Cannot now edit existing or new documents

Hi, I've been using iWork - Keynote and Pages in particular and have this simple problem. I have been working on a text doc in Pages which has simple Outline formatting. I opened recently to find I cannot edit it in anyway. This is now also with new documents from the templates. I can copy, CUT and paste into a new doc but cannot select and delete text. This is also the case with other document I've opened and tried to edit. I've checked the user/permissions for the doc and change all to read/write even thought it was set to read/write for me. I haven't yet tried re-installing because I felt it was quite a simple problem although completely debiliatating!

There is no authorisation involved. Apple just trusts you to do the right thing.
It won't have gone back to being demo if you have been running this for years, unless you have done something else you have not told us about.
Have you changed Macs, upgraded OSX and only used migration assist to transfer iWork?
You may need to clean off your existing installation:

If that's the case and you did a security update via software update last week that also caused problems for many. Apple have issued an update to that as well, version 1.1:

Cannot now attach files to new hotmail messages. this used to work. IE okay with this.

Suddenly I can no longer "attach" any files to an outgoing message thru my hotmail account. This used to work fine, and still works fine if I use IE. The "attach" option is there, but it cannot be clicked on.

I've posted this many times & others have posted their methods more than once as well.
This is what works for me. After I installed the new iWork updates I created a folder on an external drive & named it "other applications." I then moved the new iWork apps to this folder & renamed the applications Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. I have icons for two versions of Pages & Numbers (I rarely use Keynote) in my Dock. Even with two versions of Pages & Numbers running, double-clicking an existing file opens in Pages 4.3 or Numbers 2.3. This should also keep the Mac App Store from nagging you to update.

New document Type for bank Transaction

My client place , If I post any Bank Transactions the system accepting for only BP/BR Document type
Now I am define new Document type , in this new document type itu2019s not accepting ( bank receipt )
System shows some error message:
Document Type should be BP / BR for Bank Transactions
Message no. Z_FI005
So I Want to post bank transaction in new Document type also , what type of configuration shall I do

It seems that Validation has been defined in your system to prevent another document type to be used for the banking transaction....
You can check validation defined in transaction GGB0...
Check the validation assigned to your company code in transaction OB28..

Problem opening or creating new document

I am having constant issues opening existing, or new documents. I can do File>New several times and nothing happens, Ctrl+N several times and the dialog finally comes up but then never creates a new document, Ctrl+O for opening any document type does the same, as well as double clicking on an existing file, psd, png, jpg, etc...
If I restart my computer it works fine for maybe a half an hour and then this starts to happen again. I've done some searching and have tried all of the solutions I've found with no results.
Reset Preferences (alt+ctrl+shift) on launch
Deleted the AppData settings folder
removed all plugins - only have official ones
Reinstalled Photoshop CS5.1 several times
Formated computer with a fresh install of windows 7. only thing I installed was PS5.1
Runing under an administrator account with UCAS disabled.
Scanned for malware and virus using Malwarebytes, and Nod32 (before and after formating)
System specs
Windows 7 Home Premium (all up to date)
Intel Core i7 975 @ 3.33 GHz (quad)
Ram: 12 GB DDR3
Video: Nvidia GTX 480 (most recent drivers)
I can provide dxdiag or other info if needed
This is incredibly frustrating and I seriously need some help.

No, this is more likely something specific to their system or their install of photoshop which is causing windows and dialogs to not appear, or events to not be processed correctly.
(and the last time I saw something this ugly, it was malware in a pirated download)
This only started happening recently, to a few people.
So what changed on their systems, or what is different on their systems?
Since we don't have their systems, they're going to have to answer what is diffferent or changed.

Cannot enter anything on new Pages document , Can open, edit existing pages docs

Peculiar.
New Imac 21. inch with IWork installed at Apple Store (1:1 setup). Pages worked fine for a couple of weeks
This week, open fresh document trom template chooser. clean document opens but cannot type on it
Can open existing pages document and work with it.
Can open word or applework documents, work with them and a save as pages document which is workable
It is just the fresh documents
Is the problem the template? IF so, how do I replace the template?

I went to New and cnose a Blank document in Portrait orientation.
Cannot directly type on it
If I first insert a shape, without fill color, I can then write on the document and save it
The issue seems to be the BLANK document
Frankly,I saw this issue on my uncle's new computer, he is new to pages, mourning the loss of Appleworks and was terribly upset when he tried to write a new document choosing Blank and found he could not write on it
He has a vanilla new iMac with nothing on it which might cause a problem
I just replicated the issue on my own Retina display MBP .
"Blank" does not allow input of direct typing.

Cannot add new selectors or edit existing CSS file with my Mac

I have just subscibed to Dreamweaver CC and I cannot add new selectors or edit the exisiting "main" css that comes with the tutorial. When asked to add selector a box appears but when I press enter/return twice it disappears. Also there is no option to edit existing properties. for example, to change a font color I pick color but there is no enter or "OK" option. I'm very puzzled and stuck.

The trial version of Dreamweaver is fully functional. The only limitation is that it stops working after 30 days. If you're having problems with getting the software to work correctly, it might be a good idea to try posting a question in the Downloading, Installing, Setting Up forum, mentioning the fact that you've already posted here (otherwise, they might just transfer you back to this or one of the other Dreamweaver forums).
If you can't make changes to files, it might have something to do with permissions or the user account that you've logged onto the computer with.
When asking for help in the other forum, mention your operating system, and which version you're using. The problem might be related to your computer setup.

I recently upgraded to Yosemite. Now in my Pages documents I cannot select/edit any objects or images. Help Please!

I just recently updated my MacBook Pro to Yosemite 10.10.2
I also updated my "Pages" when asked to.
Now when a open any of my Pages documents, I cannot select/edit any of the objects/images in those documents.
I have gone through the "Pages" help but still cannot solve the problem.
There used to be a "make background objects selectable" button, but I can no longer find it.
I have tried the "arrange tab" > section masters > make master objects selectable, but nothing happened

I checked out your link and I remember the import box popping up when I upgraded from iWork to Pages a few years ago. My problem is with all files (even documents created with "pages" last week. The documents open fine, I just cannot select/edit the objects/images in the background of my documents. Yes, I have tried going through all of the tab menus and layout options and tried "pages" help.
So my problem is that I cannot open documents and adapt them to my next lesson, etc.
Anyone else have any suggestions?

Cannot create new document in Pages09

Trying to create a new document in Pages 09 (has been updated to newest version) on OS X 10.8.2.
When I select New Document, the template browser comes up. When selecting any document in any category, including a blank document, a spinning wheel comes up within the preview of the document and the document cannot be opened. Doesn't matter if I select Choose button, our double-click, or anything.
Pages is not frozen. I can close the window or select something else, but nothing will open. Opening existing documents works.
I've found a workaround by creating an alias of the Templates folder within the Pages bundle on the Desktop and opening a template from there, but need to get this working correctly, as this is on my older parents' machine.
I've tried repairing permissions.
Ideas?

When something that used to work stops doing so, the most likely culprit is corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences, delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plist file & then restart Pages. In Finder, hold down the Option key while clicking on the Go menu & your user Library will appear about halfway down the list.

PDF documents that cannot be edited in Reader for IOS

I've been trying to edit (highlight and add comments) a PDF document on my iPad, but the app is not cooperating with me.
I was able to edit it with Adobe Reader on my PC, but the same file cannot be edited with the ios app. I tried some other pdfs with the app, and in some, the editing options would work, but in others, they would not.
Is there any way that I can modify a pdf when it behaves this way, so that it will let me edit it on my iPad?

Thank you for sharing the PDF document.
I took a look at the PDF document and found out that this problem occurs with certain types of PDF documents (but not all PDF documents). Only text markup annotations (Highlight, Strikeout, and Underline) are affected by the defect in Adobe Reader for iOS.
The good news is that we already have a fix for it. The fix will be verified by our Quality Engineering team and included in a future release of Adobe Reader for iOS. Unfortunately, I am not able to provide the release date for Adobe Reader for iOS.

It used to be that to update the trial to the licensed version with the box, you just inserted the DVD & ran the installer to convert the trial to licensed. This changed with Snow Leopard. You now need to delete the trial & then reinstall from the boxed DVD or the Mac App Store. The files to delete are the iWork ’09 folder from the main HD > Applications; the iWork ’09 folder in HD > Library > Application Support & the individual iWork application plist files found in HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences for each user.
Yvan Koenig has written an AppleScript that removes the files. You can find it on his iDisk in For_iWork > iWork '09 > uninstall iWork '09.zip.

Everytime I go onto the ICloud page it shows my old email and requires the password, but I can't exactly type in a password because that won't work. I can't find a way to change my email or delete ICloud.

If the old ID is an earlier version of your current ID, do the following:
Make sure you are signed into iMessage and FaceTime with your current ID. If they are signed into the old ID, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive and Settings>FaceTime, tap the ID, sign out, then sign back in with your current ID.
Then temporarily recreate the old ID by going to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. (You should not have to verify the old email account so it doesn’t matter if you no longer have access to it.) Now go to Settings>iCloud, turn off Find My iDevice and enter your current password when prompted (even though it prompts you for the password for your old ID). Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Sign Out (or Delete Account if you are not running iOS 8) and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign back in with your current iCloud ID and password (your data will download back to your device).

The Quicken issue has been a hot topic in the Quicken forum as well as many others. Intuit did not provided an updated Quicken when Lion came out. I believe that within the past month Intuit has announced a version that does work in Lion, I looked into it, but was not impressed; there were some technical issues that prevent me from using it (don't recall the details though). Fortunately, I found out about the Quicken mess when Lion came out, and like many users, migrated the quicken data files over to a common format that could be imported into a number of new financial apps like iBank. Intuit lost a lot of Mac users over this.
As for Excel and Word, you have to buy Microsoft's newest version of Office on Mac to be compatible.

My mistake. I should have told you more on the same.
Please open the file in Adobe Acrobat and press Control + D
A new window named as 'Document Properties' will appear in which you have to click on Security tab.
The options under Security tab will appear and will look like in the screenshot given below:
Now, check whether 'Changing the document' option is allowed and also if any Security Method is applied.
