Cannot open the manually downloaded apps on my iphone 4 after upgrading it to 4.3.3. Can anyone help?
I have just upgraded my iphone 4 to version 4.3.3. The upgrade was successful but I cannot use anymore those applications (e.g. facebook, google) which I downloaded from the Appstore. I tap on an app, I can see it opens itself but the screen changes to black for a few moments and after that it returns to the homescreen. But when I open the bottom line as i want to see the running apps, it shows that it is running. The applications which were already on the phone when I bought it (e.g. messages, mail, camera, youtube), are working correctly.
I tried to turn it off and on but nothing happens. I'm afraid to reset the phone to the original factory settings because I don't want to loose all my contacts and settings.
Please help me what can I do!
Well, I finally found the solution. I deleted two applications from the phone and downloaded them again from the Appstore, and they worked. But not only these 2, all of them.
I also uploaded some ringtones and syncronized the phone but I don't think these were the solutions.

using safari or a computer, go to apple.com. select store, and in the upper right, try to log into your account. See if they give you a hint at what the issue is, but it sounds like there is some issue with your account - probably easily fixable.

I've recently upgraded to firefox 3.6.7 and I now find that the 'recently bookmarked' tab in the bookmarks menu has disappeared. Does anyone know how to restore it because I find this a very useful feature. It was next to the 'recent tags' button that I never use.
All your data such as bookmarks, passwords etc., is contained in a folder called a "Profile". See: [[Profiles]]
You can recover your data from the old one if it's still intact and move it to the new profile. This article explains how to go about it: [[Managing Profiles]] -

Restart the iPad and see if the app will open. Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
If that doesn't work, reboot the iPaf and try again. Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
If that fails, Delete the app and reinstall it. Hold down on the app icon until it wiggles, then tap the X on the icon to delete the app. Tap the home button to stop the other app icons from wiggling. Then go back to the app store and download the app again. -

If you run into the "another installation" message even after the reboot of the PC (which is an excellent idea by HTP ProXy), reregistering your Windows Installer Service is worth a try.
First, launch a command prompt as an administrator. In your Start search, type cmd then right-click on the cmd that comes up and select "Run as administrator".
At the command prompt:
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /unregister and hit enter.
Type %windir%\system32\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Type %windir%\syswow64\msiexec.exe /regserver and hit enter.
Restart the PC and try another reinstalll. -

Let's start with iTunes.
Have you updated iTunes to 11.1.5, because the previous version did appear to have an issue about seeing iPods?
With iTunes 11.1.5 installed, look in Edit/Preferences/Devices, (or use the ALT key, followed by the E key and then the F key) and make sure that the box named Prevent iPods, iPhones and iPads from syncing automatically does not have a tick in the box.
Once you have doen those two things, check to see if the iPod is seen by iTunes.

OS stands for Operating System. (In computer speak, IO means Input/Output.)
iOS originally stood for iPhone Operating System, but it now refers to the iPod Touch and iPhone. The iPod Classic, which you have listed in your profile as your iPod, does not use iOS.
I assume that you have been listening to the Podcast in your iTunes on the computer as you cannot transfer it to your iPod. It's what I'd do. -

To configure your ODBC DataSource, go to Control Panel ---> DataSources(ODBC) (If you are in a Windows environment).
Select the tab System DSN. If you have not added your data source, then do so by clicking on the Add button. If you have added the datasource, click on the Configure button to configure it.
Give the datasource name, then the database name.
You have to give the hostname, service name and server name. I guess, in most cases, the datasource name and host name will be the same, service name and server name will be the same. If you are using TCP/IP, the protocol will be onsoctcp.
There will be a file named Services under C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc where you have to give the port number for accessing this server.
It will be like this <service name> <portnumber>/tcp

You need to do as provided. If no change after restoring as a new iPhone or not from the backup, the iPhone has a hardware problem.

Try to Restore with iTunes on your computer. If this does not work, there is full Warranty. Make Genius reservation or set up service and take or send to Apple for resolution.

Wait for the Apple logo to Appear...
Usually takes about 15 - 20 Seconds... ( But can take Longer...)
