Cannot make calls to landlines and cell phones.

I just bought a subscription for 1 month with skype. I have try to make several calls already and have not been able to connect. Skype starts to call and then it comes up with the message that you have to have skype credit or a subscription. What can I do?

Do you have Skype Credit, or a subscription, to cover calls to landlines or mobiles from your Skype account? If not, then you won't be able to call telephones other than possibly toll-free numbers in a few countries. Remember that a Skype Online Number only covers receiving calls. It does not give you the capability to make calls to telephones.

I don't think your browser would be the problem here. Check the Skype app on your computer, and your account (either through the app, or log into your account on the Skype web site).

Your phone has to be activated through your carrier first. Call your carrier and make sure they have activated it.

Wifes and daughters phones hook up [androids] I changed from blackberrys to i 4s blackberrys always worked still have work blackberry thats hooked up and working now? using t mobile seems to work fine when im out just not at home. Blackberry switches and works seamesly androids do also.

When iPhone is on Cellular data and WiFi, i cannot make calls and phone goes out of service.

So I have this iPhone 5S unlocked version from the US which I am using in India. When I am connected to my office wireless and also the cellular & 3G data are switched on, my phone goes out of service and I cannot make calls. I can also use internet.
However this works great when I get onto my home WiFi along with cellular & 3G data switched on, I can make calls and also surf the net with the WiFi.
Is anyone having similar issue? I am sure there is something with the office WiFi but what could it be to get my phone out of service.
Any thoughts anybody ?

Yes I shutdown WiFi and I can connect to 3G on Cellular. I can make calls.
If I shutdown Cellular and connect WiFi. I can make calls.
Its just that when both are ON, then no calls can be made.
All combinations work good with Home WiFi.

Make an appointment at any Apple store, see what the genius bar says/does.
You don't metion whether the car was hot or cold.

As peter says, this is evidence that your phone was previously hacked and was re-locked by the upgrade.
ONLY the carrier it is locked to can unlock it. There is nothing else we can suggest.

I contacted AT n T also and explained about the problem, They suggested to monitor few more days...whether it is real network issue or not. But I am very sure it is NOT network issue because one day I was waiting for my brother at my office open parking space, And i called my brother whether he is ready at his place so that i can go and pick him, but he told it takes sometime...and he told, he will call in 15 mins, So i was at the same location (NOT even moved 1 inch also ), just sitting and listening music and after 30 mins, I called him back and asked Still not ready, then he replied he was trying me from last 15 mins and it is going to voice mail , I got similar complaint from others as well. Today also my cousin called my landline and asked Is your phone switched off ? because i was trying to reach you but it is going to voice message, I saw the signals at that time, Signal strength is very good. Taking phone to next levels is good, But it should NOT hamper it's basic phone functionality ( Make calls, receiving calls, Voice mail etc ). Please let me know if any fix for this.

You say it started on yours after upgrading to iOS 8. I've been on iOS 8.0 for quite some time and only recently did this issue spring up.
The one thing I haven't tried is downgrading it back to iOS 7 (which would be a shame, but if it's the only answer...)

What, exactly, "continues to go to gmail"? You need to provide us with very specific information as to what things you are having problems with. One at a time.

I have a Skype To Go number for the unlimited US/Canada package. I cannot make calls from phones other than my own: "Due to technical fault..." What's the point of having Skype then?

That makes no sense at all. The phone doesn't know or care what kind of phone is calling it. There's something else causing this. Contact your carrier.

Cannot make Calls: "Announcement 4 switch 1 8 dash 8"

So, about a week ago people began being incapable of understanding what I was saying on phone calls, the volume was very low and the sound was completely garbled. I experimented with recording videos, and the videos had captured sound perfectly. So it seems it is not a hardware issue, unless video records sound with a different microphone than phone calls.
Then just today, I could not even make phone calls. I would get "this call cannot be completed as dialed, please check the number. announcement" followed by a 'switch' code. I then activated the "advanced calling" feature of my phone for the first time, restarted the device as instructed, and verified successful installation of advanced calling. I still cannot make calls, with the "call cannot be completed as dialed" message followed by "4 switch 1 8 dash 7" and then eventually "4 switch 1 8 dash 8." This occurs when calling Sprint numbers, Verizon numbers, and even 1800 numbers. I have tried calling my phone from another phone, and I hear the same message on the 'healthy' phones.

Usually it indicates a problem with the format of the number. Have you tried 1 area code 7-digit# or drop the 1 or drop both the 1 and the area code? Maybe try a new SIM free at a corporate store or power down, pop yours out, reinsert, power on.
