Cannot manually drag window size in 7.0 or now 12.0

I have been using FF for some time. I seem to have lost the ability to drag the edges of the windows smaller. I also have IE, and can do it there...maybe I'm just confused, and never had the ability to do this in FF. Often, especially when typing in registration keys or serial numbers, I would drag the window up to read the data on the underlying window, if it would not allow copy and paste. Am I missing something?
XP Pro, SP3, AMD processor.

Hmm. Maybe. I have Snag-It somewhere.
It's just that you run the cursor down to the bottom edge of the window, until you get the double arrow, click and drag....you don't get the double arrow.
You can't click and drag.
I opened a bunch of windows, found out I can do it on some, but not the first window or the last. In between, I can. When I was dealing with this earlier, I had two windows open, could not do either one.
Is this a "feature"?
I searched the options, could find nothing to set to operate this function differently.
Snag-It won't show the bottom of the screen, and this software doesn't like .bmp files, I guess.

I don't know what happened but it seems all my windows are locked up. I cannot move any window around by dragging. I can only minimize or maximise the window, nothing else. this is crazy and is driving me nuts. i'm running 10.9.3 on mid 2010 mbp.

New 16GB iTouch - cannot manually drag/drop songs

I just purchased a new 16GB iTouch this past wkd from the Apple store. (As background I have previously owned the 1st generation and latest iPod nanos). After reading some of the posts, I decided not to upgrade the software to v3.0.
I connected the iTouch to my computer, and it is recognized by iTunes. I unchecked any related "automatically sync" features and made sure that "manual sync" was turned on. However, I still cannot seem to "drag and drop" songs from my Music Library to my iTouch; I also cannot "drag and drop" any of my playlists. I have not even tried to bother with my photos. Also, please note, my iTunes works just fine with both of my iPods.
Please help!!! Am I having this problem b/c I am not upgrading the iTouch software to the new version?

roaminggnome - thanks for your quick reply. Apologies, I should have been more specific in my post. So that my songs would not be automatically synched, I had previously checked the box under devices/my ipod/summary/manually manage music" - I also had done so for both of my old iPods.
I already downloaded the manual and read thru a bunch of older posts and I could not find any reference to this "drag/drop" issue.

I can't manually drag files to/from my external hard drive to my macbook air!

My laptop is running on 10.9.4 (freshly installed, quite literally two days ago).
I have all permissions to read and write on my hard drive, and it is formatted in MS-DOS (FAT32). It worked yesterday when I moved music on the laptop but now when I try to move other files (even within the hard drive itself) I can't. Help please! The only way I can move anything to and from the hard drive is to copy-paste is but I cannot manually drag anything.

On a certain website the window size has become so huge I cannot use certain features and am unable to reduce the window size myself. It went huge as I was moving the cursor and I have been unable to ajust this. How do I alter screen size manually?

Sometimes when moving the cursor the window size on certain sites reduces or increases. This happens randomly and I am not able to make it happen to change the size of the screen to my choice. The window on a particular site is now so huge I am unable to use features on there as they do not come into view on my window at all. Please help me on how to control this feature or in other words how do I increase or decrease the window size manually.

I cannot view quicktime window normal size and still see control butttons (pause, play etc.)
I search this forum and found another previous similar question, but the answer. (To use control+0, which would make it half-size.), is not what I need.
What I need is to have a nice fuller size view, (not the narrow little half-size), but any way i find of doing that hides the controls below the bottom of my screen!
I cannot resize it from any side, except the bottom r. corner, which is hidden with these desireable fuller options.

Update: this was my mistake - I had neglected to configure all the view containers in the WebDynproCO window, which was generated by adding the GP interface to the component. All is well.

Swipe down from the middle of the home screen - not from the top of the screen - move down a little bit and swipe down. The Spotlight Search field should appear at the top.

The same printer was working OK with my old PC with OS Windows 7
However I got a new PC with OS Windows 8.1 64bit
I installed the new driver for HP Photosmart B110a that I dowloaded from HP site. Driver forWindows 8.1 64bit.
In addition to not being able to chose the paper size, also when I go to Printer Properties in Options, all the characters are non-ascii.
Do you know what may be the problem?

Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some issues when attempting to print from your computer.
I also see that you stated that not all the options are available in the printing preferences options. This could be because the installation was not complete or it failed.
I suggest that we do a complete uninstall/ reinstall as well as some additional steps.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
If you have the printer connected to the computer with a usb cable, please remove the cable from both ends and leave it disconnected until further notice.
The next link that I have for you will give you detailed instructions for Uninstalling the Printer Software. Once the uninstall is complete, reboot the computer so that the changes take affect.
When the computer is back up and running, please disable any firewalls or anti virus protection you may have running. We don't want anything getting in the way of the reinstall.
The following download is the HP Photosmart Full Feature Software and Drivers. Save this download to the desktop of the computer so that it creates its own icon. This will make it easy for us to find when the download is complete.
Double click the new icon and follow the installation instructions. The installation will give you connection options (Wireless , usb or Ethernet), if connecting usb, please wait for the prompt to connect the cable. Connecting the usb cable before hand can cause an issue with the installation.

How to change Default Finder Windows Size?

Hi all:
New Finder windows show Macintosh HD and there is no problem in keeping the size or view options every time I open a new window (command + N).
I can change "New Finder windows show" to another folder and works just as well.
But when I open a folder in a new window (double click on an icon folder) the size of the window is very small and different from the window displayed by using command + N.
Finder saves and applies default view options to all windows without a problem, but not the default size or in other words:
default windows size is different from new finder windows size.
In Snow Leopard I could change default size of all windows holding down the Shift key while dragging and changing the size but in Mountain Lion it does not work.
I have also deleted all files .DS_Store but neither works.
I searched a lot but can not find a solution to this problem.

As far as New Finder Windows (command+N) are concerned, there's no problem.
All other folder's Finder Windows I have not modified manually are displayed with the default size shown in the attached image. That is the window size that I want to modify.

Windows vista home premium iTunes window size doesn't fit properly

I am using windows vista home premium. In iTunes when I maximize the iTunes window, it doesn't fit the screen, it is a little too big and I cannot see the side scroll bar. To fix it, I have to restore the window, manually modify the size and the maximize it. Is there a fix to this? Or is an unknown little bug?

Have you checked the HP Website and Microsoft Support websites to see if they have any solutions to your problem? Since there could be multiple things causing this, I would check at the places I mentioned first and see if their knowledge base contains an answer.

Why is CS6 Zoom change window size is different then previous versions?

Why in CS6 when zoom changes window size and a folating window fits in Photoshop window or on other display screen do I get scroll bars where a select all selection marching ants are not visible on all four sides till I drag out the window to get rid of the scroll bars so I can see all of marching ants. In preious versions of Photoshop space for scroll bars is present but there are no scrool bar, select all marching ants are visible on all four sides when an image's window fits in Photoshop window or on second display. Is there a way to make CS6 work like previous versions? Also if I just open a document and Photoshop fits it to Photoshop window or second display the floating window is correct without scroll bars. Zoon add then even when not needed....

Without manually resizing each open document window on my Mac, Photoshop 13.x would be simply unusable.
I hadn't posted anything on the subject because the system on which I run Ps 13.0.1 is based on a laptop (MacBook) literally rescued from the trash and with minimal specs. The graphics card is not even involved in processing.
I put up with it because I'm basically using it to run ACR 7.2RC1, then bring the converted and ACR-adjusted onto my regular working machine running CS4.
In a nutshell, nothing will make the window fit the main monitor, not Fit To Window, nor 100% view, nor any shortcut.
I need to drag the window manually from the lower right-hand corner in order for it to fit the monitor. Otherwise, there are substantial gaps on the right and at the bottom. I never run in tab view.
For the sake of thoroughness:
2007, 2GHz MacBook 2,1, Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB of RAM (can use 3 GB), 160 GB internal boot disk, dedicated FireWire400 external HD for Ps scratch disk, external Time Machine HD. Dual external monitors + built-in laptop screen Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
The Mac-Intel is used for no other purpose than running ACR 7.2RC1 and the only other application I occasionally run on said Mac-Intel is TextEdit.
My main working machine is a Power Mac (PPC) G5 Quad with 16 GB of RAM, on which 11.0.2 is the last version of Photoshop to run, so I have the Mac-Intel system described above just to run ACR 7.x under Photoshop 13.0.1. I convert my raw files in ACR7.x open them in Ps 13.0.x and save them via Ethernet to an external HD connected to the G5 Quad for further processing in CS4.
2.5 GHz Power Mac (PPC) G5-Quad; 16GB RAM; mutant, flashed 550MHz nVidia GeForce 7800GTX 1,700MHz 512MB VRAM; ATTO ExpressPCI UL5D LP SCSI card; Mac OS X Tiger 10.4.11 and Leopard 10.5.8 boot drives; intrusive Spotblight, Dashboard and Time Machine permanently disabled; dual 22" CRT monitors; USB wireless 'n' available but connected to the Internet via wired Ethernet; FW flatbed scanner; 2 SCSI scanners (one tabloid-size transparency scanner and a film scanner); various internal & external HDs; FW Epson 2200 and Ethernet Samsung ML-2850ND printers; 2 X Back-UPS RS 1500 XS units.

Cannot Manually Add Top Sites

This problem is driving my nuts.
On both of my Macs, I cannot manually add URLs to Top Sites as I used to be able to. Dragging a URL into a Top Sites window (in "Edit" mode), does nothing. It used to allow the URL to be dropped in an available space, manually creating a Top Site.
This isn't working on my 2011 MacBook Pro, and I was curious to see if it would work on my new Mac Mini that I just got, out of the box....nope.
Both Safari 6.0.1 and OS X 10.8.2
Reset Safari > Reset Top Sites has no effect.

I have the same problem.
It would be nice to have a suggestion for solving this problem.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions.
Exactly the same as any other window on your Mac - grab the lower right hand corner and drag inwards.
Other useful tips: -h will hide the window
 -tab will switch between apps. Hold the keys depressed for a few moments to see all the running apps... tap the Tab while holding the  key and you can choose the app to make active.

Window size, and navigation issues with Web Dynpro and GP

I have a Web Dynpro application which navigates to other Web Dynpro applications. I also need to integrate this application into a GP. When I create a process that calls the Web Dynpro app, two things I've noticed are:
1. The window size presented in the GP process is too small, and there is no way to scroll to see the rest of the app. How can I change the initial size of the Window to show the entire application? This is an absolute show stopper...
2. Other functionality is made available to the Web Dynpro app by navigating to other Web Dynpro applications. Outside of the GP, this works correctly. However, from within the application when started via a GP, I get the following error when I try to trigger an action that will lead to a navigation event:
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Cannot navigate via outbound plug CreatePdf of view TestView because there is no navigational link attached to it
at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.view.View.navigate(View.java:541)
at com.sap.tc.webdynpro.progmodel.view.View.navigate(View.java:462)
Any ideas? Do I have to manually instantiate the various components when the root Web Dynpro app is called from a GP?

Browser Window Size via an LMS

We post our movies to an LMS and everything works just great.
One thing: I'd like the movies launch via theLMS to appear in
a specific window size. I can edit the .html files and manually
paste a javascript into the file to make this happen. But that
means I have to edit the html file each time. That can be a bit
problematic considering we have several hundred movies.
I believe that editing the seed "standard.htm" file with a
javascript will make this happen. Is there another seed file that I
need to edit as well? For instance, is there something I need to do
to the scorm_support.htm file located in the Scorm Support folder?
Either way, does someone have a javascript I can paste into
either file? I cannot seem to be able to make this work.

I'm not sure if you found it, but since you are using
Captivate, you can
modify the "template" file (depending what version of
Captivate, it's found
at "C:\Program Files\Macromedia\Captivate\Templates\Publish")
and find the
AICC.htm or SCORM.htm files for editing. NOTE: This would
only affect the
size of the Flash application in the browser.
If you want to affect the actual browser window, you can
[potentially] make
a change in your LMS, if it's supported as previously
suggested OR you can
make a new HTML file that redirects to your
Captivate-published file. This
is more tricky if you need to support the AICC standard. I
think I have
something around - are you using AICC or SCORM?
Oh, to affect the actual browser window - you really want to
do this when
the browser is LAUNCHED and thus should modify the thing that
actually
launched the browser (whether this is the LMS or a new
browser file that
launches another browser window using the settings you want).
