Cannot open any app, doc or message by clicking on their icon?

Any app, doc or message that I try to open by double clicking, either with the mouse or keypad, on the primary icon will not open that item. All that happens is that the icon is highlighted. I then have to open with Command+O or if the item is in the dock it will open by clicking. For example, I can open Safari from the dock but not by clicking on the icon in the Application folder.
I have tried everything that I could to get back to normal…DU from install disk; DU in computer; fsck; reset PRAM; reset PMU: reinstalled 10.4.11 combo and removed various pref files as suggested in this forum. Nothing helps!
The mouse will open & close windows and work online once I manage to get into a program. But I can't open email messages by clicking on them and the same goes for keychain items and there is no Command+O.
Frankly I am mystified. I haven't experienced this before with any of the system or program updates. I would appreciate any help please.

Have you checked your Mouse settings specifically +Tracking & Double-Click?+

After the update, I cannot open any apps on my Ipad Air. They open only to close again immediately. All of them. They still run in the background, but none of them will go to a full screen. I cannot reset the Ipad either, because I need to turn off location services first and it will only show me the screen for a split second before it crashed back onto the desktop/home screen. hi, Brett - I'm having a problem now restarting my iPhone.
iTunes (yep, it's the latest Windows version) keeps crashing ("iTunes has stopped working" message).
The installed apps are blacked out with text beneath the icon "Waiting".
And iTunes crashes on step 4 of 4 (Syncing Apps to John Alton iPhone 5S - step 5 of 5). Starts on the first app it tries to reinstall / sync.
I am manually installing each application because I'm unable to bring back from syn. (On the iPhone, in App Store, go to Purchased > Not on this iPhone,
But I'm still unable to run iTunes because it crashes while attempting to re-load the applications and data.
Little help?

Why is there a white box around everything I touch with no response at all?

You have Voice Over turned on. Once you tap the item and see the box, tap it two more times to activate the selection.
Then go to Settings>General>Accessibility>Voice Over, and turn it off. Remember, 3 taps per selection until you have turned it off.

Cannot open any Office product

Hello,
Since today I have been unable to open any Office application (I have Office 2008 for Mac). The Microsoft Office Set up Assistant opens up instead and asks me to register the product. When I click register, it tells me that I don't need to register for Office
2011 (which I have not bought). Thus I cannot re-register and cannot open any app so far. Any ideas as to what I can do to regain access to my Word/PPT documents?

Hi,
As far as I know, registration is not required for Office 2008 for Mac. This issue (the Office Setup Assistant opens when you try to open an Office application) usually occurs when the Office Setup Assistant detects any corruption in the license
file (Product Key) was used to install Office 2008 for Mac.
You might want to reload the software and reenter the produce key that is included with your original installation disk, then try again.

TS1702 Can't open any apps on my ipad

Suddenly I cannot open any apps on my ipad!
Any suggestions.

First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod. As before, say "yes." Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time. If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.

I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

Double tap the Home button to bring up the multi-tasking bar...tap & hold any app until they all start to wiggle...tap the red minus sign to remove every app shown. Tap the Home button when finished. Try to delete the app now.

What country's Store are you using?
The two have to be the same and the payment method for your account also has to be associated (billing address, where iTunes gift card was purchased) with that country.
Has the ID(s) worked before for purchases for this country's store?

Disabling Protected Mode should fix the problem. But since you cannot even open Adobe Reader by itself, you need to do it via the Windows registry. If you tell me your installed Reader version, I can give you a registry script to do that.

Rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) in the Firefox Profile Folder in case there is a problem with the file.<br />
You may have to rename cert8.db (cert8.db.old) as well.
Firefox will create new files.
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

YOu can try resetting your network or a reboot. To reboot hold down the home/power button together until you see the apple logo and then release. Wait for the phone to boot back up, you won't lose any data.

When you password-protected these folders then you did so to prevent anyone from accessing the pictures unless he had the correct password, even if he deleted the password application itself. Are you now asking how to get around this protection? If you
selected a robust protection scheme then you probably got what you wanted: uncrackable encryption. You need to check the FAQs of this application and/or google for clues. Alternatively you could restore your files from your external backup medium (if you have
one . . .).
