Cannot open most recent email

For two days now I cannot open the first email in my inbox. I can solve this by sending an email to myself, and can then open the mesage(as it is now second on the list)

Exactly the same thing. Can't open e-mail or it is totally blank, but if I move it to a folder I can read it. If I return it to the Inbox I can read it. I'm blaming the migration to bt.com

Change your old Apple ID using this link:

Click the blue Manage your Apple ID button.
Its password is unrelated to the password you use for the email associated with it.
If you don't remember the Apple ID password, click the Reset your password link.
I already have a new apply id that is set on my phone and ipad. I just want to switch it to that one...
You cannot change your Apple ID to another one that is already in use - in this case, the one you created for your iPnone and iPad. Decide which Apple ID you want to keep. If you need to change it, change it - don't create a new one.

Try a Reset [Hold the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons down together for 10 seconds or so (until the Apple logo appears) and then release. The screen will go blank and then power ON again in the normal way.] It is app and data safe!

How do I set my preferences to open most recent catalog?

I'm running LR 4.1 with ACR 7.1 on a Windows 7 64 bit OS.
I set my preferences to open most recent catalog.
I then open another catalog and do some stuff in the catalog but when I start LR next time it keeps going back to a different catalog. How can I change the settings so it either opens the most recent catalog or I get prompted for which catalog I'd like to open (I've tried both settings) and LR still keeps opening the same catalog.

In the same dialog that your screenshot shows select as per this screen shot:
Your setting should open the catalog you most recently worked with. If you work on catalog A, then open catalog B, with your settings Lr will open with catalog B the next time.

I cannot open my recent numbers documents

I cannot open my recent numbers documents because I get the message saying I need to download the latest version from the App Store although the App Store says I have the latest version (09 v2.03 is installed) I cannot do anything. I have tried quitting everything & restarting. Just keep getting the same error message and it refuses to open

Unfortunately, the preference in Finder's Get Info doesn't work for setting a default since the file names are identical. Some users here have gone into the Applications folder and changed the filename of one of the apps to distinguish them.
A decent workaround is to make sure you have Quite both Numbers apps and look to see if either is on the Dock. If so, drag the icon off the dock. Then use Spotlight to search for Numbers. Two apps will be found:
Numbers - Applications and Numbers - iWork. Choose Numbers - Applications by clicking on it to launch the app. When the Numbers icon shows up in the Dock, Right-Click the icon and choose Options > Keep in Dock.
Henceforth launch from the Dock rather than from the document. To open documents, you can use the File menu in Numbers, or you can drag the file to the Numbers icon in the dock.
I've read that if only one version of Numbers is running, that's the one that will be used if you simply double-click a document name or icon. I haven't confirmed that.

LE8 not opening most recent project

I've encountered this problem in the past few weeks - possibly after I installed SL. When I close a project and quit LE, and then re-open it, LE shows me the "New..." screen. Also, the "Recent Projects" tab in the "File" menu is no longer there. Any ideas? (Yes, the Startup Action is set to "open most recent project." Thanks.

I would check you're preferences on the program to make sure nothing has changed. I's also check for updates to both Snow Leopard and Logic Express 9. Both programs have had revisions since they've been released to repair some unforseen issues.

Fellow user Grant Bennet-Alder offers this solution:
Some users have reported this problem if the Mail Application has been moved out of the top-level /Applications folder, or duplicated in another location.
When the Security Update is done, the old version of Mail is disabled.
The solution has been to:
1) make certain Mail is in the /Applications folder
2) There is no other copy anywhere else.
3) Once steps 1 and 2 have been done, Manually download and re-apply the Security Update (2012-004) by hand.

If the Mail.app has been LOST, it can be re-installed by applying the 10.6.8 version 1.1 combo update. But this update is quite large and it is usually not necessary:

    That is my understanding. Clicking "Delete Account" is similar to logging out of iCloud with that account.
   But your situation is different from mine, as I had been using my @me.com account for "Find My iPhone" only. I ended up using my @me.com account for iCloud and another account for my Apple iTunes Store purchases.
   That's correct--it will not delete your purchases. You can still back-up to your Mac with iTunes using the same account you used to purchase your Apple stuff. -Bob-

I just changed my mail over to IMAP. I deleted the POP account from my phone and created an IMAP account. For some reason its loading emails in 2006 & 2007 as my most recent messages. I tried deleting it and remaking it but its still loading those same emails. How can I get it to load my most recent messages?

I have over 10,000 old emails on my server, I cant load them all on my iPhone!
The first email it loaded was from 07/03/07, then it loaded sequentially backwards from that date. However it didnt load every email. I generally save around 5 emails per day, and 200 emails is covering the space of about a year from July 2007 to Sept 2006 (so its skipping alot of emails). If I load more emails it just keeps loading older emails at the bottom of the list. Its not adding new ones to the top.
I though it was supposed to load the most recent emails in my inbox.

I'm curious if there is a hot key bypass of Logics "open most recent song on startup" preference, similar to holding down shift on starting up the computer will not automatically log you into a user. Is there one?

I don't think so.
What I do is have Logic set that if I run it, by default it opens the most recent song. I then have some alises set up that load Logic with a few predefined autoloads - so in Launchbar (I run everything from launchbar), I type "lp" to run Logic loading the most recent song, "lpa" to load Logic with my autoload, and I can set up whatever else I need.
At least it lets me choose what to start Logic with...

On a IPad is there a restriction to the number of emails it access? Say there's 100 messages in my inbox but when I look at my inbox on my Ipad it will only show 50 of the most recent emails. Is there a way to see all 100?

Not sure whether you are saying that you have more than 200 emails in your Inbox, or that 200 are in the Inbox and the others are in other folders. If the first then (I don't have more than 200 emails in my Inbox) but if you do and want to load more then do you not get a Load More Messages option if you scroll down to the bottom of your Inbox ?
If you want to be able to search multiple email folders then I don't think that you can do it within the Mail app itself, but the spotlight search screen (swipe your first homescreen to the right) can - you can control what is searched by spotlight via Settings > General > Spotlight Search

New Computer Cannot Open Old Encrypted Emails

I have a user that has recently been set up on a new computer copying their .pst from an older system.
The previous computer was running Windows 7 32bit w/ Office 10 and the new one is running Windows 7 64 bit w/ Windows 10.
The user can open recently received encrypted emails but cannot open emails prior to the date they were moved to the new system. I have removed and reinstalled their credentials and exported them as well but to no avail.
Any suggestions on recovering access to encrypted emails prior the creation date of their new profile on the new computer?

Was the "old" Digital-ID installed/ imported into Outlook after setting up the new workstation?
Mostly the reason for such behaviour would be missing private key matching the public key the messages were encrypted with. You won't be able to decrypt the mails without it.

Cannot see most recent files when attaching

I've had this problem for a while. Currently using OS X Mavericks, 10.9.4 (latest version) and Mail 7.3 (also latest build). Saved a file to Documents, then opened Mail and attempted to attach it. Finder window opens, but my most recent files viewed are "last 7 days," with "today" being completely missing. I can open the Finder independently, the files show, I can open the files, send the file as an attachment from the Finder itself. But for quite some time, I don't see my most recent files (like today's files) in Finder when first opening Mail and attempting to attach something from a new message or message reply. Very frustrating.
Anyone know what's going on here? I've experienced this before, but this is the first I realized that it seems as if it only happens when I am searching for a file to attach, and not when I open the Finder directly. I know there are workarounds, but I would just like to be able to do this simple thing, and for the life of me, I cannot do it. Not sure how long this has been going on, but I think it was happening in Mavericks all along, I just didn't connect the dots.

I can't duplicate the issue. What type of file is it? Is it saved locally, in the cloud, external drive?
