Cannot open p;rofile folder
Following FF instructions, I cannot open the profile folder.
The Firefox Profile Folder is on Windows XP in
* C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\<profile>\
The Application Data folder is the hidden folder in that path and do not see that folder in Windows Explorer unless you allow to see such hidden folders.

Encore CS3 cannot open CS2 project: folder cannot be found
I created a project in Encore CS2 under Win XP, and when I try to open it in CS3 under Vista, I get an error of
Cannot open project; The folder for this project cannot be found.
Disregarding the fact that I haven't changed, moved or deleted any subfolders or files and the drive has the same letter and label as before, why the heck doesn't Encore at least give me the opportunity to direct it to the correct folder? I can do this easily in almost all other applications, like InDesign or Dreamweaver. Shouldn't this error have come up in the first few days of beta testing? (Uh, it
was beta tested.....right?)
I tried looking in the ProjectPrefs and ProjectWorkspace xml files, but they don't have any folder info. Searches in the knowledge base, forums and newsgroups have turned up nothing. It seems my only choice here is to recreate the fracking project from scratch!>(Uh, it was beta tested.....right?)
No. It wasn't. The Encore team is so good at coding and spell-checking that the Product Manager and the Director of the Production Studio project both felt that beta testing was not necessary this time around.
It's really pretty impressive that so few bugs have turned up in real-world use considering that both internal and external beta testing was shelved for this release. The additional resources that would have been used to test the app were sent to the Photoshop team to ensure that the CS3 release of PS was flawless. -
Cannot open project: the folder for this project cannot be found cs4
I am using Encore CS4 and I get the error "cannot open project: the folder for this project cannot be found"
Having searched the forums I can not find a solution for when the project folder has been deleted.
Can someone tell me the solution to this issue. If you deleted the Encore directory, you cannot fix this. You'll have to start over.
Encore creates this folder structure:
Root or some other Folder
MyProject.ncor (the Encore project FILE)
MyProject (the Encore project directory)
Other Folders for the Encore project (e.g. Cache, Sources)
You can get the "the folder for this project cannot be found" in various ways.
There have been two recent threads in which the user, by accident or on purpose, changed the folder location or name. You can fix this by renaming the folder correctly or moving it back (or moving the Encore project file to the correct relative position).
Folder was renamed. If you name the folder "MyProjectX" Instead of "MyProject," the project file "MyProject.ncor" can't find it.
Encore project file was moved - or Encore directories were moved. If you move "MyProject.ncor" to some other directory or drive (including inside the folder "MyProject"), it can't find the directory - it is looking one directory level below where the project file is located.
If you delete the Encore project directories, the stuff that Encore uses that projects menus, motion, etc, are gone. While many of its instructions are inside the project file itself, many are not. Some of the deleted material might be recreated (e.g. trying to fake Encore into accepting a copy of a menu), but most cannot. -
I cannot open my movies folder after enabling sharing
Hello,
I recently purchased the mac mini server with osx 10.8.4. I changed some folder settings on this computer to include file sharing (guests with read only access etc.) - some through finder and some through the server app. This includes the main "Movies" folder which is on a partition called "Server HD".
My first clue that something has screwed up is when the file sharing pane within the server application went all grey, and it added another folder with the name "Movies-1" (with the exact same icon that you would normally see in your library - the one with the reel on it).
My second clue was when my guest computer (also mac mini - older, which could read all my other shares including iphoto and other folders) would say "cannot find the original folder" each time i clicke on the Movies folder.
Now I'm stuck - I can't change the settings on the main mac, it says "you have unknown permissions".
An ls -el or ls -l both deny me any access to who owns this folder / group etc. Results pasted below:
bpmac:~ bpingali$ ls -l
ls: Movies: Permission denied

I tried removing DS_store to no avail
bpmac:~ bpingali$ rm ~/Movies/.DS_Store
I just get a dialog saying "you do not have permission to access its contents" when i double click.
Please help! This is a super new computer with lots of content in that folder which I would love to be sharing on my home network over this weekend!
Thanks in advance.
\m/Back up all data.
If you have more than one user account, you must be logged in as an administrator to carry out these instructions.
Triple-click anywhere in the line below to select it:
sudo chmod -R -N Movies
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C).
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). You'll be prompted for your login password. Nothing will be displayed when you type it. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. You may get a one-time warning not to screw up. Confirm. You don't need to post the warning.
If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator. Ask for instructions.
The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear. Test. -
PROBLEM SUMMARY:
I observe a very strange Finder bug (already in 10.5, and still now in 10.6), which only occurs within one specific folder with certain Finder view modes (list, coverflow).
ATTEMPTED SOLUTIONS & SPECULATION:
I already tried everything to fix it, both by GUI and CLI means, such as recursively setting file/folder permissions to default values, erasing .DS_Store and Icon files, etc, but nothing helped so far. The troubling folder and its contents (files and subfolders) is quite old, created still while OS Classic days, maybe it contains some "bad legacy / leftovers", like deprecated filesystem flags or resource forks, which cause the trouble.
PROBLEM DETAILS:
This is the directory structure:
~/Documents/Songs:
/Composing
/Final
/Patches
/Web
All folders can be accessed in any view mode without any troubles, except "Composing".
If the parent folder "Songs" is set to icon or column view mode, then "Composing" can be opened.
But in list view (my default view), or coverflow, the opening action, regardless wether via mouse double click or keystroke CMD-ArrowDown, causes no update of the window content. The window content remains in a flawed look and responseless state, only closing or using the return-navigation on the toolbar UI area puts the window content into a correct and reactable state again, or opening a new window and navigating to "Songs" again.
The time-correlating message to this error in the Console.app log reads:
Finder *** -[NSCFArray insertObject:atIndex:]: index (9) beyond bounds (9)
Interestingly: If you are within "Songs" using the list view, collapsing the folder "Composing" via the triangle symbol successfully renders the folders content, and you can navigate further down in the hierarchy with the collapsing method, and even double-click subfolders, which then open normally in list view. Just "Composing" itself shows this mysterious bug.Maybe some of the invisible .DS_Store files in your folders are corrupt.
Launch your Terminal and paste the blue code below into it.
Press Return and type in your password - press Return again and wait for the word 'done.' to appear.
Then quit the Terminal.
sudo find / -name \.DS_Store -exec rm -fP {} \;;echo done.
Next, relaunch the Finder - press Command Option - click and hold down the Finder in your Dock and select Relaunch.
Good luck,
Tom -
The INBOX tab and the NEW FOLDER tab are entangled and are sitting one on top of the other so it's impossible to create a new email folder.

== Not sure. Maybe about two weeks ago.'' the bookmark facility is not functional in 29 ... Bookmark puts all bookmarks there into "recently bookmarked" ''
It does not.
It works much the same as the old system does. Or at least it should do and does do for me.
* Carefully reads the following article so you are certain what should be happening '''[[How to use bookmarks to save and organize your favorite websites ]]'''
# From an unbookmarked page click the bookmarks star.
#* That results in the bookmark being added, and yes initially it is just as an unsorted bookmark. (No doubt that is where most people put most bookmarks)
# IMPORTANT click the star a second time. (But not so rapidly it counts as a doubleclick)
#* You now have the options you had in the old version of Firefox <br /> Create new folders <br /> Save to a recently used folder <br /> Show all bookmark folders - and expand nested folders
If your bookmarks are not working possibly the file is corrupted in which case see
* http://kb.mozillazine.org/Bookmarks_history_and_toolbar_buttons_not_working_-_Firefox#Damaged_Places_database
I am hoping it is just that you are doubleclicking the star too quickly. -
Cannot open mail "home folder is full" after importing mail folder from time machine
hello, sorry for my poor english.
after an erase and reboot of my harddisk with new os yosemite installed, i've copied the mail folder from the time machine backup. but when i tried to open mail app it start to "import the mail box" and then stops saying that the home folder ins full, but it isn't, i've over 300gb freeWhat is your hard drive capacity and available free space after deleting a ton of stuff?
Try the following.
With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > Envelope Index.
Move the Envelope Index file to the Desktop.
When re-launching Mail, you will be prompted to import all mailboxes located within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail. Select OK and allow the import process to complete.
After confirming all mailboxes were successfully imported, you can delete the old Envelope Index file from the Desktop and this should resolve the problem. -
I don't know if this is a bug, but I'm running Lion.

So I have a file on my desktop and I cannot open it, move it to a folder, or delete it from my mac. I dont know what it has in it, and that makes me suspicious. What can I do to remove this unremovable file from my computer? Is it a virus?
First, I would recommend repairing the hard drive with Disk Utility.
If that doesn't fix the problem, there's a very dangerous command you can execute in the Terminal. This is very hazardous, because a simple typo can result in very drastic consequences. I have seen people erase their entire hard drive by putting a space in the wrong place! So, please follow the directions I'm going to give you very carefully!
Open the Terminal, which is found in the Utilities folder in the Applications folder. In the Terminal, enter the following:
sudo rm -f
Make sure to put a space after the "-f"! Then, drag the troublesome file from the Finder and drop it on the Terminal window. That should insert the path to the file in the command. Then go back to the Terminal and press return. You will be asked for your password, and when you type it, nothing will be shown as a security measure. Press return again after entering your password. The file should be deleted. -
I just installed Lightroom CC. When I try to open it, I get an error message: "An internal error has occurred. Cannot create the required folder: ..."

Once I try to open outlook for the user I get

If I search the content of the log files under

I just installed Camera Raw 8.7.1. It put the folders in a "Pug-Ins" folder under \Programs\Common Files. My Photoshop CC 2014 is in \Programs\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC2014. When I try to open a NEF file from my Nikon D750, CC 2014 says it cannot open it; it is an unsupported file type. So what do I need to do? TIA, Rob

I have set-up site definition (with user id and password) and used to be able to connect to the remote server, open remote folders, and upload and download files using Dreamweaver. However, all of sudden I cannot open the host directory remote folder where all of my website information are, It just times out. I can connect to the server, if I don't specify the host directory. I changed FTP time out in dreamwever to increase ftp time, but still it times out. I used to be able to open the host directory without any problem, and I have not changed any information in site definition. I have tried to use fireFTP, and I can connect to the server but cannot open the the host directory, same as in Dreamweaver.
Other pople working on the same website, with same site definition with the same user name and password can connect and open the same host directory remote folder using Dreamweaver on their pcs without any problem. So it seems like the problem is with my pc or Dreamweaver setting, even though I have not changed any settings.
Does anyone know what would be causing this problem and how I can resolve this issue? Thanks.I found out that the remote folder which I can't open (host directory) contains many wmv video files, which might be causing the problem of timing out using Dreamweaver on my PC. Other people can open the same folder using their Dreamweaver on their PCs.
I can connect to another remote server and open all the folders in Dreamweaver without any problems.
Is there any settings I can change in Dreamweaver or on PCs to resolve this issue, or any other suggestions? Thanks.
