Just cannot get the subscription "version" to open, I have the exe file on the desktop, it starts to work and install but just keep getting this error message

apology for the delay in response. You may also check for PDapp.exe process, and click End Process.
You have to Repeat for all additional instances of PDapp.exe processes.

  • I have re-installed Adobe Reader on to my Windows 7 PC. When I open a PDF I was getting an error message containing  . . . .Acrord32.exe application error . . . . I now cannot open any PDF's. Adobe seems to be unresponsive.

I have re-installed Adobe Reader on to my Windows 7 PC. When I open a PDF I was getting an error message containing  . . . .Acrord32.exe
I now cannot open any PDF's and Adobe seems unresponsive. I have tried to follow a step by step guide on how to fix this but Adobe won't stay open long enough for me to complete the steps. When I open Adobe it stays open for a matter of seconds then minimises to the task bar and when I click on it again I can't do anything with it and have to close it via task manager
    Please help!?

Disabling Protected Mode should fix the problem.  But since you cannot even open Adobe Reader by itself, you need to do it via the Windows registry.  If you tell me your installed Reader version, I can give you a registry script to do that.

  • Getting error "Cannot open the file "*****.INDD". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application."

    How to fix this problem
"Cannot open the file "*****.INDD". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing, or the file may be open in another application."

When I have seen this message it is either when I try to open a document with an older version of Indesign E.g. an indesign 2014 document with Indesign CC.
The other time I have seen it is to open an Indesign CC document with Indesign 2014 which does not have Mindsuite - a plugin I use. Mindsuite, as yet, has not upgrade the plugin for Indesign 2014 therefore it recognises that a the document was created withe a plugin that the 2014 version does not have installed.
I believe your problem will be something like that.

How do I resolve the issue Cannot open the file ".indd". Adobe InDesign may not support the file format, a plug-in that supports the file format may be missing , or the file may be open in another application?

Shouldn't the CC version be able to open any file created in an older version on InDesign?
    Yes, it ought to.
If the older file wasn't yours (if someone emailed it to you,or burned it on a disc, or whatever), then I am almost willing to bet you a beverage in the city of your choice that it's not a complete InDesign file. That is, maybe it was zipped and renamed, or the beginning or end of the file was chopped off during download, or something like that. The only reason I'm not actually making the bet is that there is a remote chance that I'd lose, and maybe you're in Adelaide or Khabarovsk or somewhere where the cost of airfare to me would make that bet a very expensive bet for me to to lose. So no latte for you if I'm wrong!
The script that Jongware posted will tell you what version of InDesign made the file to begin with. Additionally, if someone did something like rename YourFile.PDF to YourFIle.INDD, it'll report that it's Not An InDesign File. Because while SpectrumPCS is kinda right and that message can be generated when attempting to open a CS5 file in CS3 or whatever, it also spits out the same message when you just try to open an Autocad file, or a Windows system file, or a PDF, or any file that InDesign actually cannot open at all.

  • Cannot open any HTTP links in Adobe Acrobat 6.0

    Hi
We cannot open any HTTP links in Adobe Acrobat 6.0, that means if we click on HTTP link nothing happens.
Howto configure Acrobat 6.0 to open HTTP links, instead of Acrobat Update?

This happens because these are not true links. Links created with Acrobat using the link tool do not have this problem. Acrobat and Reader have a feature that tries to automatically recognize urls so they can act as links, but it fails when the link contains a space.

Why the question marks? Can you open PDF files or not? You don't need Firefox to open PDF files.

  • I cannot open videos that are sent in adobe flash player.  i have loaded Photon, and just bought Falcon Player, and still cannot open any video sent in adobe flash.  I understood that I was to download one of these as a substitute and could play my, video

Can someone help me to open videos that come in adobe flash player.  It says' my ipad 2 does not accept that.  i was told to down load either photon or Falcon player.  i have done both and still cannot open my videos.  i am 74 years old, electronically challenged, and NEED SOMEONES HELP, PLEASE!!  Thanks so very much to whomever has the time to he me.

Either get a screen cleaning cloth, or carefully us a slightly damp lint-free cloth and dry off with a dry link-=free cloth.
As to Flash Videos: I am in a similar same boat. I cannot watch flash videos on the BBC website or on BBC iPlayer, although all other flash videos (YouTube and FaceBook for example) are fine.
For reasons that passeth all understanding, they work with the PPC version of Firefox, called TenFourFoxG5.app, once you have anabled plug-ins, as it does not natively support Flash.
You can download TenFourFoxG5 from here:
    http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/
Now for the intersting bit: TenFourFox, like Firefox, does not support most plug-ins. Unless you are prone to headaches (in which case don't) you can read about that here:
    http://code.google.com/p/tenfourfox/wiki/PluginsNoLongerSupported
    But there is a workaround!
Open TenFourFox and type in the address bar: about:config (no spaces) and click return. This gives you a warning that it might harm the application. Ignore that and click on 'I'll be careful, I promise' and you get the config file that you can edit - with great care.
    Look/search (scroll down) for: tenfourfox.plugins.enabled
Set it to true. (Double click it to toggle it)
Now close TenFourFox, open it again, and Flash will now work, as it now uses the plug-ins that Safari has stored.
I am using Flash 10.1.102.64 in TenFourFox and it works just fine.

  • PDF docs deleted/cannot open after signing up for Adobe account

After I signed up for an Adobe account all the PDF docs in the Adobe app of my phone were cleared. They are still reflecting on my Download app but I cannot open them. Pls help.

Because you just signed up, you probably do not have any files on Acrobat.com ("cloud").
In the Reader home screen, could you tap Documents to see the files that are locally stored on your device (not on Acrobat.com)?

  • I cannot open a .dat file with adobe X1. Anyone have a solution, simple one please?

I have adobe x1 but I cannot open an email .dat file. Any easy solutions out there please?

As Test Screen Name states - Adobe Reader opens PDF files only.
So - fire up Bing or some other web search engine and look for applications that open / process / work email DAT files.

  • Cannot activate old version of Captivate

    Hello,
I have an old version of Captivate (v1) - I rebuilt my PC and need to re-install it - I have downloaded the software from "My Adobe" and installed it - but I am unable to activate the software...
When trying to activate online I am told I have no internet connection - I do, that's how I downloaded it - It looks like it tries to activate via macromedia.com, get directed to www-mm.wip4.adobe.com then to activate-mm.wip4.adobe.com and fails.
When trying to activate via the telephone number - the number provided is for Lloyds TSB Bank - 0800 068 9205
When using the Adobe phone activation number - 0800 3284536 - I have to enter a serial *number* my serial "number" starts with "CAD" - just entering the number doesn't work either.
Adboe offices are closed at the moment so I can't speak to anybody either.
Has anybody else experienced this, and know how to work around it?
Thanks for any help anybody can offer
    Cheers,
    Sean

I think that you need to contact Adobe Technical support. Adobe Captivate 1 is so old that most likely the activation servers doesn't exit anymore. I just read that Adobe has taken down the Activation server for all Adobe CS2 applications and they are not as old as Captivate 1.

  • Firxfox installed (without me agreeing!) and update and since then I cannot open it at all. RE-installation didn't help. I urgently need Firefox up and running with my bookmarks intact. Thank you

As mentioned above, when I opened Firefox this morning it installed automatically an update w/o me agreeing and I don't know what was isntalled. Since then I cannot open Firefox. Mozilla Crash Reporter opens and thell me Firefox had a problem and crashed. "We'll try to restore your tabs and windows when it restarts.
To help us diagnose and fix the problem, you can send us a crash report."
I press restart Firefox but I always just get the same message. I uninstalled it and downloaded it again, nothing is changing. I urgentlyu need to use the bookmarks as I don't have them in Explorer which I have to use now.
    Thank you

You need "sysinternal's process explorer", it is free and can replace the Microsoft process explorer, that you get by "CTRL+ALT+DELETE". Either program will allow you to kill the instances of FF that didn't die as they should have, when you closed them. Sysinternal is easier to use, it is a graphic display with many options. Do not push "CTRL+ALT+DELETE" twice unless you want to reboot, that is its default behaviour under Microsoft.
