Cannot open acr in bridge.

Cannot open ACR in bridge. But im able to in photoshop using mini bridge only. keep getting a prompt saying "Bridge requires that a qualifying product has been launched at least once to enable this feature. Running windows 7 64bit. never had this issue with CS5. Can someone help?

This is a workaround rather than a cure............................. for cs5 users............
If you are unable to open .jpg files in adobe Camera RAW from Bridge and the Preferences have been set correctly in Photoshop Preferences, and all avenues have been exhausted or you are getting the error message in Bridge when you right click, or  ctrl + r, or go to the ‘Open in Camera RAW’ button at the top of Bridge  and also Getting the error message :
‘Camera Raw Editing Is not Enabled, Camera Raw Editing Requires that a Qualifying Product has been Launched at least once to Enable this Feature’
And Bridge does open up RAW files OK
Try this
1.        In bridge, hit the ctrl + Alt key together and double click the .JPG image, this should open in Camera RAW (but only the one image clicked, not multiple files.
or
2.    Open Photoshop
Go to File.....
Browse in MIniBridge.........
Browse for folder containing images..............
Find image, right click and open in camera RAW
(if you wish to open multiple files,  when a number of images have been selected,  the Camera Raw menu disappears when you right click), however, hold down the Alt + Crtl key together (Windows) and double click any of the highlighted images, they will all open in Camera RAW as they should do.

  • Can't open ACR in Bridge CS6

    Hi,
I'm currently have a problem with opening ACR from Bridge CS6.
I own CS6 Design Standard, student edition (Not sure what version of ACR is included in the suite).
At Uni, they have Adobe CC, which is where I learned how to open ACR from Bridge, without having PS open first. In fact, I also learned that I use the same methods of opening with images other than RAW. However, the ACR button on the toolbar is greyed out, and right-clicking doesn't provide an option to open in ACR. Additionally, the file menu has "Camera Raw" greyed out.
I did some searching, however many solutions involved opening the Camera Raw Preferences within Bridge - this dialogue won't open. I click it... but nothing happens. No loading, no error, nothing. So I can't change the preferences.
I've tried pressing command + shift + option + click on bridge to reset everything, but nothing works.
It may also be helpful to note that I can't even open RAW images via bridge. I can only open into PS - though PS automatically knows it needs ACR. It's still worrying though, that Bridge doesn't even recognise RAW files either.
Is it possible something got corrupt?
I have scoured these forums, however other people had errors, were able to access the preferences, or resetting settings worked. Nothing has worked for me. :\
    Thank you in advance!

Sorry, my mistake. The first step is not under ACR prefs in Bridge but under the general prefs in Bridge (command-K).
For step 2 you are right that ACR prefs can be accessed from either PS or Bridge. "Automatically open JPEGs/TIFFs with settings" and "Automatically open all supported JPEGs"  both work for me (using CS6). In both cases after choosing one of these two options I can (in Bridge) do a right-click on a JPEG or TIF file and get an option to open it in ACR. TIFs have to be regular “one layer“ files, though. When I try it with a TIF with several layers, I don'get the ACR option.
    Yours,
    Ray

  • I cannot open my Adobe Bridge.

I cannot open my Adobe Bridge. It keeps saying check with the developer and see if Bridge is compatible with my MAC OSX version. How do I solve this problem? It is literally impossible to actually speak with a human person about this issue so I am asking the community.

  • Cannot open file from Bridge after saving in Photoshop CS3

I was working on three images in Photoshop CS3, when I went to open them from Bridge for review, two of three files were reduced to tiny white squares with a dogear in the top right corner, a little blue bounding box containing three tinier red green and blue somethings so small I couldn't even see what they were with my jewellery spec.
Nothing happened when I clicked on them, no error message, nothing. I managed to get one of them in 'reveal' - which opened up a larger blue bounded box with the red button containing a cross with the message 'cannot open as not right kind of file'.
What to do please? I don't want to spend hours on an image and hope it will open afterwards. Thankyou.

Thankyou for taking the time to respond. I did notice that I'd forgotten to place a . after the file name and before the extension - ie soiphotopsd, instead of soiphoto.psd, and renamed them and the opened as psds. I would have thought that Photohop CS3 with all it's bells and whistles could have provided a helpful popup/error message to this effect when saving images though!
I still have an old file I haven't been able to open, the icon of which is simply a small blue and white box with the letters pmg on the bottom. I tried to rename the file same as, but nothing seemed to work so far. Will just keep plugin away - forgive the pun.
    Thanks again.

  • Cannot open ACR preferences in bridge

I get the 'qualifying product' error.  I have updated it to the latest ACR, opened PS4 first, and luanched bridge from there...all with no luck.
Is tehre a dead link somewhere that needs to be fixed?  ACR is in the right folder and everything.
I have tried everything i can find online and here in the forums.  Any other ideas?

Hello, and welcome to the forum, Ludwig.
It seems that you missed both the readme ( http://www.adobe.com/special/photoshop/camera_raw/Camera_Raw_5.3_ReadMe.pdf ), or the detailed instructions on the bottom on the very page where you downloaded the update: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4365
The correct location is: Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CS4\File Formats . You will need to remove the other copy from the Photoshop tree.
Please post this information on the other forums where you also saw unresponded questions on the same topic, so that you can help others!

  • I cannot open files in Bridge

Suddenly I cannot use bridge in CS3. I can use a shortcut to open the bridge page. Then when I try to open an image I get a box that
    says "Windows cannot find F:\programfiles\adobe\adobephotoshopcs3\photoshop.exe"
This is way outside my computer skills. I don't even have and F drive on my computer. It is as if Bridge is looking for an execute
file on a drive that does not exist. Also, when I click the bridge icon in cs3, nothing happens. Also, when I go to files-browse
    in cs3, again nothing happens.
I tried the shift-ctrl-alt and checked the three choices but nothing seems to work. I don't know if this is a bridge problem or
my computer is trying to open  file in a non-existent drive. Whatever, it is very frustrating. Would it help if I uninstall CS3 and
reinstall, or is there some simple correction that I am not aware of.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

If it worked before and you have not changed anything, I would try to reset the preferences as a first step.
Hold down the Crtl key and cilick the desktop start icon for Bridge.   You will get a reset window, choose all 3 options.
If it is asking for something you don't have it probably has a contaminated file.  A re-install will probably not change that.

  • Cannot open images from Bridge

I have installed and updated both PhotoshopCC and BridgeCC.
I can display the images in Bridge. However, whenever I double-click on them I get the following error message'
"Windows cannot find C:\Programfiles\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS6 (64 bit). Make sure you typed the name correctly and the try again."  I can open the files from PhotoshopCC without going to Bridge.
    What can I do?
This may be related to the above problem: PhotoshopCC does not seem to set the file associations.

I deleted and reinstalled Photoshop CC. Everything seems to be ok now.I think I have solved the problem. If you have Photoshop CS 6 in your system and then install Photoshop CC, Photoshop CC overwrites all pertinent entries in the file association. The problem comes when you then de-install the older version. The uninstall procedure erases all the file association emtries, although they are labeled as CC. This leads to the problem desribed in my first post. One can solve it by uninstalling and then re-installing Photshop CC. What seemed to be a "Bridge" problem is relly a "Photoshop" problem. If you want only one Photoshop version on your system, uninstall the older version before you install Photoshop CC.

  • Camera Raw cannot open jpegs from Bridge (CS5 trial)

Can not open jpeg pictures in camera raw from Photshop bridge. I have the trial version of CS5.
Message title was edited by: PECourtejoie

Have you updated Photoshop to version 12.0.4 and the Camera Raw plug-in to version 6.6?
Have you set your Camera Raw and Bridge preferences to use Camera Raw for JPEGs?

  • Acr opens raw in bridge but not in photoshop cs5

When opening a raw (RAF ) file in bridge everything  works fine ,when I want to open the file, ps cs5 opens the file, no problem.
But when opening the same file in ps, acr comes up and when I click open image, I get the message " could not comlete your request because there  is not enough memory (RAM)".
When opening acr in bridge and then: open image, ps works fine.
I just upgraded my mobo ,memory and processor ( i7-2600k .8Mb). Still running windows xp 32bit with intel hd 3000 video ,dual monitor. Never had this problem before with less memory and pentium 4.
    Very strange. Any ideas?

What type of RAW files are we talking about, NEF,CR2 or other?
Bridge is just a flle browser, and RAW files are opened and edited in Adobe Camera Raw.  Do you just get a thumbnail, but it willl not open in ACR?
Does ACR work with other RAW images that have not been corrupted.
Do you have a backup (highly recommended) of these images somewhere?  Should be on seperate physical drive or on a DVD.

  • Cannot open CR2 files in Elements 8 or Bridge

Hi, I hope someone can help me! I shoot in RAW, and have always edited my pictures in Camera RAW via Elements 8. I recently upgraded my old Dell to a new Mac, and now I'm having trouble. I cannot seem to open the RAW files in Elements, this is what I get when I try to open a file with Camera Raw (I know it says Photoshop Raw, but I do have Camera Raw selected):
When I try to open a RAW file in Adobe Bridge, it's not even an option, it's grayed out. BUT, it will let me open jpegs in Camera Raw in Adobe Bridge! So confusing. So far I have tried updating the Camera Raw plug in. I followed the directions exactly, but no dice. When I look at the "about plug in" section on PSE, it shows that it is the updated version, 6.2.0.29. But when I look at a jpeg in Camera Raw through Adobe Bridge, it says Camera Raw version 5.0.
Any ideas? I have a camera full of RAW files waiting to be edited and I'm so frustrated. Any help will be much appreciated!

You can update ACR in PSE i farther than you can update ACR in bridge (adobe cut bridge off as soon as CS 5 came out, but PSE 8 got a few more updates).
You don't mention the camera model.Photoshop raw and camera raw are two different things. How are you opening these files? You do know that you don't need to mess with the format section of the open window? Just select the file you want and it will set itself to the right format for you, so ignore that.

  • Can't Open ACR files from Bridge in Photoshop CC 2014

I Can't Open ACR files from Bridge in Photoshop CC 2014.  I have uninstalled the programs, and all other versions of PS several times, but no matter what I do, I can't open a raw file I have opened in Bridge, in PS CC 2014. I have to click Open in Photoshop CC 2014 in Bridge.
Also, on my workstation PC (Win 7 64bit), if I don't open PS prior to opening Bridge, then when I try to open a file from bridge it says it can't run PS on an earlier Operating system than Win 7!
I have done exactly the same instalation on my notebook, same OS, and everything works perfectly - I just don't understand.

Guys! This question was asked almost two months ago, and still no-one has replied? I'm still stuck, no matter what I have tried, I cannot find a solution. And please don't ask me to re-install AGAIN, I've done this several times and it simply does not work.

  • Cannot open some jpgs in Camera Raw from Bridge

A couple of days ago, I rated select images from a set as 5 stars, and now I cannot open these in Camera Raw from Bridge. I get no error messages or anything, there is just simply no option to Open in Camera Raw from the File menu, or the right-click menu. The images I did not rate still open in Camera Raw, and not all of the starred ones have this problem - just 20 or so consecutive images. This makes no sense to me, as all the images as far as I can tell should operate the same way. They are all jpgs. I can find workarounds to this like working in Photoshop (all the images still open in Photoshop) or possibly just reloading the photos from the memory card, but I'd like to know why this would even be a problem to avoid it in the future. I'm using CC on Win 8.

I should add that JPGs edited with ACR usually need to be writable for ACR to be able to store the adjustment-settings inside themselves.  RAW files typically use an XMP sidecar to store settings, but JPGs typically don't.
If the files weren't read/write then ACR would have no way to store the adjustments in them and so is smart enough to not make them available for editing.
The other hint is that if you copy the files to your desktop--where the permissions are likely to be more friendly, they work.
To check the permissions, right-click on one of the files in Explorer, select Properties from the context menu and look at the Security tab.  Look at the various user-groups, like Users, Authenticated Users, Administrators, etc, and see what access each has to one oft he problem files, and then to one of the files that works ok.
You might also check the Effective Rights of a particular user to a particular file by clicking on the Advanced button in the Security tab.  Here is an example where I show only Read + Read & Execute access to an NEF for general users, but when I check my own logged in User (steve) I have Full Control which includes all the other access privileges, and this is either because I'm in the Administrators group or I am the owner, I'm not sure.  It is possible that Bridge or Photoshop is running in a user context other than your logged in user, or it's possible that another user accessed the files and changed the permissions to them.
