Cannot open my G11 raw files in Bridge CS3.

I just downloaded my G11 raw files onto my computer. Usually, I do a quick glance in Bridge CS3 but they do not open. I do have Photoshop CS4, but that doesn't help me, right? What do I need to do to open these?  I've already updated my Bridge CS3 to 2.1.1.9.
I am using Mac G5, OS 10.5.x.

But be aware that CS4 comes with ACR 5.0
You will need to update it to version 5.6 for the G11.
It's on this page:  http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • I have re-installed PS CS4 and Bridge onto my new Macbook Pro, but I cannot open or edit RAW files?

I just bought a new Macbook, and I tried transferring my Photoshop CS4 and Bridge to my new one via my external Hard Drive. It's worked in the past (I did it when transferring my desktop to my laptop), but this time, I am unable to open or edit RAW files. Bridge won't even allow me the option of "Camera Raw Settings" when going under "File".
I've tried searching for answers to my questions through these forums, and the closest I have gotten is that I need to download the updated Camera Raw plug-in, and I can't find it. Also, I need to download the update to the DNG or something like that, which I did, and that still doesn't work. I've extracted and refiled my RAWs to DNG's, and they will still not open in either Bridge, nor Photoshop. So, now I'm feeling helpless and I'm getting very frustrated at this point.
I shoot with a Canon 7d in RAW format. I've done this for years, and my computers have opened them with CS4 since I've had it.
I appreciate any and all help, thank you!

"Moving", copying, transferring or migrating Adobe applications is to be avoided at all costs.
Always install from the original media, from scratch, then apply all updates available all over again.  The Camera Raw plug-in, for example, is buried deep inside your root level Library.
Your best course of action is to uninstall CS4, download and run the Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and re-install CS4 as per the previous paragraph.

  • Opening RAW files with Bridge CS3

When I try to open a RAW file from Bridge CS3 it defaults to Mac Preview and does not open Photoshop Elements 6 RAW converter.  If I open a RAW file outside of Bridge it work fine.  What did I do wrong??   Using a iBook G4 with OS 10.5.8 and Photoshop Elements 6 and new Camera RAW plugin for my Panasonic LX3 camera.  hjz62

Bridge requires the latest version of Adobe Camera Raw to be installed.  http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/detail.jsp?ftpID=4581 Adobe states that this is the latest version of camera raw compatible with PSE-6 Mac. Others may have additional information.
As to the issue of defaulting to Apple software, this issue is usually a configuration problem wherein certain file extensions are granted permissin to be summarily opened by a given program. ((Right clicking any given file, then choosing "open with", and selecting a given program  is a work around, but to avoid this step, you need to reconfigure your program settings.)) This is the Windows file path/solution, I am not familiar with Mac. I am confident that the issus is the same

  • Mac OS 10.9.4 cannot open the NEF/RAW files from the new Nikon D810 Camera

I have a new Nikon D810 camera. My new iMac cannot open the NEF/RAW files from it...Anyone have any knowledge of this?

If you will take the time to send Apple feedback, they will add RAW support - when I got my Canon, it wasn't supported either. I filed feedback and, two months, later, there was an update which included my camera model.

  • Cannot open Nikon 1V2 Raw files in CS5

    Hello!
I cannot open Nikon 1V2 Raw files in CS5
Camera Raw Version is 5.0.0.178, PS CS5 Version 11.0.2
Anyone have a suggestion that does not involve upgrading to a newer version of Photoshop?
    Thanks!
    Kelly

Does this mean that I can't get Camera Raw 7.3 with Photoshop CS5?
    Naturally.
Photoshop CS5 does not use ACR 7.
I did read about using the free DNG Converter but that seems like an extra step I would prefer to avoid if possible.
Either upgrade Photoshop or use another means to process the RAW files, and cost-wise DNG Converter can hardly be beat.

  • Cannot open illustartor cc 2014 files from bridge

cannot open illustartor cc 2014 files from bridge... after I installed Illustrator CC 2014 and updated Bridge CC I cannot open the Illustrator files from Bridge as it seems the path for opening such files still points to the old Illustrator CC folder which I have uninstalled from my computer

still points to the old Illustrator CC folder which I have uninstalled from my computer
Probably meaning you did not use the correct procedure for uninstall or have some remnants left of a trial. In Bridge Preferences File Type Associations you can change your default application for opening files of the wanted file types.

  • Cant open my CR2 raw files in Bridges camera raw

Please help, I cannot open my raw files from my new 5d mark 3, in cs6 bridge or Ps for that matter, yes I know do an update from help-update and yes ive done this several times telling me im up to date. the downloader reads them and generates a jpeg thumb but when in bridge they will not render as a jpeg thumb and I cannot open in camera raw, just says do an update well ive done that and i cant get them to open.

Ask in the PS and ACR forums and provide proper technical info. We don't even know what system you are on so this is pointless.

  • Couldn't open RAW files in Bridge Cs3

    Hi,
the RAW files (CR2) cannot be opened/developed with using Bridge CS3. When I double click the file (CR2) in Bridge, it just gave this prompt in Photoshop, "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file."
I used to be able to open Raw files in my friend's G5 using Bridge. When I double click the file, it will automatically open the Canon Camera Raw with settings for me to adjust before I develop the picture. However when I tried on my own computer, it came out the prompt I mentioned above.
Please advise what is the problem with my Bridge. Do I need to reintall the whole of Adobe suite?
    Thank you so much.

    Brian
first check again the right location of (only one!) ACR plug in (see post 3 of this thread for details)
Then quit Bridge, in user library go to preferences and manual trash the plist file for Bridge (com.adobe.bridge2.plist), restart again with option key and again reset prefs.
If this is still not working create a new user account and check if Bridge is working correctly in this new user, if so your user account is corrupt and you should do maintenance for the OS (Archive and install).
If still no luck go again to the user library/cache/Adobe/BridgeCS3/cache. This cache file can grow to the enormous portions, check the size and if you wish make a copy for back up. Then delete this whole cache file by dragging it to the trash. Again delete plist file and again restart option to refresh prefs. By deleting the cache file you will need to recache all your folders so it is a very hard way but it worked for me several times.

  • Photoshop cannot open EM5 II RAW files even with 8.8 ACR?!

I have an active Adobe CC subscription so my Photoshop is already the latest version, but when I try to open EM5 II .ORF files, I get message "Photoshop cannot open this file." (see attached screenshot)
EM5 II is already officially supported according to Camera Raw 8.8 announcement page so why can't Photoshop open it? I thought there's something wrong with my setup so I downloaded and installed Camera Raw plug-in installer manually but the result is still the same.
I even uninstalled my Photoshop CC 2014 using Creative Cloud and reinstalled it, I just keep getting the same message.
Any other things I can try?

You are right, when I go to Help > Camera Raw, I see plugin version is only 8.7
But I've run the Camera RAW plugin installer specified in my post above, and DNG Converter is already at the proper 8.8
Why is Camera RAW not updating to 8.8 via Creative Cloud or the manual install? Inside Photoshop, I also went to Help > Updates but it's telling I already have the latest update.
    Help!!!

  • Open event for RAW files from Bridge

I installed the “Open As Layer.jsx” to promote the background into a layer and rename that layer to the file name. This is working perfect when I open the file via file menu from PS.
If I use a double-click from the Bridge it works only for JPEG’s and other files but not for RAW-files. As soon as ACR is involved, no open event is fired in Photoshop.
Is there a way to catch another event after the file is placed in PS? I tried to find some with the ScriptListener.8li but I don’t get a log entry.
    Thanks for help.

    Edit:
Glad to hear you got it working.
I'll just leave what i had put here anyway.
    You want Program Files (x86)
That's where the 32 bit programs such as photoshop cs3 are on a windows 7 64 bit system.
Also, in bridge cs3 under Edit>Preferences>Thumbnails ensure Prefer Adobe Camera Raw for Jpeg and Tiff files is checked.
    (then restart bridge cs3)

Before going through the document it would be helpful to select the Help > Look for updates option. Some users reported it fixed the Camera Raw 6.6 problem automatically.
If you are facing trouble opening your clicked images in Elements, there is an elaborate document which covers a number of errors, problems, and lists solutions for the same. The document can be found at: http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/multi/troubleshoot-camera-raw-photoshop-photoshop.html

  • Can't access Raw files in Bridge CS3

I have recently had to purchase a new computer (Acer) and have re installed CS3.  When I open Bridge none of RAW files are showing and bridge doesn't say I can open any images in RAW.  I use windows XP
I have dowloaded the ACR4.6 from the Adobe and believe I have installed it correctly.
The Acer machine is a Veriton M670 and has a Intel Core 2 processor.
I hope someone can help me.

I assume you mean folder (directory), not "file".
Make sure that folder is completely out of the way of the path to Photoshop, nowhere near your application directory.  Either put it in your Documents folder or delete it.
