Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help, and indeed installation can even trigger this state.
Unfortunately, it often then gives misleading error messages about what is wrong.
A common incorrect message informs you that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.
Another is "E_AUTH_NOT_READY"
This can often be resolved by completely removing any authorization using ctrl-shift-D to the Library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D if on Mac).
Restart ADE, and then reauthorize with your (old) Adobe ID.
In extreme cases on the mac, the following extra step has helped some people. Navigate to /Users//Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. Unable to open my email messages on Firefox? How do I fix this?

I am not able to read my emails while I am in Firefox. This has happened about 8 days ago. I don't recall how this happened because I was able to use FF very well & never had any problems. I have been using Internet Explorer because most of my work has to be done on IE, the problem is that IE crashes too many times and its become very slow, I am just sick of it. I decided to use FF to read my emails & to do my PCH sweepstakes and play some games and maybe I would not get the screen crashing effect that I'm getting on IE. However, in order to get to do this I must open my email messages to proceed with the sweepstakes, but for some reason when I click on my messages nothing happens, they don't open up. How can this be repaird? I have even gone as far as deleting FF and re-downloading it again, but the problem still persists. I need help please!
I made a copy of my email screen to place in the box below, but it is not allowing me to paste? I tried clicking on install but all I got was an error message that it could not open up this document because it needs to know the creator. I've tried to open with different programs but it just won't work. Can anyone please give me some assistance?

Cannot Enable Bitlocker--Get Message "Access is Denied"

Hi all. Life as we know it has just come to an end . I purched an new 8 inch Toshiba encore with pre-installed OS 8.1 for the wife 3 days ago and I was setting it up for her. All was going well after few hic-cups yesterday, but other than that O.K until today. Appearing on the top right corner of the screen appeared a notificatiion by Toshiba that a BIOS update was required that would fix a few issues I was advised that after the update I shoulde also install Microsoft downloader or some such name. I connected the power cable and clicked to download. The download all went well and I carried on for a few minutes before I was again advised that the downloader was ready to download, so I did as I was told. The download went as normal for about half way and then all of a sudden the screen went blank for a short time. I thought nothing of this as this is quite usual with some downloads and installation. Suddenly up popped a blue screen telling me that BitLock had been envoked and I should get a key to unlock it. I know nothing of this, and have never used or experimented with BitLock. I was advised to go to a web site and follow instruction. The pad also supplied some number that may/will be required. When I went to that page, all it really was were a FAQ page, and nothing there to help that I could find. One of the suggestions was that I should restore the pad to factory condition, but I do not have any means of doing that not do I know how. Help is desperately need here guys. Regards

the key is in the link I sent. It probably still even contains the key to your previous unlock keys. You can print it out, or from another computer save that page to a text file.

What version of iPhoto? Assuming 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

I get above message when I click on the firefox icon.

This worked, I used the method described in this link http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=365156, and opened the Mozilla profile screen with the terminal on my mac, using the language given in the links. Then I duplicated my original profile to save the bookmarks, etc. Put them in a folder listed Duplicate profile with the date. With the open profile screen, I deleted my original profile, created new profile folder and then a new profile. Note that profile cannot be created in the system library, it must be created on the disc, because the library will not allow writing into it. After I created my new profile folder, I dragged all my old information into it, and it worked. Firefox closed and the error disappeared. You must be VERY careful to make sure Firefox is closed anytime you are doing anything with the profile folders. I think that is what caused my original problem.

Hi Pat..When I tried to run Fix It the computer pops up a screen that says this trouble shooter does not apply to this computer .The article refers to Internet Explorer 10 and Im running Internet Explorer 11. I did try to see it it would fix my problem but the registry entry does not exist on my computer (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth) I can get as far as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer but I dont have the option to choose Main. I only have the option to choose New Window which does not open up when clicked. Internet Explorer also has no value. Is there anything else I should try?

Go into your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder and see if there's a file titled Domain.sites. If there is double click on it and see if iWeb opens.
If there is no Domain file there do the following:
delete the iWeb preference files, com.apple.iWeb.plist and com.apple.iWeb.plist.lockfile, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.

launch iWeb and try again.

I am a Newbie to PS, Running PS 5 on Windows 7, I'm trying to bring up PS using the edit in command in Lightroom, PS does comes up and the photo number comes up in the document tab, I see all the layers but the image is not visible. If I shut down PS and restart and the select open recent, the samee thing happens, Thanks for any assistance

Sounds like one of many manifestations of a display driver bug... If going into Edit - Preferences - Performance, disabling OpenGL Drawing, then closing and restarting Photoshop changes the behavior, then you should visit the web site of the maker of your video card, download/install the latest display driver that matches your hardware and OS, re-enable OpenGL Drawing (making sure to restart Photoshop), and test again. Display driver updates fix many problems. -Noel

Even I am facing a similar problem. Initially the iTunes worked on my windows 64bit edition. Ever since I downloaded the latest version it has stopped identifying my 4S with an error msg that asks me to download the 64bit edition. I have tried it again and again but it did not help.
