  • I have entered my password but it is saying not recognised and now I cannot access my ipod! Help please

I turned my Ipod touch on and it asked me for my password which I entered but it is saying it is the wrong password - I always use the same.  I now cannot access my ipod.  Not sure what to do??

I'm sorry but the only way to enter your iPod again Is to restore it to factory settings. go to iTunes and click on your iPod then click the Restore button. This will restore your iPod to factory settings. So back up your Music, Videos, and purchases before restoring. This will work trust me

  • Cannot Connect to iPod Update Server

I have a 30 GB Video iPod, and my computer is running Windows XP Media Center. I can connect to iTunes and download songs, movies, podcasts, ect. But whenever I try to update my iPod's software to the newest version it says that it cant find an internet connection. I am using a D-Link Wireless system, and everything else seems to work fine. I can get on the internet, use Xbox Live, connect my laptop, and even download the newest version of iTunes. But I can never get the iPod update to work at all. Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Why can't you set it to manually update?
Connect your iPod to the computer. When it appears in iTunes go to edit-->preferences. Click the iPod tab. Set it to manually manage music. Click OK.
    Why doesn't that work?

  • IPOD UPDATER HELP!

When I try and update my ipod with the new software it will only let me restore. I have the latest version of itunes and I do not want to restore my ipod I want to update it. I know it needs the update, because it says (needs update). The update button is greyed over, somone please help. Thanks so much.

I have also just been sabotaged by the latest "updates" My older 15GB iPod wont sync with some of my content- I need to update my iPod, says the message . After down loading the updater, when I try to install it it tells me there are no files to install and I am left with iTunes not communicating with my iPod.
As a multiple Mac owner (and stockholder) I am outraged. Particularly as I am leaving on a two month business trip today, and the new version of iTunes does not allow transfer of whole libraries between two authorised computers. So I cannot update my Powerbook to take my audio books and music with me. If someone from Apple ever reads these lists. WHAT THE **** IS GOING ON!

  • :"Required File Cannot Be Found' Ipod + Itunes Help Please.

    Hey
I have accidently deleted some files from my Imac, since then I have been receiving a message in Itunes when I try to upload Photos to my Ipod which says ,'Required file cannot be found'.
Is there any downloadable software to restore the missing files?
(Would be prepared to pay for the software)
    Thanks In Advance
    Ricky

Never mind, I figured it out. I think the name contained a symbol that the specific file type wouldn't recognize for a file name or the file name was too long. I shortened and took out the symbol and it worked done. Then re-added them back in the track name once I had it on iTunes. All is well. Answered my own qustion before anyone had the chance to help me, I'm good ;)

  • HT201413 Connected iPod to computer to recharge.  Was told that to syn it on this computer it would delete all data on iPod.  Thinking this mean only music I had on it I ok'd.  Since then iTunes cannot find the iPod.  Help!

Connected iPod to computer.  Started to Syn but came up with if syncing this device may delete saved music.  Accidentally pressed OK.
iPod was originally synced on another old computer no longer in use.

To import music into your iTunes library on the computer go to iTunes>Help>iTunes Help>Add items to iTunes and follow the instructions
Delete the "songs" that do not play in your iTunes library and reimport them.

  • I tried to install ios7 last night and the screen is now on itunes with the usb symbols  Plugged the ipod into the laptop where itunes is stored.  Tried to restore only to be advised that a 3194 error has occured  cannot get any further please help!!

Hi  I tried to install ios7 last night and the ipod touch now has a frozen screen with the itunes logo and the usb logo  I plugged the ipod into my laptop and tried to restore only to be met with the message 3194 error  cannot restore this ipod  please help thanks

Hi. The two user tips both describe a sequence of steps that should get your library from the point where it threatens to wipe data from your device to where it is syncing normally, while recovering as much information as possible. It may still be necessary to wipe and reload the device but this should only take place once all the data that can be recovered has been recovered.
Doing step 1 of 8 and then complaining things aren't the way you want them to be yet strikes me as premature...
Since you appear to have all your media content, and we are discussing an iPod classic, not an iOS device, the main worries are already taken care of. What's left is ratings, playcounts, playlist membership and checked status. Since your device holds only part of your library at best you could only recover the missing data for the content that is on the device using third party tools.
Recreating the previous checked/unchecked status of every track in your library from where you are now may not be that easy. Syncing with selected playlists has many advantages, one of which would have been that you would have a named playlist that could have been retrieved by 3rd party software if you had used this method.
You haven't explained what caused your problem in the first place, but if you have a Previous iTunes Libraries folder holding old copies of your iTunes database (generated with each iTunes update) then it would be possible to restore the most recent of these and then update the library with any changes in your media folder.
BTW Apple doesn't offer free support for this kind of issue with iTunes.

I upgraded from 7.01 to 7.02 today, and half way through the installation got an error message "the folder path 'ipod 7.01' contains an invalid character".
    strange.
perhaps let's first try running through the troubleshooting advice from this document:
Trouble installing iTunes or QuickTime software in Windows
... but if no joy with any of that, let's try getting an itunes 7 installer log to the Apple engineers for a look.
    1. Open a command prompt window. (Start menu -> Run. Type in "cmd". Hit return.)
    2. Drag and drop iTunesSetup.exe onto the window so that the full pathname of the file is at the command line prompt.
    3. Type in a space, then the following line:
    /l*v C:\log.txt
    4. Hit return.
    5. The installer will create a log file:
    C:\log.txt
Find that file and send it as an attachment to this email address.
in the email to Roy, be sure to include the following information:
    - A link to the thread on Apple Discussions where the issue is being discussed
    - The username you are using in the thread
    - The version of iTunes you are using or trying to use
    - the version of Windows you are using (mention service packs)
    - A concise description of the issue you are seeing
    - The exact text of the error message you are seeing

  • The latest iPod Updater File is the problem...

I called Apple today and the cust. support guy confirmed with me that they acknowledge there is an "issue" with the latest file (dated Oct '05). He says it's not a problem, just an issue. I say by the number of people on here complaining, it's a problem. Call Apple to complain, that's the only way to get things fixed.

i am an extremely experienced mac user. i have a home network with five macs. i own 4 differnt ipods including 2 shuffles. the shuffles are no longer recognized and in fact, no longer usable. when i try and play, all i get is alternating green and yellow lights. ipods show up as being connected in the system profiler under the usb ports. they do not show up in itunes or in the finder. all macs are well maintained with the latest updates. all music is ripped frrom purchased CDs. No piriate music or software is present on any machine on the network. the ipod shuffles are both dead now, unusable and are not recognized by any version of the ipod updater.
help help help! and don't just send me to the standard help pages. i have read all the articles and tried all of the proposed solutions. i have run the disk utility on all machines and have found no problems. all disk permissions are verified and repaired. THis is an APPLE problem that I hope you solve soon.
    Please respond!

  • Can't Make iPod Updater 2006-01-10 Inactive Within Software Update

    Hello team,
I've been setting up a graphite CRT iMac at my school here with OS X Jaguar, and in running various Software Update installs, I've discovered the "flaw" I listed in the subject line. Namely, that no matter how many times I attempt to do so, I cannot make the iPod Updater 2006-01-10 inactive. I have literally tried to do so about 20 times (after nearly ever other software update install/reboot), but each time I launch Software Update, the damned iPod Updater reappears in the list. Any idea what's going on here or how to prevent it from showing up anymore? Thanks a heap in advance for your feedback!

Actually, I have been able to make three other SU updates inactive (Bluetooth 1.3.3, iSight Updater 1.0.2 and iPod Driver 3.1) and they DON'T reappear each time I launch Software Update. ONLY the aforementioned iPod Updater 2006-01-10 continues to reappear, despite the repeated attempts to make it inactive. So, obviously something else is afoot here. I continue to welcome any suggestions or ideas.

  • The front camera on my iPod touch 4th generation is frozen. I cannot use it. Updating software does not help. This started right after I bought it, new from BestBuy. What can I do?

The front camera on my iPod touch 4th generation is frozen. I cannot use it. Updating software does not help. This started right after I bought it, new from BestBuy. What can I do? When i go to the camera, it is stuck on a black screen. the only way to use my camera is through other camera apps, but if I try to switch it to the front camera, it freezes again.

If you still have the problem after retoring the iPOd to factory defaults/new iPod then The iPod is likely defective and replacement is required.  You can make an appoinment at the Genius Bar of an APple store or take it back to BestBuy if within warranty
