Cannot open or compose new sms in OS 5.0 Storm 9500
Hello,
I was wondering if somebody can help with a definitive solution for the problem of composing or reading sms in the OS 5.0 for Storm 9500. I have update to this new OS few days ago and since then I have this constant problem, cannot read the new sms, or compose new sms since everything gets back in the last thread. I have to delete each time the sms in order to read or sent new ones. I have wiped and reload the OS several time but the problem persists..

This may be an issue with your SMS Database, please try clearing the SMS the database and then test, please have a look at the following article:

Hi, I've been asked to join this discussion. CCleaner is a nice tool, but if you used the Registry Cleaner that came with it, it might have done something to Photoshop's registry entries. There is that danger in using them.
One thing CCleaner does is leave a backup of the registry, or you can use Windows System Restore to go to that point before you ran the Cleaner. Let's go with System Restore. Review the instructions.

They have the tools, you run them, and copy and paste the logs that are generated. They are very good at this, but it is super important you follow directions and don't leave until the process is completed.

Cannot Open Links from Mail / SMS
I upgraded my C7 to Belle now. Bad news: When I receive a mail or SMS that contains a link to a web page, I cannot open it. What happens is:
I first get a notification sying 'Loading'. Then, one or two seconds later, it says 'Loading failed. Please try again later'
I am not 100% sure if this started with Belle. I installed quite a few application after I upgraded to Belle, so maybe it's one of those that causes the problem.
What I did, of course, was to check
Application Settings > Default Applications > Browsing internet
That's set to 'Internet', which I believe is what it should be. (I also tried to reset everything there, still nothing.)
I really, really, really wouldn't want to wipe the whole phone, re-install belle, re-install all of the applications...
Is there a way to check what really gows wrong and fix it?Can you connect to internet from native browser or other 3rd party browsers like opera?

Entourage default opening at compose new message
It seems since upgrading to Mavericks that when I open the Entourage mail application, the program seems to always default to Compose a new message window. This is not how it used to be. I could simply open Entourage and view my folders and main window panel. If I selected new mesage, only then would the compose email panel appear.
I have looked through the entourage preferences and cannot identify which option is causing this occur and then how I can turn it off.
I am using Entourage for Mac 2008.
Any ideas?I recently upgraded to Mavericks and I am using Entourage for Mac 2008 as well. The exact same thing is happening to me. Extremely annoying. Upon opening Entourage it goes straight to opening compose new mail message window. Searched through preferences for an option to turn this off and there is nothing referring to this.
What to do. Hopefully microsoft will identify this glitch and send out an update to fix.
In the mean time it looks like we will just have to close this annoying window each time you want to simply read your emails......... -
Cannot open folders in NEW WINDOW
Is anyone else having trouble with the Finder not opening folders in a new window? I have gone to Finder preferences, and unchecked the box for "Open Folders in a new tab..." But I still cannot open my folders in a new window. I have thousands of folders, and some are set to open in icon view, some in list view, etc. depending on the contents. But now all that has disappeared. Any suggestions???
As others have said.....first, go to Finder > Preferences and make sure the checkbox is deselected for "open folders in tabs instead of new windows".
Any folder can be opened in a new window by holding down the Command Key while double-clicking the folder. But sooner or later you will forget to hold down that key, and then a folder will open in a tab (which will probably resize the window and cause much aggravation and cursing).
If you're like me and don't like tabs very much, there is a way to make folders always open in windows with a simple double-click. (I'm using Mavericks 10.9.5). Go to any folder on the Desktop, open it, and select View > Hide Toolbar. After that, all folders within that folder will open in a new window. I tried this with the Macintosh HD Folder (which I put on my Desktop) and all folders within it open in new windows with only a double-click.
Of course, you will lose the sidebar and the toolbar, so it's not a perfect solution, but at least you'll be done with tabs. -
Cannot open documents in new pages for iPad

Currently I'm quite disappointed about the update of Pages. I have realised that it happens after I've edited a Pages Document in iCloud and safed the new version, then I'm not able to edit the document on my iPad anymore. I don't even have to change anything in the document. It's just enough to open the document in iCloud then close it again and "ups", it's not possible to open anymore on the iPad. After that my document doesn't show the impression of the document anymore. The document has only the inkpot as symbol for it.
Where is the benfit of the cloud, when I can't use my documents after editing in the iCloud on my iPad anymore?
Even the suggested update (information of the message) doesn't bring a success. After starting the update nothing else happens.

It opens to my home page but I cannot open another tab. If I change the address in the address bar, it will not go to the new address. I have to go to explorer to get these features now but I really liked my old firefox.

Cannot open links in new tab without holding Ctrl
There is only one option i see in preferences for opening sites in new tabs. and it is called "Open links from applications..."
Even with this checked, by default all links open in a new window, unless I hold down Ctrl while clicking the link.
There MUST be a way to set ALL links to open in a new tab like every other browser I've used. No??Every single time this topic is raised, someone tries to claim there is a work-around, while seemingly forgetting that this is the Safari for Windows forum, and not the Safari for Mac forum.
This is the single biggest glaring omission from Safari for Windows. It completely defeats the purpose of even having tabs, which makes me wonder what in the world were the developers thinking.
Safari is a very pretty and fast browser, but I don't know many people who actually use it on a Windows machine due to the inability to simply open links in a new tab without right clicking or holding some extra button down. It's also the only mainstream browser for Windows that isn't capable of this simple task.
Having watched this issue since Safari 3, without ever seeing any response other then "oh, but just do this work-around" (that only works for Macs), my guess is we'll never see it happen. The funny thing is that when you look at the ini files that can be changed on the Mac version, they are pretty much identical to the Windows version. So, the "fix" not working simply means that whoever was in charge of the part of code related to tabs when porting to Windows must have consciously decided there was no need for the ability to open links in new tabs.
Proving once again that software engineers can be utterly clueless about the usability of their software. -
Suddenly today I cannot open message in new window, tabs ONLY
I normally open email in separate window with double click. Today it will not open. Context menu item "Open message in New Window" also does nothing. Only way I can get message open is Context menu item "Open message in New Tab." Version 24.6.0 Windows 7(64 bit).
set Thunderbird to use tabs,,,, then change it back to a windows. I have seen occasions when the setting to user interface shows does not reflect the true state of affairs. Like it need to be reset to get the message.
Your could try restarting from the help menu with addons disabled. See if it is one of them causing issues. (quite possible) -
Photoshop CS6 cannot open or create new canvases?
My photoshop cs6 loads fine. However, when I try to open a file or create a new one, nothing happens. It doesn't even indicate that anything might be loading. I have tried to open several files and nothing works.
Problem came back unfortunately, so that was NOT the final answer. Nothing will open.

we exhaustively tested every single potential solution in the thread. The only solution that finally worked was to create a new user within Windows7 to switch over too. Once the new user was created, they were able to open photoshop and normal functionality resumed. I'm not sure why photoshop would function for a little while and then suddenly stop in one user profile, but then another user profile would be able to continue to work.
The entire situation clears up upon reboot. There were NO error files logged. -

Can current PAGES be used to open documents created in PAGES2009?
Yes with some caveats, but probably your documents are actually Pages '08 format which Pages 5.2 can not open.
You need to open them in Pages '09 or export them from Pages '08 to Word .doc/docx.
If you had iWork '09 before are you sure you don't still have it in your Applications/iWork folder?
You are aware that Pages 5.2 is a lobotomised version, missing over 110 features?

Hello people, am new to this forum, I own a storm 9500 phone. It works fine on os v4.7 but after upgrading to version 5.0 I find I am unable to open my SMS messages, I receive them, but I cat open them to view. Also if I try to compose SMS, after entering the number or contact, once I click OK , everything goes off, I don't get to the SMS editing screen. Help please, cos downgrading back to v4.7 sucks... From what you are describing regarding your SIM card and SMS , this would be service related, and you would need to contact your service provider.
Also if you do not have the option for personal email this would be a service related issue as well with your BlackBerry services on your account and you would need to contact your service provider to verify the correct BlackBerry services are enabled.

When navigating the internet, if I come across a web page that has a link to open a picture or program in a new window, if I click on it, it does not open. Firefox immediately looses functionality in that I cannot open a new tab with the mouse wheel, right click to open a new tab, or use my bookmarks in either the drop down or toolbar to navigate away. I can usually still navigate the page that I am on, for example, (https://loanconsolidation.ed.gov/AppEntry/apply-online/appindex.jsp), when it freezes I cannot click on any of the content at the center of the page but I can still use the links from the list on the far left. For an example of the pictures, (http://www.insect-sale.com/), if you click on "New Arrivals" at the top of the page it takes you to a list of products that can only be viewed by clicking on them. Usually a picture of the item would open in a small window but it does not and Firefox freezes. This has also happen when I try a view a degree audit on a school's website where a program would usually open in a new window. The only thing I have been able to find that still functions properly when this happens is the home page button. I can click on it or use the wheel to open it in a tab just fine, but if I try and go anywhere else I cannot. The only way I can get Firefox back to normal is to use the Task Manager and end the process. Another thing I have noticed, that may or may not be related; is that my Norton Internet Security toolbar, that should show up below the bookmarks toolbar and above the tabs, only shows up about 1 out of every 10 times I open Firefox. Some days it doesn't show up at all. If it does show up and I log into Identity Safe, the autofill for the programed website works, even if the toolbar doesn't show up the next time I open Firefox.

Here you should see two columns: Content Type on the left, Actions on the right.
Find and select excel spreadsheet or any other content type in the left column. There should be a corresponding action in the right column. What is it? You can use the drop-down list to select the option you want:
Always Ask - Firefox will ask each time: What do you want to do with this file?
Save file - Firefox will save this file to your computer
Use - Firefox will give this file to the program to open it
In case of saving, Firefox will either prompt you every time where you want the file to be saved, or save it to the default location. It depends on the preference in
