Cannot open any Chinese website

My BT cable broadband became active on last Friday.
Ever since, I have not been able to load up any chinese website, even for the big banks in China.
Mine package is BT Infinity 76M, speed test normally give a result between 30-80Mbps. Connection on my side is definitely fine.
My computer and softwares are fine too. On the same computer, I can plug in my O2 mobile broadband donggle, and load up any websites fine including any chinese ones.
I am using a PC, wired connection. This problem has nothing to do with wireless.
Complained everynight with BT broadband technique helpline. Been fobbed off everyday, and did not receive call back after they promised to call me back. From conversation with three different BT people, they clearly made no attempt on my problem. And just simply leave a status of "sloved" on the fault I reported. They are completely useless.
I think I got 10 days from BT posting equipments to me in which period I could cancelled my contract without charge. I will definitely do that, if they do not sort my problem out in the next day or two.
It seems only BT got this problem. All other providers are fine. It is a shame that BT does not even try to solve it.
Has anyone experience the same problem? Does anyone have any insight to share regarding this problem?

Can you post up some links to the websites you are having problems accessing please?

Rename secmod.db (secmod.db.old) in the Firefox Profile Folder in case there is a problem with the file.<br />
You may have to rename cert8.db (cert8.db.old) as well.
Firefox will create new files.
The "Application Data" folder in XP/Win2K and the "AppData" folder in Vista/Windows 7 are hidden folders.

[gnome] cannot open any window

Hello,
Since this morning I cannot open any window. Not exactly because if I double-click on a folder on my desktop, nautilus shows up but if I double-click on a text-file, nothing happens.
If I do ALT+F2, a launcher appears but if I try do start any application (gedit, firefox, terminal or even nautilus), I see a notification in the bottom of the screen ("starting gedit...") but it disappear after a few seconds.
If I try from the application menu, same. Same with the administration tools.
In the conky (automatic startup), I see that dropbox (also automatic startup) is running but I don't have the icon in the top right corner.
Only one or two percent of the CPU is used and a few megabits for the RAM
Yesterday I added two line in my ~/.xinitrc to start mpd but as it didn't work (couldn't start gnome) I removed them this morning and now I have that (but it could have been caused by something else I did yesterday)
Fortunately I have ubuntu on another partition but I want my archlinux back

Disable the built-in application firewall, if it's in use. If you're running a third-party firewall such as “LittleSnitch” or “Hands Off,” disable that. Test.
In some versions of OS X, Parental Controls has a bug that prevents loading of secure websites. Turn it off.
Are the current date (including the year) and time shown on your system clock? If not, correct them and test.
Otherwise, launch the Activity Monitor application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Activity Monitor in the icon grid.
Select All Processes from the menu in the toolbar of the Activity Monitor window, if not already selected. Enter "ocspd" (without the quotes) in the "Filter" text field. Is a process with that name listed?
If not, select Go ▹ Go to Folder from the Finder menu bar. Into the text box that opens, copy the following line of text:
/var/db/crls
From the folder that opens, move these two files to the Trash:
crlcache.db
ocspcache.db

Go step by step and test.
1. System Preferences > Other/ Flash Player > Advanced > Delete All
     Press the "Delete All" button
     Install Adobe Flash Player.

    Follow the prompts. Click Safari in the menu bar and then Quit Safari .
    Restart computer. Relaunch Safari.
2. Allow Plug-ins
    Safari > Preferences > Security
    Internet Plug-ins > "Allow plug-ins"
    Enable it.
    Press " Manage Website Settings" button for more options.
    Adobe Flash Player
    Currently open website:
    All other websites"
    Select "Allow" then "Done".
3. Delete cookies.
     Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
     Press the “Remove All Website Data” button. It may take a while.
4. Turn off Extensions, if any.
    Safari > Preferences > Extensions
     Now try YouTube.

Cannot open any https or ssl apps, have upgraded to mountain lion. Have open all ports outgoing and even tested via hotspot on my iPhone, have changed MTU to 1300....help??

I installed windows 7 recently and also Adobre reader XI, and now I cannot open any of my previously created pdfs. Every time I get the message: Error opening the file. Access denied. What is going on?

Recently I had to install windows 7 in my notebook because XP doesn't have more support. Before installing I backed up all my files to my external HD. Now that I instaleed windows 7 and also installed Acrobat Reader XI, I just cannot open any of my pdf files created prior to installing windows 7.
Looking for help online, I found the solution of security and giving me access as an administrator to all my files, but it still keeps the same...
Can some one please help me out?? I really need to work on many of this files ASAP.

I recently loaded OSX mavericks on my Imac. I now find I cannot open any Adobe products from CS5. The error message reads " to open Adobe illustrator CS5.app, you need to install a JAva SE 6 runtime. Would you like to check and install one?

None of my CS5 suite works anymore............and i really dont want to upgrade to a monthly cloud service fee as i hate this policy with a passion.

I couldn't launch Dreamweaver CC. An error told me to install "java se 6 runtime". But when I clicked OK I got another error telling me there is a network problem! I found this forum post on CS6 products, so I tried the download link, installed java 6 and presto, it worked! Thanks!

I can get on the page and read my mail, etc. like normal if i use Internet Explorer, but I prefer Firefox. The problem is Firefox and I rely on my e-mail for job purposes. Hate to suggest this, but you need to ask in the Flash forum. This forum is for Acrobat.

Disabling Protected Mode should fix the problem. But since you cannot even open Adobe Reader by itself, you need to do it via the Windows registry. If you tell me your installed Reader version, I can give you a registry script to do that.

I cannot open any photo in Photoshop CC 2014 after upgrade the application and drivers of video-card.

Since I have made an upgrade of Photoshop CC 2014 I got a lot of problems.
At first, I could not open any pictures in Photoshop. It works only if I disable "Use Graphic processor". I installed a new driver for my video-card, but it did not help. I use AMD FirePro V4800 for 10-bit colour.
I had to return the system to the restore point (before the upgrade), then it worked somehow, but not stable. ACR from time to time had a blue screen with a white cross.
Now I tried to install drivers for my video-card again, but it resulted in the same issue: Photoshop cannot open any photo. (Other converters and editors and also a new Lightroom work well).
I use Win7x64, i7 2600, 16 Gb RAM, two SSD's, AMD FirePro V4800. I have never had any problems before the upgrade. And I do not want to reinstall Photoshop because I would have to reinstall a lot of plug-ins, I have already lost a whole day.

Interestingly, when I spoke with Apple, I tried it in a new user account and the problem went away. Apple said to speak to Adobe which I have done and after deleting settings/prefs again the problem remained. Adobe say as it's fine in a new account then it's an Apple issue not Adobe.
I did find a workaround for now though, when using file - open, set it to list view instead of column view - this fixed my problem but sadly I'm used to working in column view so it's not ideal!
I also got the same error message when trying to replace a set of brushes yesterday too. I need to go back to Apple now but just need to schedule some time to sit and troubleshoot!

This happens because these are not true links. Links created with Acrobat using the link tool do not have this problem. Acrobat and Reader have a feature that tries to automatically recognize urls so they can act as links, but it fails when the link contains a space.
