Cannot move songs from 'Purchased' playlist on my iPod (touch 8gb)

Soooooo I've purchased a handful of songs on my ipod touch and I cannot move them back to iTunes or to another playlist.
They are all listed in the Purchased playlist from the device.
Only one shows in the Purchased on [device] under Store in iTunes.
Also, they show up under the playlist in iTunes I moved them to but not on my iPod.
I've updated my iTunes software and my iPod, as well, without progress.
I'm not sure if I'm missing something or if there is a larger issue at hand.

They are not moved, they are synced.
What if anything happens when trying to sync content to the device?
Is it actually selected to sync or are you trying to manually manage content on the device?

I am using a macbook leopard why can't i bring songs from my playlist to my ipod i get an error message saying ipod can't be synced disk not found this just started happening

i am using a macBook Leopard and suddenly I can no longer ring my songs from my playlists to my ipods. I keep getting the message Ipod can't by syncd disk cannot be found. this has never happened before and I have 4 ipods that cannot be upedated or changed.

This happens with ALL of your iPods? So, it's probably not a problem on the iPod side of the connection.
If you have not recently (at least since this problem occurred), be sure to restart your Mac. At the same time, you can also Reset your iPod

A Reset just restarts the iPod (it is not a Restore). Then try it again.
If that does not help, select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar, under DEVICES. Over to the right, on the Summary tab, if Enable Disk Mode is currently NOT checked, see if checking it and clicking Apply makes any difference. This is more of a test. If that setting makes a difference, it may provide a clue for the actual cause.

You can sync those different playlists to the iPod, and the song appears on each playlist. However, the song is stored on the iPod once. What is the practical reason for wanting to store the same song file multiple times (and waste storage space) on the iPod?

I have already tried following those steps. I went back and tried to follow them again but they did not work. Some of my songs have synced, some have not. You don't.
You sync your ipods to itunes on your computer.
Everything on your Nano had to come from your computer in the first place, so it should still be there. Sync it from itunes to the ipod touch.

I would like to remove a single song from a playlist. When i connect to my laptop and click manually mangage music, i don't see an option for deleting a song. I can click on the song, but delete does not work. I also tried dragging to the trash, also unsuccessful.

If you want to delete songs directly from the iPod, it needs to be set to Manually manage music on the iPod's Summary screen in iTunes. If you are using automatic syncing, you cannot delete songs directly from the iPod; instead, you update (remove songs from) the playlist(s) being synced to the iPod.
If the iTunes sidebar (left side of iTunes window) is visible, select the iPod under the heading DEVICES. If the sidebar is hidden, from the iTunes menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.
Click on the small triangle to the left of the iPod's name, to drop down the iPod's content list, indented under the iPod. Click on Music there. Over to the right, you see the list of songs currently on the iPod. If the iPod is set to Manually manage music, you should be able to delete songs from that list. Select the song (or set of songs) you want to delete, and press Delete on the keyboard.

Are you using a Macbook?
If all your songs on the iPod are deleted, most likely the photios are gone too.
Unless you put the photos, via Diskmode.
To recover the photos that you've put in Diskmode, use Finder to locate where it is in the iPod.
Try also if iPhoto can locate those photos.

Cannot play song from purchased album

I purchased 2 albums from the iTunes music store - 1) Spin Doctors "If the river was whisky" and 2) Steely Dan " A Decade of Steely Dan". When originally downloaded, all played fine on all devices (via iTunes Match) Iphone, ipad, Macbook Air. But now I am unable to play one song from each album. Specifically,
"If the River was whisky" and "FM". When trying to play the song, I am prompted to enter my Apple ID to authorize the computer, which of course it is already authorized as the other songs from the same albums play. I have de-authorized all computers and just authorized one but still cannot play. Note that the file type of the problems tracks is "ACC audio file" not "purchased ACC audio file"
Help anyone?

Delete and redownload it if doing so is free in your country.

Cannot sync song from iTunes playlist to iPod Classic

I haven't been able to sync a song from one of my playlists in iTunes to my iPod ever since I've updated from earlier programs. The song was added to the playlist manually, but that never mattered before. If I can't clear this up I'm afraid my iPod is useless!

You could try creating a new playlist from that one. Select the complete Playlist and then select New Playlist from selection. In my screenshot, I right-clicked to get this pop-up menu, your iTunes may look slightly different, but the choice will be there somewhere (try the + icon in the bottom left of the iTunes window).
Once you have created the new Playlist, try Syncing that to your iPod. If only that song is missing, that suggests there is something wrong with the song that prevents it going onto your iPod. But if the complete (new) Playlist fails to transfer, then that suggests that something is wrong with your Sync preferences.

Same here but not sure if it is for the same reason. I have trouble downloading the file and hence, it is not on my computer but in "the cloud" and it seems like that is the reason that it cannot transfer the file.

I share a library with my parents, and some of their songs are apparently stored in the iCloud. These songs are showing up in the library on my device with the cloud image next to them, giving me the option to download them from the cloud, but they are already on my device. They play when I shuffle through my library, which is something they shouldn't do if I haven't downloaded them, right? I've tried going to the setting and shutting off the show all songs and all that does is show the same songs as of they are downloaded onto my iPod (which they are). Welcome to the Support Communities! If the songs reside on your iPhone, you should be able to delete them per the instructions below. If you see the download icon, you may need to actually download the song before you can actually delete it from your iPhone. Click on the link below for complete details.
