.
Seeing as you've tried restoring to factory settings and resetting network settings, I'm assuming you've tried restoring the phone as new, just to see if that helped at all. If that didn't help, you definitely need to get in touch with O2 and work things out with them.

I receive messages from iPhones normally. But when I try to text people who have regular Android phones, I either get their messages really late or I don't get them at all. Cannot Make Calls From Within Contacts

This has been a major problem, sometimes (it is random) when I go into my contacts, I cannot call someone by selecting their name and clicking the big green dial button. I must dial by entering the numbers manually. However, the problem is solved when I restart, but it reoccurs after a periods of usage (again, random). This does not seem to be an isolated problem, I have searched around and there seems to be others with this problem, but no solution has been offered. Thanks! If anyone can offer any insight into this, it will be greatly appreciated ^_^.

I had exactly the same problem with my 6630 but the reset never solved it. I think that was one of my only problems with it. I had to just restart it and it worked again. Onlly happened a few time mind so could just be a natural phenomena?Message Edited by taffytafftaf on 13-Feb-2007

Hi,
I bought an x6 recently. When i select a contact and press the call key on the touchscreen or on the phone, the call does not go thru. It just remain as such.
When i type in the number on the keypad and then call, the call goes thru.
I am able to receive calls without any problem. Someone please suggest.

Where are your contacts stored?. Phone memory or sim card? I have mine in phone memory and everything works fine.
What you need to do is tap the contact name, tap the phone number you want to call, tap call>Voice call and your phone should then call the number.

Cannot make call from MBP, although both iPhone and MBP share the same ID

Both my iPhone 6 Plus and MBP with Yosemite have the same Apple ID, iCloud and Face Time details - account (and the same Wifi). Yet, when I try to dial from MBP contacts, I get this message, I don't understand why.

Find my friends is designed to locate DIFFERENT Apple ID's. So if you want to use FMF for this purpose, you would need to create a different apple ID for one of your devices.
OR, you could use the Find My iPhone App. Which will display ALL of your devices.

Nokia 520 no sound, cannot make calls

Last week my Nokia 520 that i have had for three months has started to breakdown. When playing music on the phones speakers or playing anything that had sound on the phone it stopped working. My headphone socket still works. The strange thing is my ringtones and alarms still work through the speaker? I had completed a factory reset and still it has not worked.
Now i cannot make calls my phone rings the person i cannot hear them at all they cannot hear me? Im really disappointed and want to know has anyone else came across these problems? Thanks

okay here is what happend, yesterday after 3 to 4 hours after I posted the problem heoundre, the s came back. I did NOT reset the phone or did anything, It was on the table and when i unlocked it there was sound. which was really frustrating cuz i could not find out what was it that caused the problem. then today in the evening i was playing this game, and again the sound went dead again.
I factory reset the phone, nothing happend. what the hell is going on with my phone. I can take my phone to nokia care centre but they will keep it for days. and I think the speaker is okay thats why the sound came back. right? Please I want a reply from some nokia support staff. this is serious.
