Cannot move endpoint of slide

Question

for some reason, using captivate 2, when I try to use the
slider to resize some elements on the timeline, such as a text
caption and the overall length of the slide, the sliders will not
move. I'm getting the correct cursor, indicating I can resize, but
it simply doesn't move. What is going on here? I could do it
before, I really really don't want to have to edit all of the times
by hand in the properties menu.

Hi RacyT and DilbertG - and All,
Actually, this is commonly seen, and drives a lot of users
"nutso". And while I grant it is a real problem, I offer the
suggestion that there is also a real fix for it.
When moving an objects' position on the timeline or changing
its duration, I think you'll find it beneficial to get in the habit
of using the mouse (
only) to "select" the object (and be careful to select only
the object(s) you want to manipulate) ...
and then do the actual manipulations using the keyboard.
Specifically:
UP or DOWN (ARROWS): Move focus up or down in the stacking
order.
RIGHT or LEFT (ARROWS): Move selected object right or left in
time of timeline.
SHIFT+RIGHT or LEFT (ARROWS): The
shift key will "tack" the left (starting) position of the
object, while the
right or
left arrow keys will adjust the object's time-of-display to
a longer or shorter period.
Learning (training myself) to think "keyboard, keyboard,
keyboard" for changing stacking order or other "time-related"
properties was the hard part. Once I got used to thinking and doing
things this way, all the work went out of these tasks.
P.S. Though he didn't know it (and still doesn't until he
reads this), my thought processes and subsequent decision that this
is the
only way to approach these tasks was initiated (by posts on
these forums) by Rick Stone, fellow AdobeCommunityExpert and
Captivate instructor. Thanks, Rick!
