Cannot open pdf in Internet explorer with a specific site

Hello,
I'm running adobe reader 10.1.4 on XenApp 6.5 servers.
On a specific site some users cannot open pdf in internet explorer. I need to delete there terminal server's profile to have it running fine again.
My question is; wich file or folder can i delete in user's profile to erase adobe settings?
Thanks a lot for your help and sorry for my english.

Hello,
I forgot to test this solution   but i've tried it this morning without success.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard and Pro - dialog prompt when opening PDF from Internet Explorer 9

    Good morning.
I am having an issue where our ends users that have either Adobe Acrobat X Standard (AAXS) or Adobe Acrobat X Pro (AAXP) cannot open a PDF within Internet Explorer 9 without being prompted by a dialog box to OPEN, SAVE or SAVE AS. Our user that have Adobe Reader X (ARX) only are ok. The ARX users can click on a PDF link within the browser and it will automatically open in a new tab. However, the AAXS and AAXP users will click on that same link, but are then prompted with a dialog box to either OPEN, SAVE or SAVE AS. Has any one else seen this before? We would like it to be so that all users - no matter what Adobe PDF program they are using of the 3 mentioned - can open a PDF link by just clicking on the link and no additional dialog options appear.
The ARX users have the same Internet settings within the Adobe preferences as the AAXS and AAXP users. The check box is checked to have PDFs open within the browser, which they do, but that dialog box always appears for AAXS and AAXP users. Any thoughts?
    Thank you.

Thanks for the reply. I stumbled across something today after posting. I had already known that If the ARX user also had one of the other products (AAXS or AAXP), then they would get the dialog box. Here is what I just figured out: if the user uninstalled ARX and re-installed (still having both ARX and AAXS or AAXP in the end) then they no longer get the dialog box. It seems like perhaps its an issue the AAXP and AAXS are overwriting something in the registry.

  • Can't open PDFs in Internet Explorer 9

    Hi there,
I've been having this problem for a while now, where I'm unable to open/preview PDFs in Internet Explorer 9.
Like, if I go to this page http://www.together-uk.org/work-for-us/current-jobs/ and click 'Benefits of working for Together' on the right NOTHING happends lol.
I have checked for updates on Adobe Reader X, I'm up to date. Everything is ticked off in the Internet tab of Adobe Reader X. I've tried everything I think?
    Please advise,
    thanks.

Works fine for me on IE10 and Firefox.
Try downloading the PDF to your local disk (right-click on this link http://www.together-uk.org/wp-content/uploads/downloads/2011/11/benefofworkingfortogether. pdf and select Save Target as...).
The problem is that the link on that website is a PHP, not a direct link to the PDF, so it may or may not work, depending on your browser settings.

  • Cannot open pdf files from websites with Adobe Acrobat X

Since purchasing and having my IT technician install Adobe Acrobat X, I can no longer open pdf documents that are hosted on websites.  We have many pdf documents on our business network and MS SharePoint sites.  Since the upgrade these will not open directly when selected in the MS Browser.  I can download the files to my computer and then open them.  I see the same issue with pdf documents hosted on "outside" websites.  I have set associations to pdf files to Adobe Acrobat 10  rather than the reader that is also installed on this machine but still have this same issue.
The error message window that opens in the browser says, "There is a problem with Adobe Acrobat/Reader.  If it is running, please exit and try again. (1:1)
I have tried with the Adobe application running and with it not running and there is no difference.
Is there something I can check or have my IT technician check to try and get this issue resolved?
I am runing Windows XP Professional with the latest service packs.
I am using Internet Explorer 8
    Thanks,
    Keith

    Hi Keith,
    Thanks for your mail.
Here's the link to the KB article that gives the details of how to configure the SharePoint server for Acrobat X. These changes enable PDF files opened directly from the SharePoint browser to be recognized as SharePoint files by Acrobat and this can be verified by going to the File menu in Acrobat. The File menu will have a menu item SharePoint Server.

  • Opening pdf in Internet Explorer on Windows

I attempt to open a pdf file in Internet Explorer and get the following message:
"The Adobe Acrobat/Reader that is running can not be used to view PDF files in a web browser. Plesx exit Adobe Acrobat/Reader and try again".
Acrobat Reader is then launched and the pdf opens.
Is there any way I can view directly in the web browser? I can do this in Firefox on both Windows and Linux.
(Also I've had to create a new screen Ziggy Short as Ben Short has been disabled on forums for some reason, but Ben Short and Ziggy Short are one and the same).
    Thanks

    What's,with,the,commas?
If you have a tablet that runs full Windows 8 - not Windows 8 RT, which is limited.
And if you install the full Adobe Reader for Windows, not the special Adobe Reader Touch for Windows 8.
Then you will have the same features as a desktop.
Unless they can't be accessed in touch mode, since it isn't a touch app.

  • Cannot create PDF in Internet Explorer 10

Using Acrobat 10.1.7.27.  Upgraded Internet Explorer to Ver 10.  Now cannot use the Printer function to create a PDF (print web page to PDF)  doing so causes IE to freeze and must be closed using tax manager

Once you start using MSIE 10 you want/need to be using Acrobat XI.

  • Cannot open pdf on 3.6.3 on some sites even though have latest A Reader

On several, but not all websites, when I want a pdf, I get a black page with a box with "Adobe Reader?" and a "Yes" button, which when clicked, does nothing to bring up the page. In other words, too often, I cannot open a pdf. This has been happening since I changed computers and moved to Firefox 3.6.3 on Windows 7 from AOL.
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== I changed computers, operating system version, and browser.

  • Cannot open PDFs in FireFox 19 with reader XI

Previously using FireFox 19 and Reader 9.5.x clicking on a pdf file in a web site (such as a bank statement) would open the file in Reader.  After upgrading to Reader XI when I click on the file it only wants to save the file as "session.pdf" or "session.CGI."
    1) What is causing this and what is the fix?
    2) Where can I down load Reader 9.5.x to replace XI?
If replying via email please note that correct email is [email address removed] and NOT [email protected].  I can't figure out how to change it for my login

Are you sure you are using the Adobe Reader plugin, and not Forefox 19's PDF viewer?  See http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1158136
Anyway, if you want to revert to Reader 9.x, uninstall your current Reader and download the installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

  • Cannot open pdf via internet

I tried the Repair Adobe Installation via the Help menu.  I get the following error message "Uninstallation of the patch package is not supported".  How can I fix this?

I forgot to test this solution   but i've tried it this morning without success.

  • Adobe acrobat X cannot open PDF files in Firefox, though IE can. What gives?

when I download a page that's a PDF file from the Web, Firefox cannot open it, although Internet Explorer can. I just uninstalled Adobe Acrobat Reader 5.0 because I had Adobe Reader X installed.

When I enter about:preferences#applications <Enter> in the address bar, then for PDF it shows:
pdf File (application/x-download) ... Use Adobe Acrobat Professional
pdf File (application/x-pdf) .... Use Adobe Acrobat Professional
Portable Document Format (PDF) ... Save File'''
I would like all PDF's to open in Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional.
Right now none of the PDF's open at all, so opening in Firefox or any other viewer would be preferred over not showing up at all.

  • Cannot open pdf files on my web site

i cannot open pdf files i uploaded to my web site. error message indicated i need to upgrade adobe reader. did that, still doesn't work.

What is the exact wording of the error? Apparently you got the PDFs from someplace else since you are using Reader. The major issue when uploading PDFs to a web site is to be sure you used a binary upload. PDF files are binary files and not ASCII files. I suspect that is the issue.

  • Cannot open PDF files on internet with Acrobat 7.0

I use Acrobat 7.0 to make and read my PDF files.  Also have reader 9.0 installed.  Today internet explorer 9 stopped reading pdf files on the internet.  Tried selecting both Acrobat 7.0 and Reader 9.0 but neither work.  Only get the cannot open the file message.  Tried three different sites to try different PDF files.  Suggestions???

Only for reading files there are some other (newer but small) viewing tools. remember that.
Also I wouldn't use the in-browser function of any tool you use. It's not necessary.
The file will be also downloaded to your machine, there is no on the fly reading or anything else you expect.
so why will you waste screen size caused by the second menu bar.
Set your browser to open .pdf files outside, so you get more control where files are saved and you get a better screen size.
In my opinion in-browser-pdf is senseless, just a confusing gimmick.
