Cannot merge pictures in CS2 and blend them

I'm trying to merge two pictures that are side by side but overlapping.
I'd like to have the ed of the first one fading into the next one but I have tried everything that is suggested on the help menu, and on the forum, such as adding a mask layer and try to use the gradient (not working!), adding an adjustment layer and using gradient (Not working either!!) so far nothing seems to work.... !!!

Drag a marquee to select the overlapping area, make sure mask is selected, drag gradient across

To take photos from iPhoto and put them onto a folder on Desktop, first create a folder on Desktop. Right-click on Desktop and create a new folder.
Then, open iPhoto, and you have two ways to export photos:
1. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key (or go to Edit menu > Select All, if you want to copy all photos), and then, drag them to the folder on Desktop.
2. Select the photos you want to copy to Desktop with Command key, go to File menu > Export, and follow the steps.

ITunes cannot find find on NAS and marks them with "!" - Only double-click helps

I have placed my iTunes library on my Synology NAS. After I (hopefully) got rif of my connection problems by switcvhing from afp to a nfs connection there is still another probem: iTunes does not "find" the songs on the NAS after have started it and marks them with the "!" sign on the left side of the name. If I double click on the song, that one is now properly found and play... This is somewhat "not useable", but it works when I am sitting in front of my Mac....
BUT:
When I connect to my iTunes library from my AppleTv or my iPad when I want to stream some music to the AppleTV, only those songs are available that I doubleclick some time before - when they are marked with that "!". This behavior of course is not "usable" at all.
MY QUESTION:
Is there some way to force iTunes to scan the libray and find those songe marked with "!". I know that sometimes iTunes asks for finding some of the not located songs but even then not all of the "!" are gone. That only happens when I double click it manually or show iTunes the song in the "find" dialog that pops up if it really cannot find the songs.

IPhone 6, and storage.. Why is my phone saying that I don't have storage, when I have transferred all of my pictures to ICloud, and deleted them off of my phone. What is going on...???????

I have uploaded my pictures to ICloud, and i have deleted them off of my phone. My phone is saying that it is out of storage, and that pictures take up more than anything else on my phone, How can that be, I am frustrated, and Apparently I am not the only one experiencing these problems. My friends that have the 6+ are experiencing the same issues.

Did you delete your photos in your deleted photo folder? I you didn't their still on your phone taking up space.

I have the same problem and I'm not sure this addresses it. I want to subscribe to iTunes match using my Mac; the intention being that I can then remove all the subset of my tunes from the ipad mini, and when travelling listen to music on the iPad mini via iTunes Match.
So the question still remains, does the music stored on my iPad mini get automatically removed when i subscribe to iTunes Match, or do I have to remove it??
Also, my iPad mini is showing that 1.8GB of storage is taken up by music at the moment, will all of this be freed if I subscribe to iTunes match and delete the music (irrespective of whether this is done manually or via an automatic delete).

How do I merge my iTunes libraries and make them accessible from multiple Systems?

Our family has several Macs using several versions of OSX.
My Music collection, mostly converted from my large collection of CDs, is scattered across all the Macs and several hard drives with Systems running OSX 10.6.8, 10.8.5 and 10.9.4.
The older Macs can not be upgraded to either Mountain Lion nor Mavericks.
My most organised library is the latest on the Mac running Mavericks. It is tidy ALAC, and has all the correct metadata such as covers, composers, ISBNs etc. So I have started by organising those onto an external 1.5 Tb Hard Drive in a folder called Central iTunes Library.
I intend to then go through the Libraries on the other hard drives and systems and add them to this central external collection.
1. Will I be able to open the Central Library (created in iTunes 11.2.2) on the older Macs and Systems directly, by plugging in the hard drive?
2. Is there a better way than reopening the files from the other Systems and Hard Drives and importing them all over again into the Central Library?
eg Drag and Drop or File > New or a Dedicated Utility for the purpose
3. Is sharing from my Mac, the only way to let everyone access the library?
4. Will the other Macs be able to add to the Central Library once it is shared from my Mac?
5. How do we manage our various iPhones, iPods and iPads with one central Library?
6. Are there any hazards to watch out for?
7. What is the best way to have a duplicated backup of the library?

The concept of a central library sounds great (in principle), but unless you can all follow the same rules about handling playlist/ folder/ genre naming it can get into a mess. Are you sure you want to see all of your son's & wife's music when setting up iOS syncing? I also suspect your son & wife may have a different opinion about accessing all your music (with it's larger ALAC file size) - they may be happier not sifting through all your tracks to find the ones they like for use on iOS?
The store authorizes to the Mac not the library - so as you move around on each Mac & use your AppleID to purchase that Mac will get tied to that AppleID. That would be fine accept iTunes has a 90 day limit on changing the Apple ID on a computer. You will have to wait 3 months to switch to using another Apple ID to download music & apps on that device - that also affects apps that sync from iOS for backups.
Personally I think that users need their own Mac with their own library (& each Mac needs to be backed up), especially if they have their own iOS device that needs syncing to a Mac. Home Sharing is ok for moving files that you want to hear from another library - but it can be bad when a client is on wifi.
iTunes is designed to be a single user who can share over the network - it isn't intended to be one large bucket for every family member to store media, the Apple ID issue makes this pretty clear to me.
Your flaky wifi issue sounds like a reason not to rely on anything that requires networking to work too.
You are correct to worry about the library versions, eventually an iTunes update will alter the library format. Only machines that have that version can open the library - this happened from iTunes 10.7 to iTunes 11.
See how many 'old libraries' you have in the Music/iTunes/Previous iTunes Libraries/ folder - that indicates how many times iTunes has backed up & upgraded the library. Is that more than expected? Major iTunes versions will need to be performed at the same time to keep it all working with the 'central music library'.
You may be tempted to access one iTunes library over file sharing on multiple Macs. This can cause problems when one Mac updates something (placing a file lock on the library file). It's hit or miss whether the other Macs can read & write to the library.
PJRS seems to be using a networked iTunes library - I can't understand how it works with iTunes from Tiger to 10.9? What version of iTunes is used PJRS?

I cannot drag items (files, maps) and drop them. And neither can I copy paste anything, not even text!

I just bought a new MacBook Air, at the start of November. And recently I can't copy files or maps, and neither can I drag and drop them. This get's really annoying as I kinda need this possibility when I study! Please help!

i am having exactly the same issue, however my problem started prior to updating to 10.5.7. I updated in the hope that it would resolve the issue.
copy and paste no longer works. Cut works but i can not re-paste the copied/cut text. Neither mouse or keyboard shortcuts work.
i can select, click, double click etc with no problems. Applications and files launch when i click them, scrolling etc works fine.
2 things i have noticed:
1) Spotlight has dissapeared from my menu bar. Keyboard shortcuts for Spotlight no longer work. I have been into spotlight preferences and all seems normal, yet still no spotlight.
2) When i hover over a link or icon, often additional information pops up. This is no longer happening. It's almost as if the system doesnt know where the mouse cursor actually is on the screen.
While i still have a useable system, it is extremely frustrating not having the most basic functionality of cutting and pasting, draging and dropping, he ability to move files and icons around etc.

Putting pictures on CD and getting them from my hard drive.

On my last question I asked for help in learning how to use Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 and got some help which is great. After veriew of the data I have these questions. 1. How can I add pictures to a CD using this program? 2. I have many pictures on my hard drive and would like to tansfer some of them to this program. Can it be done? Thanks for all your help. Gerry

The thing to keep in mind is that Organizer is a database program (the catalog is the database). Wherever you have your photos stored on your computer, when you "import" them into the Organizer catalog, what you're doing is storing their location in the database tables. Think of the database as having "links" to the actual location of the photos.
Once the photos (locations) are in the catalog, Organizer has commands that will move the physical files on your computer and update its database with the new location. That's the best way to handle photos that are already in the database, but I don't think that's the question you were asking.

I am in Brasil, here they have a different carrier. When i go back to the US is there a way I can save everything from my Iphone (contacts, pictures, videos, etc) and transfer them to a US carrier?

Data on the phone has absolutely nothing to do with what carrier you are using. No data is stored on the SIM at all. If you have a (legitimately) unlocked phone, all you should have to do is put your new SIM in the phone and carry on.

I cannot move pictures from iphoto to the desktop

I have a MacBookPro.
I cannot take pictures from iphoto and then drag them somewhere else, whether its on the desktop, in a folder or on a usb key: they do not want to more out of iphoto.
I have tried to put my computer to sleep and wake it up: it doesnt work.
I have tried to 'export' the photographs: it doesnt work.
I cannot afford to loose any of these photographs therefore reseting my iphoto is not an option.

You do not ever directly access the contents of the iPHoto library - use the media browser - in the lower left of the insert window under media ==> photos ==> iPhoto

Let's say i make 2 circles with 2 different fill colours. Then i intersect and blend them with multiply. Is there any way to save the colour resulting on the intersection?

Duplicate the 2 circles.
Object > Flatten Transparency.
Select the intersection colour and add it to your swatches.
Get rid of the duplicated objects.

You will want to open iPhoto, go to the iPhoto menu and select Preferences. Under the General tab, next to Connecting camera opens: select iPhoto. Close the preferences and quit iPhoto. Reconnect your iPhone 4. iPhoto should open automatically and offer to import your pictures. Import them and then do what you want with them.

What happens when you try to use the clone stamp tool?
It should work with the images side by side.
You can setup photoshop cc to be like photoshop cs2 was on your other mac, by going to Photoshop>Preferences>Interface and unchecking
Open Documents as Tabs and Enable Floating Document Window Docking
And also going to Window and unchecking Application Frame

My iphone 4 will not charge or connect to a charger so cannot connect to itunes or be plugged in..how do I back up my pics and get them?

A few days ago my phone decided it would only charge when it was shut off or on a car charger...from what I have read it sounds like it is some chip possibly because they tried changing my charging port and it did nothing. My main concern right now is more about the 1100 pictures I have on there and getting them off. My 3 months old entire 3 months of life are on that camera and my photo stream is only showing 59 photos. How do I either get my pics into my photo stream or somewhere I can retrieve them with out emailing 1100 pictures. The place I went gave me a fully charged battery to try and get everything off my camera and I tried everything before it died. I tried backing it up and it kept failing? I tried sharing all of the pictures on icloud and still cannot see them anywhere. I am slightly freaking out here and hesitant to get it fixed with out getting pictures off it just in case something went wrong and they all got deleted or something and I honestlyl really do not want to pay a bunch to fix it because we are upgrading in a few months. Any help will be greatly appreciated because I will die if I lose those picutes.
