Cannot open Java-based webpage w/Mac Mini's Safari

Newbie here, in the forum and also within the MAC environment.
I own a 1 TB Mac Mini.
I have been trying to open my bank's webpage which is Java based. When opening, it never finish loading the webpage. Instead, it just stays white and shows the secured webpage address but stops loading.
What I have researched at this point is that :
(1) Java in my Mac Mini could be out of date (FIXED: I have the latest installed as of today, version 8, update 31). I closed all, restarted and still not opening this specific webpage. I contacted my bank and they told me to update, which I did.
am I missing SYSTEM CONFIGURATION or something related to SAFARI's CONFIGURATION or SECURITY-RELATED ISSUE?? any help would be appreciated.
Great support community,
Regards
Max

I do not know how to Edit my last question, sorry.
more info on my problem:
(2) by adding few webpage address to the Exception Site List,  I noted when logging to my bank's webpage the following messages (please see attached pics). Cleary the Java Configuration need to be changed, IMHO.
"Application Blocked by Deployment Rule" -->Java application Blocked. Application blocked because  must meet the requirements for the High or Very Highsecuritt settings, or be part of Exception Site List to be allowed to run.
The application was blocked even dough the host site of the html file at http:// XXXXXXXXXXXXXX is included in the Exception Site list because application refers to multiple domains.
Reason: The JAR file at https: xxxxxxxxxxx is at different domain and is not also included on the exception site list.
Any comment will be appreciated. Still researching. tis

  • I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

I cannot open iCloud documents on my MAC I went to preferences etc and it did not give me access. My error says I need an updated version of numbers but I have the latest version

You cannot access iCloud on a Mac running Mac OSX 10.4.  Are you sure, the system version is correct?
If you are running iWork '09 (iWork 09 9.0.1) on your Mac with Numbers 2.3, you must at least have MacOS X 10.5.6 installed.
if you want iCloud support for iOS apps, you need the iWork 9.3 update, see:  About the iWork 9.3 Update
And this update requires OS X Lion v10.7.4
Is your iMac compatible with Lion or later?

  • Cannot open PDF attachments on my Mac; I have to copy PDF address an open it on Safari instead.

I cannot open PDF attachment on my Mac. One might think it is just slow, but the attachment never comes up. I have to copy the PDF address and paste it into Safari or Explorer, which have no trouble opening the very PDF that Firefox would not handle. I am guessing that I have some setting that is barring PDFs; other attachments open fine. My adobe is up to date, I think; if that was the problem Safari, too, would not be able to open the PDF.

There is a plugin that you can use, for details see https://support.mozilla.com/kb/Opening+PDF+files+within+Firefox

  • On my Mac, I cannot play Java based games on Firefox

I have both updated Firefox and the OS. When I try to play Java based browser games on Firefox, only a blank screen appears. These games do work in Safari and Chrome however.

    Hi,
thanks for trying. I have tried it in safemode but it still does not work. Also, I tried installing the beta version and it also did not work. However, in the beta version of firefox, the game I tried to play said that it did not appear that I had Java installed. I am sure I do because I have done the software update and the games work in other browsers.

  • Cannot reinstall 10.8 on new Mac mini

OK, so here's what I did so far:
Bought a new Mac mini (i7)
Moved apps and data from my old Mac mini using the migration assistant
All went smooth up to here. Now what I want to do is do a fresh installation of Mountain Lion
after all. And this is where the problems start.
I still have the downloaded Mountain Lion app on my external hard drive. When I
double click on it it tells me that my Mac is not compatible with Mountain Lion.
OK, may be it's outdated (the installer). So I went over to the App Store trying
to download the installer again. No such luck: The App Store also tells me
that I cannot download this software because my computer is not compatible
    with Mac OSX 10.8
Does anyone have an idea what might cause this sudden incompatibility?
    Thanks,
    Christian

The OS X 10.8.2 that shipped with the October 23 announcement hardware (including your new mini) is a special hardware build that does not exist in the App Store. Any prior Mountain Lion installer that you may have had laying about, will tell you it cannot install. OS X 10.8.3 when it arrives, should rectify this issue.
You will need to to do a clean install from Apple's Internet Recovery HD.
Make sure you have a wired Ethernet connection. Reboot holding command+option+R. This will fetch the special version of Mountain Lion from Apple specific to your mini as it was shipped.

  • I cannot open a PDF attachment in Mac Mail

I can see the attachment that arrived but I cannot open it on the Mac. I have no issues opening it in webmail under Windows.
As if this would not be enough I am running into something else hard to understand. On the Mac I could not post this question, it never allowed me to go beyond entering the title for the question. I am now submitting from Windows.... Obviously I was logged in on the Mac. This is like a bad joke, having to report a Mac issue by using Windows because the Mac doesn't even allow me to report the problem...
Any help for both issues would be appreciated.

I sent myself 4 attachments (PDFs). Two came across as Icons, two were embedded in the Email. I was able to open and print them all. So maybe there is something "strange" about the one I cannot see/open on the Mac, only on the PC....
Why is that some PDFs some PDFs come in as icons others are embedded?
    ================================
Going back to the other topic I had in this thread: I can go back to this thread on the Mac. I tried to post again a new question from the Mac and I CANNOT do it.  It doesn't do anything beyond allowing me to enter the subject.
I am wondering if there is an administrator for this form who can provide help in the is case. It is really not a good thing for Apple to require that I use a PC to get help for other problems for the Mac....  I do know that this is a user community but it does run under Apple's site, so I would assume that they moderators, administrators, etc like for other user communities who can help in a case like this one. Does anyone know how to access help for the forum? Thanks
I agree that the one is an anomaly. I have no idea why some are embedded and some are icons.
When you attempted to post and start a thread, did you go to "new?" That would bring up a template for starting a thread. IMHO, if you are able to post at all, there is no impediment to beginning a thread.

Did you try to install CS5 on a new computer by copying or using migration? That won't work with Adobe applications.
You'll probably have to start by cleaning off the Adobe Creative Suite with the Adobe Cleaner Tool here:
Use the CC Cleaner Tool to solve installation problems | CC, CS3-CS6
Then download a clean install copy of CS5 here (unless you have the original discs you used to install):

  • Cannot open Photo.library of other Mac User.

Running Yosemite, and Photos 1.0 (Dutch version). As advised elsewhere, in order to allow Photo library being used by 2 users of same MAC, I created a 3rd 'shared data' user, to put shared Photo data. So with 1 of the users on MAC, I imported (old) iPhoto library in Photos, went fine, and copied the Photo.library file on the 'shared data' folder under folder Pictures. I created proper authorizations for both users to access this library. Now from the user by which I created this net Photo.library, I can open this library OK, but from the other user (same authorizations) I cannot open the library, error is 'Photo cannot restore permission'. I run the checkdisk program, run the program to restore permissions, but did not help. When I try to open this library on the 'shared data' user's folder from Finder, error says it cannot import pictures from the library. Thanks for advice.

2 disks, and buy a software to backup one disk to the seagate raid 1 ... sounds complicated to me, TimeMachine can't backup network disks. Fact is though that I can access the foto library from 1 other user on the MAC, so it isn't so that accessing other user's  library doesn't work. But it only works for 1 user apparently. Clearly not very well thought through by Apple.

  • Ran disk utility repair permissions....now I can not open any applications on my Mac mini

my Mac mini (mid 2011. OS X 10.9.1). Was running very slow so I ran repair permissions...after re-booting my computer I can not open any apple applications.  I keep getting a pop up window that says " finder quit unexpectedly". When trying to open safari " safari quit unexpectedly".  I can open skype, google chrome.   The computer indicates that wifi is on and connected - however I can't seem to log into Skype or access any web pages.  What to do next?
One more thing, I keep getting pop up windows asking for passwords for different items if or keychain...I have tried to put in my password, but that doesn't work. Not sure what password it is looking for but the window won't go away even when I hit cancel

Boot into your recovery partition (restart, hold down ⌘R until you see the Apple logo), and use Disk Utility to repair your hard drive.  OS X: About OS X Recovery
Then see if you can restart normally.

  • Why won't my iTunes open after I updated my Mac Mini to iOS 8.1?

I updated my software to iOS 8.1 and today I opened up my Mac mini, and tried to open iTunes, but it just kept closing out as soon as I tried to open it and I can't open it up... What can I do to fix this?

Ok, your iOS update has no bearing on your iTunes crashing on your Mac Mini.
Have you tired opening iTunes in a different user?
Have you tried opening iTunes in safe mode?
This does not fix anything just gives us more to go on to solve your problem.

  • PLEASE ADVISE: I cannot open web based PDF

Further to my query 2 days ago, when I could not open pdf document on a web based course, now I cannot open any pdf on any web site!

    I started a web-based course, reputable site.
The web stated Safari is the best for the media used in the course.
First attempt: could not complete, needs Adobe flashplayer (though I set the Safari preference security to "allow all other plugins").
OK, I installed this, and hurray! excellent.
Then there are links of the "manual" to read through the course. Opens blank tab, with message states: needs Adobe Reader. I do not have this.
OK, go to main Adobe web site, download and install. This wants to be the "default" instead of Preview.
Nope, do not want the change of my default. But then, have to make the change.
Nope, Adobe Reader not opening the link.
Now, I un-installed (deleted) the Adobe Reader, kept the Adobe Flashplayer. Still can not read any material in the links (blank tab), normally or usually, any pdf will open when the security preference is to "allow all other plugins"!!
Yes, I can do the course, but I cannot read materials in any links, which are pdf. Probably will fail the test at the end. If so, who will compensate my course fee?
    Totally disappointing experience.
I looked to find where the Adobe Flashplayer is installed, but there is not any, though there is Adobe Flashplayer Uninstaller!!
    Any comments or advice?
In summary, now I cannot open any pdf web linked site.

  • Why can't I open folders (pictures) on my mac mini - it says I don't have access

I can't open the Pictures or Music or any other folders that I have in Users on my hard drive

    Hey BDAqua,
Thanks for that. Made me think. I used one of my other logins by accident. For some reason my Mac MIni will let me log in using one of two usernames. So that was an easy fix that I should have known. I appreiciate your suggestion.

  • Cannot open PDF in Firefox on MAC

I have looked at and tried almost every single solution provided in the community support but for some reason none of them seem to work! I cannot open a PDF in Firefox no matter what! I tried going to preferences and then application and then in action having it "preview in Firefox" - that did not work. I tried installing a plugin that was recommended - that didn't work. I tried everything and nothing is working!

Try to disable the Adobe® Acrobat® Plug-in for Web Browsers, Version 10.1.13 plugin ("Adobe Acrobat NPAPI") and check it again.
    thanks again
