  • I cannot make the "Tones" tab appear into my iTunes even if I go to Preferences and click the "Tones" button. What do I do?

I just recently bought the iPhone 5 and updated to the newest version of iTunes and I cannot make the ring"tones" tab appear. I even went to preferences and clicked on the "tones" button so that the "tones" tab would appear, and it won't appear. I reset the computer and everything. If someone could please tell me how to make the "tones" tab actually appear, that would be wonderful.
    Thank you!

    Hi Friend,
    In iTunes,
Click Edit --> Preferences --> General Icon Ensure that
Ringtones is checked.  If not, check it then click OK…
    Hope it will be helpful

  • Cannot make itunes default player

Whenever I try to make itunes my default player there is an error message saying I do not have the proper privellages to access it. Because of this I cannot import CDs to itunes. Whenever I try to download itunes 5 there is also another error as well.

I had the same problem as well. I tried opening my other mp3 player (musicmatch) and deselected the boxes that told it to associate itself with various music files. Other software might also have a box that tells it to be the default player for music.
It didn't work at first but it did after a while, possibly after I rebooted (or tried the steps below - I can't remember =P)
You might also try right-clicking on an mp3 or other music file and select "Open With" and then "Choose Program." Select or browse to iTunes and there should be a checkbox that will tell it to use iTunes every time or something.
I'm not sure what's causing the download problem, maybe something to do with Internet Explorer or your firewall blocking software downloads?

  • Cannot open ITunes. Message appears.

Hi, I have been unable to open ITunes for the last few days. Everytime I try to open it a message appears that says " The ITunes application could not be opened. An unknown error occurred (13010)."
I downloaded and installed ITunes again, but nothing. Restarted the computer, nothing... Can anyone help me with this?

Ahh... I found an old post from someone else that solve the problem:
In Finder, head to ~yourusername/Music/iTunes folder and remove the file titled iTunes Library Genius.itdb.  Then try relaunching iTunes.
    It works!

Go to Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs. On the left,
you can set Program Access and Defaults. In that,
choose Custom. There you should be able to change the
    default media player to iTunes.
Tried it but defaults back to "Use my current player."
I get error message: "You do not have enough privileges for this operation." Thanks for your help. Any advise?

  • Cannot Get iTunes Homepage to load

I am running Windows 7 and the latest version of iTunes. When it tries to load, I only get a blank screen with iTunes Store in the middle. No homepage. I have tried the "fixes" on the website, which is what the support folks referenced me to. I still cannot get iTunes homepage to appear. If anyone has any ideas I am open. I have used iTunes on this computer before.

I think I have the same problem. I can access the itunes store, youtube etc from the apple tv, I can play items on my playlist on the apple tv by switching to apple tv speakers on the bottom of my itunes page. But when it comes to loading my library the wheel just keeps on turning. There does seem to be a connection to my itunes as changes to my library name in itunes is reflected on the apple tv under "Computers"
I am not sure that this has anything to do with it, but I do not have a "SHARED" library in itunes even though my Home Sharing is switched on, which is verified by the fact that I can see my library name and play music on the apple tv.

    Hi,
( I search for iChat questions when I have finished in the iChat Forum)
So the menu bar reads iChat, File,  Edit,  View, Buddies, Video, Window and Help
There is no Buddy List open.
There is no other window for iChat open.
In the iChat Menu you only have access to Status.
Is an item ticked in the list ?
Is this a green (Available item) or  Red ( an Away one) ?
Can you access the Accounts option ?  (Sitll in the iChat Menu)
Is anything in here ticked ?
In the Window menu any Logged in account should appear in the list  (Between the Next Chat and File Transfer items)
It would be useful to know which version of iChat this is.
If no account is ticked (iChat Menu > Accounts) or not showing in the Window Menu, plus you cannot determine the Status and you cannot access the Preferences then you need to access your Home Folder/Library/Preferences
As the Library in the Home Holder is Invisible in Lion you will need the Finder's Go Menu > Go to Folder option  (you can use it in earlier OS versions if you want)
    Type in:-
    ~/Library/Preferences
    Find the file called com.apple.ichat.plist
Drag it to the Trash and Restart iChat.
This will lose all the settings in iChat that you have changed from Defaults but there is no way around this.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Dropdown dialog boxes will not work. I can click on the boxes, the dropdown appears, but I cannot make anything in the box operate. I just upgraded to 6.0.2 on a fresh install of Windows XP

I use the net to pay bills. The dialog box on my bills have accounts in them, but I cannot make the account numbers work. I regularly go to websites that are several pages deep, but the dropdowns for the next page don't work. The numbers, as well as the accounts appear, but they cannot be highlighted to access them.

I'm not sure if the crash is or isn't related to fonts.
Deciphering the crash long is something I don't have any experience with.
I'm not even sure how the crash log is structured. I've downloaded two screen captures: one from the top of the adobe Photoshop crash log and one from the bottom. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable than I can discern what may be causing the crash?

I just purchased a new laptop, so consequently had to buy Itunes Match to get all of my music back. Now everything is in the cloud, and I can't play them and cannot make a cd. Please explain how I can get my library out of the cloud and keep them on my computer so they are available when I want them? Wow.......why have you made everything so difficult now?

    No you didn't.
Now everything is in the cloud
Except for anything you did not purchase in iTunes Store.
Only you iTunes purchases are in the cloud.
Reada the article that brenden dv posted to copy your iTunes library to new computer.

  • Recently I updated my iTunes account, but there was an error during installation.  Now I cannot open iTunes as an error message appears.  If I delete iTunes from my laptop then reinstall, will I still have access to all my music etc?

The reason why I ask, is because I have another laptop which I then installed iTunes on (this was to overcome the issue of the error message and reduce the risk of losing my music etc. on my first laptop).  I cannot see any of my music on the second laptop, even when I attach my iPod.  I authorised the second laptop to link but as I cannot open iTunes on my first laptop, I cannot access my music.  I'm assuming  iTunes accounts are only stored on individual laptops/PCs and cannot be accessed remotely??  Or am I doing something wrong?  I'm not sure what I can do.

Your iTunes library, media, playlists, and iOS device backups are safe. Please visitTroubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for details. The steps in the second box should get iTunes back on track.
I don't make any use of the homesharing feature so I can't really comment on it, but if you want to change which computer you use to manage your devices see this migrate iTunes library post.
