I can not open itunes on my computer as msvcr80.dll is missing. How to fix?
Uninstall your existing copy of iTunes. Delete any copies of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe) installer files from your downloads areas for your web browsers and download a fresh copy of the iTunes installer from the Apple website:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
(The current build of the 11.1.4.62 installer was changed a few days ago, which fixed the bulk of the reports of MSVCR80.dll/R6034/APSDaemon.exe/Error-7/AMDS-could-not-start trouble ... but the build number on the installer was not changed. So we're trying to make sure you do the reinstall using a "new good" 11.1.4.62 installer instead of an "old bad".)
Does the install with the new copy of the installer go through properly? If so, does that clear up the error message?
If you still have the same error messages cropping up, then try the procedures from the following user tip:

Firefox 3.6 will not open, uninstalled & reinstalled but still unable to open Firefox or any other web browser except IE8

Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 8.0; Windows NT 5.1; Trident/4.0; GTB6.4; .NET CLR 1.1.4322; InfoPath.1; .NET CLR 2.0.50727; .NET CLR 3.0.4506.2152; .NET CLR 3.5.30729)Sorry Chris but I don't even get that far - after download latest Firefox - I cannot get the installation to work. I get dialogue box with "0% extraction" then nothing also cannot get Opera to install. The installation stalls at the same point of extracting the download. The only browser to work is IE8. I think it is more a Java problem as everything worked Ok until I took a Java upgrade.

Thank you for providing the details of iTunes not opening. I found an article with steps you can take to isolate and troubleshoot an issue like the one you described:

While updating my version of iTunes, I was prompted that MSVCR80.dll was missing
Can anyone help me???????? I was going into iTunes the other day and was promped that there was a newer version so I chose to install. The installation stopped and was told that it couldn't download to try again later. So I did and was then given a prompt/ error message APSDaemon.exe system error. MSVCR80.dll is missing from my computer. I NEVER deleted it so what could've happened to it??? Now I can't get into iTunes at all. How can I locate the dll file and get it onto my computer? Please help, advise.
Solving the iTunes Installation Problems in Windows
1. Apple has posted their solution here: iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows- Unable to install or open - MSVCR80 issue.
2. If the Apple article does not fully resolve the problem for you, then try Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates - MSVCR80. -
I have followed the Apple Support instructions re these 2 errors "The program can't start because MSVCR80.dll is missing from your computer" and 'Error 7' but still not able to run iTunes. Anyone have a suggestion?
Try completely removing and reinstalling iTunes and all related components; you may need to do this multiple times. It won't normally affect the iTunes library, but that should be backed up anyway.

How to install msvcr80.dll after attempted upgrade to iTunes version 11.1.4 on Windows 7?
This worked for me
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall press on)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

I cannot complete the downloading of Itunes on my computer. These are things that keep coming up: 'Apple Mobile Device' failed to start - verify that you have sufficient privieges to start system sources. Also, Error 7 (windows error 126) along with the message: MSVCR80.dll is missing. Any suggestions?
