Cannot open my email account

I installed foxfire 4.0 now I cannot open my email homepage (www.excite.com) I was able to do it before. I disabled my firewalls and still was unable to open the page. I've tried all the suggestions offered in the help page I still cannot open this website. It is the only one affected so far,

What are you using to attempt to open it? Are Using a browser? an App?
What happens when you try?
Have you set it up in the Mail App or are you using a different App?
Unless you give us some details you are basically asking us to guess at what may be happening.

In earlier versions of firefox, I used the google toolbar, which is now banned. No subsitute tabs or icons for frequently visited sites is offered by Firefox 6. I go to talktalk.co.uk to access my email (a lineone.net account) and it come up "a number of undisclosed emails" and will not let me open the account. If I use safari on my ipad it is fine. It was okay before I upgraded to firefox 5. I am running XP pro

I cannot open my emails in google mail from my laptop, yet I can open them on my desktop without issue. whats changed?

Until yesterday I have not any issue with opening my email in google mail. I am a student at Miami of Ohio and access the email thru their site. The system functions fine other wise. I can open the email account and when I try to open the email it highlights the email, but will not open it. I tried to access it thru IE and it works fine. I also use Firefox on my desktop and as I previously mentioned it performs flawlessly. What could be preventing this from working? Once I try to open and email I cannot look at draft or sent emails down the list on the left side they are blank, yet on the desktop they are all present.

I cannot open individual email entries in my webmail

When I open my email account I cannot open any individual emails. If I use a Chrome browser, I am able to open my emails.
There is a preview option in the account and I can see my emails in that preview window.

I get plans and specification sent as attachments and they are pdf files. When I go to open the attachment three options come up 1 Open with protected mode disabled
2 Always open with protected mode disaled
3 Do not opern with protected mode disabled.
My only option is to open with protected mode disabled.
But when I go online, I do not get that option - It just says problems with adobe and connot download.

Assuming that you mean that the Mail app isn't working properly as opposed to it not being able to download your emails due to account/password problems, then try closing the Mail app completely and see if it works properly when you re-open the app : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
If that doesn't work also do a reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

Welcome to the discussions, rubobs.
If the list of messages is taking the full depth of the mail window, look for a little dot in the centre of the bottom bar of the window and drag it upwards to reveal the "Preview" pane.

You said you tried the recommended solution, but didn't mention what that solution was. Try, from the Firefox menu bar:
 
Tools -> Options -> Content
where you will find an option to block pop-up windows. If that box is checked but there are sites from which you would like to allow pop-up, click the button "Exceptions..." to add sites to your exception list.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

I cannot open all email attachment files(pdf, doc, etc) in Mail on my New IPad. I installed all viewer apps but I am not able to click and hold to select the option of viewer apps to open the files. I dont get the "open with" option when I click on the arrow in the menu bar. I can open attachment files on G-mail website from Safari though. It is really ridiculous that I cannot open the files from Apple Mail app! What's wrong with it!!

We cannot possible know what's wrong with it. But we can offer suggestions that might help.
Try resetting the iPad - its like rebooting a computer.

You can try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your app preferences and device settings again
