Cannot open attachments with my firefox. my wife can with IE

with firefox I cannot open attachments in my emails. I have been forwarding these emails to my wife's email. She is using internet explorer by yahoo through AT&t and then I have no trouble opening them on her email.

hello jrhjmh, are you a yahoo mail user and does it work when you access yahoo mail through this link?: https://mail.yahoo.com/
reference: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/971042
I'm not sure as to what exactly is going on, but it looks like yahoo has changed something on their side that makes certain old urls/servers dysfunctional (you may be currently using those because you've bookmarked them before or through your history) - at least quite a number of other users have reported that...
<br>so using the generic address https://mail.yahoo.com/ as a bookmark should lead you to the current & working url.

  • Adobe acrobat X cannot open PDF files in Firefox, though IE can. What gives?

when I download a page that's a PDF file from the Web, Firefox cannot open it, although Internet Explorer can. I just uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 because I had Adobe Reader X installed.

When I enter about:preferences#applications <Enter> in the address bar, then for PDF it shows:
pdf File (application/x-download) ... Use Adobe Acrobat Professional
pdf File (application/x-pdf) .... Use Adobe Acrobat Professional
Portable Document Format (PDF) ... Save File'''
I would like all PDF's to open in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.
Right now none of the PDF's open at all, so opening in Firefox or any other viewer would be preferred over not showing up at all.

  • Cannot open attachments with .eml extension and this not listed in Firefox Applications.

Have been receiving attachments from trusted friends that have .eml file extensions and they won't open. The Firefox Application list doesn't include this. Any idea how to open them?

.eml files are e-mail files. You need an e-mail program to open them.
Thunderbird is my program of choice, but there are many others (both online and stand-alone on your PC.).

  • Cannot open attachments with diacritics in Thunderbird

When I receive an attachment in Thunderbird that has non-ASCII characters in the name (eg 'españa.pdf') I get an error that the file cannot be opened. The error message shows something like '/tmp/espa?na.pdf'.
Strangely enough, this works in MEPIS, using the same thunderbird binary and the same profile on the same machine. In MEPIS, the system locale is set to en_IE.utf8, in Arch it is en_GB.utf8, not a significant difference I think.
So, I am stuck. I am wondering, is there a way to set an encoding on a file system? Any other setting that might be involved?
    TIA!

I cannot open pdf files in Firefox. (I can in Chrome).
I tried Menu - Preferences - PDF - Use Adobe Acrobat Professional. Also tried the same with PDF Browser Plugin 2.4.4
Clicking on a PDF link just opens a blank page.

  • I cannot open new tabs in Firefox, either with CTRL+T or with the mouse right click or click on the tab icon.

I cannot open new tabs in Firefox, either with CTRL+T or with the mouse right click or click on the tab icon.

I have this problem as well. I could not see the ask toolbar in firefox, yet in the add or remove programs it was installed. As soon as I uninstalled it, I could open tabs again!
    Thanks guys!

  • Need to synch calendar and contacts, but also open attachments with OWA

I have a client with a Tour 9630.  They are using Exchange 2007 so we cannot use BES or BPS on that server (their only one).
His biggest gripe using the redirector was that he could not open attachments.  After doing some digging, I found out that you cannot open attachments unless you are using the BIS service and connecting through OWA.
SO...fought the authentication issues since they have a self-signed certificate on their Exchange box...turned off all the authentication and woila..OWA worked like a charm.
NOW, though, his contacts and calendar no longer synch since he is just hitting the OWA mail!
Is there a way to enable opening attachments while still synching calendar and contacts?
I turned off redirector on the pc since OWA was working.
If I turn the redirector back on to keep the synch going, will he get duplicates of mail?

I've gotten this 4403 error before, and somehow resolved it without knowing how.
THIS TIME, however, I  tried turning off the synch on my Documents-To-Go, and that fixed things.
Checking on other discussions on the internet regarding this "Protocol Error: Too many files. (4403)", I'm seeing a pattern of Documents-To-Go when resident apps are listed, which seems to tentatively confirm my conclusion. The obvious implication here is that one or more versions of Docs-To-Go have a conflict with something in one or more versions of the Palm OS, and/or other 3rd party apps.
I've be interested in whether this works in other users' experiences.

Action Taken: Replaced phone x3. Removed user and re-added to BES x3. Checked all phone settings. Last phone issuance was last week, model 8330. User has not installed 3rd party applications or 3rd party email accounts.

    hello,
I think you will find more useful help if you post your question on the "blackberry enterprise solution" board :
    http://supportforums.blackberry.com/rim/board?board.id=BlackBerryEnterpriseSolution
the current board is read mostly by regular users and not BES admins.

  • I cannot open iCal because of a problem. Can anybody help me? The computer will not allow it to open and sends a message to apple each time. The icon has gone from the dock, but ical works on my iPad and I am afraid to sync it with my computer.?

I cannot open iCal because of a problem. Can anybody help me? The computer will not allow it to open and sends a message to apple each time. The icon has gone from the dock, but ical works on my iPad and I am afraid to sync it with my computer in case it wipes everything .

I have the exact same problem. I have not changed anything. This is probably a bug or something that has gone bad with Mac OS X (10.7.2). I have not found any solution for this on the web.
MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.7.2).

Help, I installed parallel and windows, and opened videos (on an external hard disk) with windows, and now cannot open them with Mac, and use i movies.  How do I reverse this?

Paragraphs help the reader, just saying.
What are you actually trying to do? Why do you need "DVD size" folders if you're creatng an Archive on an external hard drive?
Also, I understand burning folders instead of individual photos or albums gives you more space on a DVD.
It makes no difference at all.
How can I keep the captions on my photos (not events) when I print or transfer to a new folder?
You can export while writing the metadata to the file in most cases.
Tne only way I know is to copy photos from the Windows to folders on my HD, then copy and paste photos or albums or events to HD, then create a new folder and fill it to the appropriate DVD size.
HD? Another HD? You use HD there in a way that makes no sense. What's the point of 'DVD size'?
I also thought I should download future photos to my Canon programming that comes with EOS cameras and edit and then decide which photos to save to iPhoto library and which to save only to my archival HD?
Does this have any relation to the previous questions? You know you can delete from iPhoto, right?
You're somewhat confused and you need to
    1. Decide what exactly you want to do
    2. Then go about it.
If I understand you correctly - and there's no guarantee that I do -  the easiest thing is to bring all your Photos into iPhoto and do everything from there.
You can have an archive on an external disk, you can sort and select and edit with or via iPhoto
    Regards

Adobe Reader installed? If so, remove Reader.
    Macintosh HD > Library > Internet PLug-ins
    Look for these two files.
    AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin
    AdobePDFViewer.plugin
Right click those and select “Move To Trash’.
    Best.
