hello i have nvidia optimus 630gt.i cannot open the nvidia-settings either in terminal or gui .

Cannot open Bluetooth Settings HP DV8T-1000

I am running Windows 7 64-bit.
I have the HP DV8T-1000 with built in bluetooth.
The software for the bluetooth in installed (in fact I uninstalled and reinstalled it). Everything says "the device is working properly" however if I right click the bluetooth icon, then click "open bluetooth settings" nothing happens.
When I click on show bluetooth devices it just searches forever and finds nothing.
When I click on add a device it never finds my discoverable Motorola S305 headset.
I have checked on the HP website and I have the latest drivers installed.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I think if I could get into the bluetooth settings perhaps I could solve the problem. Who knows.

When I ran services.msc I saw 2 items for Bluetooth:
Bluetooth Service - Handles installation and removal of bluetooth devices - Started - Automatic
Bluetooth Support Service - The bluetooth service supports discovery and association of remote bluetooth devices. stopping or disabling this service may cause already installed bluetooth devices to fail to operate properly and prevent new devices from being discovered or associated. - Disabled
Took some effort to get "bluetooth support service" started but once I did I could then open bluetooth options.
I still could not sync my device though. Next I checked to see if it would now show up as already installed and it did. I clicked the connect button but got an error.
Next I deleted the device and re-discovered it. Now it all works great!

Cannot open Language settings from Tile view, and unable to install Language packs from WSUS.

Hi all,
I have a bunch of Windows 2012 R2 servers that have been deployed from a syspreped image where the language has been defaulted to "en-GB", rather than the default "en-US".
I also have a WSUS 3 server running on a Windows 2008r2 machine. This tells me that a number of language packs are required by these 2102r2 machine, namely:
KB2839636 - English (United Kingdom) Language Pack
KB2839636 - English (United States) Language Pack
KB3012997 - English (United Kingdom) Language Pack
KB3012997 - English (United States) Language Pack
These have been approved to be installed on the 2012r2 machine, however, running Window Update on the machines shows nothing. Opening the Control panel, then navigating to "Add Language", then "options", shows no additional updates.
The I tried to search and run the languages control panel directly from the Windows Tile view by simply typing "language" and clicking the 'Language' option in the search results, but then get the following error dialogue box:

The issue I have here is that I am logged on with the Domain Admin profile, but the path above refers to the local admin profile - however the file listed has full permissions for all 'Administrators'.
So I have two questions:
How should the Language pack updates get installed from WSUS?
How do I fix the problem with trying to open the Language option direct from the tile search view?

I'm not receiving any mail anymore from one of the two email addresses I have on my Blackberry Torch. I recently changed the password online for that email, but not on the blackberry website yet because I fail to log in. when I enter my username, or PIn, it says it will send the info to my device, but that obviously doesn't work.. Please try this FIRST, using your BlackBerry browser...
1)
• Go to mobile.blackberry.com
• Scroll down to Communication and then to Email.
• Choose the appropriate email set up options.
If that works and completes your email setup/editing, good.
If not, follow these additional instructions:
2) Register HRT: (OS5) Home Screen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > Scroll to any line entry and > press the Menu key > and then click Register Now. If you have an OS 6 or OS 7 device, Look at Options > Device > Advanced > Host Routing Table, etc.
3) Resend Service Books: Article ID: KB02830 How to send the service books for a BlackBerry Internet Service account. http://www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB02830
4) Then, with the BlackBerry device POWERED ON, remove the battery for a minute, and then reinsert the battery to reboot. A reboot in this manner is prescribed for most glitches and operating system errors, and you will lose no data on the device doing this.
5) Now, return to the 1) mobile.blackberry.com email setup as mentioned above and follow that.

For Safari to work, you need either Wi-Fi or cellular data.
Are you connected to a Wi-Fi hotspot?

the settings are gone, i guess. But even worse, I cannot get the iPad2 to play Full HD thru the Apple digital AV adaptor using apps that support (and advertise this), like AVPlayer HD. This definiteley used to work before one of the last iOS upgrades. (I am now at 5.1.1).

Hi I hope you can help because I am getting desparate.
I installed Logic Studio V.8.1 on my Imac (lots of ram, 1 year operating with no problems). I have had no trouble until the other day when I started to get the message "cannot open dialog window/preferences" or "song settings" and whenever I try to adjust any or most menu items with "....." after them. The bounce adjustments do not open either, and the core audio does not kick in on startup, the audio coming through the computer speakers. I eliminated and reinstalled Studio and it worked okay for awhile and then went haywire again. By the way I eliminated Logic 7.
Are you aware of what could be the problem? I don´t see anything in the forums. Should I eliminate everything and reinstall 7 and 8 with the Key?

I had a PDF on my Desktop which somehow caused the problem. Preview could not open it either. Removing the PDF from the Desktop solved the problem...

Long story short: Simply get CC for teams. At 500 bucks a year it's a steal and those 5 licenses in the base package (or was it 10 even?) cover all your computers, at least the 3 ones you mentioned. For system requirements refer to the individual product pages.

Genius bar told me to erase the harddisk and install OSX Maverick again. This has not changed the problems with the system settings

You need to Repartition the drive as One partition which will erase all data from it and then reinstall OS X. then with the initial setup system you chose the language on the first screen that comes up. That sets the language for the whole system.
There is no other way of completely removing certain information created by a previous owner. this hold strue whether you are selling or give a Mac to someone.
To do the repartitioning you need to use the Online Internet Recovery system, if the Mac came with Lion 10.7 or above, or from the original system reinstall discs that came with it when it was new.

You would need to make a change to your registry; see http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AppSec/attachments.html
Basically you would need to add the .pdf with the permission 2.
Let us know if you need help with that. Either way, make sure to create a System Restore Point before editing the registry.

KDE, HAL, cannot open the non-latin mount point

I just installed ArchLinux for a few days and there is a problem here: I use KDE and hal, USB disk and CDROM can be auto-mounted. But if the USB Disk lable or CDROM label is non-latin characters, KDE, actually, Konqueror cannot open that mount point.
I think my charset is correct because in konqueror, the directory name of the mount point is correct. When I try to open this directory, konqueror complained that she cannot open that directory and the directory name which the error message dialog shows is wrong.
Any ideas? Thanks a lot.

"Cannot open default user face" - KDE 4

After the upgrade to KDE 4, I notice this msg in errors.log and other logs:
"kdm_greet[3456]: Cannot open default user face".
Has anyone else seen this and know what may cause it? A search on the net shows that this error is supposed to be fixed in KDE 4.<something>, yet it appears here.
I also see this in kdm.log:
"kdmgreet(3455) KLocalePrivate::initEncoding: Cannot resolve system encoding, defaulting to ISO 8859-1.
The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:

Don't worry about 'default user face', it's nothing... you can set it in:
SystemSettings -> Advanced -> Login Manager -> Users
under 'User Images' [ bottom-right ].
I expect when installing you elected to install dhcp [ Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol ] when configuring the network ?
Dhcpcd is its' daemon. You could uninstall dhcp... pacman -R dhcp
I presume you have onboard ethernet and a pci network card ?
Could you disable your onboard ethernet in the systems BIOS ? Then you can concentrate on configuring your card. I've
never used 'wicd' so I can't help you there.

I am so sorry to hear that you cannot open some web pages by typing a URL.
Please supply some specific examples, so other Readers can try them to see what the problem might be. Trial and error is impossible.

From the Safari menu bar, select
Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Extensions
Turn all extensions OFF and test. If the problem is resolved, turn extensions back ON and then disable them one or a few at a time until you find the culprit.
