Cannot open up youtube to watch videos without firefox quitting on me

Every time I open up youtube.com to watch a video, firefox will crash and quit on me. Additionally, if I want to watch a video from yahoo, the page will not load. The page doesn't say it is thinking (spinning wheel), but is just frozen and the only thing I can do is to close firefox.

I just removed [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/video-downloadhelper/ Video DownloadHelper 4.9.15] add-on and voila, Firefox doesn't freeze anymore. If you have it you better remove it. It worked for me maybe it will work for you!
I think you know how to remove an add-on but if you don't, read below:
*In order to uninstall a possibly unwanted extension, please do the following:
#From the Firefox window click the Firefox button at the top left and select ''Add-ons'', or, if the Firefox button is not shown, click the ''Tools'' menu and click ''Add-ons''.
#Once the Add-on Manager has opened in a new tab, click the ''Extensions'' button on the left side of the window.
#You should now see a list of your installed extensions on the right side together with buttons on the right side of each extension.
#To remove an extension from Firefox, simply click the ''Remove'' button. You should see a message that informs you about the successful removal of the add-on.
#Note that some add-ons require a Firefox restart to be removed completely. To perform a Firefox restart after the add-on removal, click the ''Restart now'' link in the message.
*You can find further information about uninstalling extensions in the following articles: [[Disable or remove Add-ons]]

I just purchased an Apple TV MD199LL/A, got it connected to my internet.  I can go to Youtube and watch videos.  I'm able to access Netflix.  All seems well except I cannot connect to my iTunes account.  I have gone through the list - home sharing is set correctly on both iTunes and my Apple TV.  The userid is correct on both.
Message "Loading prodrigu's library" and then "Could not connect to prodrigu's library".
I had this same problem when I installed the REMOTE application on my ipad.  Everything on the list was affirmative, but had the same problem not being able to connect to my iTunes.
What is missing?  Is there a firewall setting that could be causing this?

I don't mean to be facetious but sometimes the simplest things are overlooked.  To connect to your library you have to have the computer where the iTunes library is located running and with iTunes open.  It also needs to be on the same network.  My network is dual band and works with either stream but a friend of mine does not.  He has to set the computer and the Apple TV to the same band.  Hope this helps.

  • How do I watch videos without them stopping all the time?

How do I watch videos without them stopping all the time?
I have Snow Leopard on two computers and IOS5 on IPad 2. Videos will not run without stopping. I am talking about videos like on Yahoo and YouTube etc.

Slow Internet download speeds are typically responsbile, if you have 5 Mb/s or slower it's really bad. 10 Mb/s or higher is preferred and 20 Mb/s or better is ideal.
If you use a alternate DNS service like GoolgeDND or OpenDNS which has to fetch Akami hosted content from overseas instead of using your much closer ISP servers.
If your router is the old G model, upgrade to N.
If your wifi is open, you could have leechers. The more on the network, even a fast one, the slower it gets.
Secure your network info here etc.,

Tried to install Firefox but an error message "Extraction failed - cannot open output file" always pops up, without a reason. Why's this happening?

Try to disable your anti-virus software temporarily to see if that makes it work.
You may need to delete the temp folder (%TEMP%) to remove the old files.

Some problems with Flash video playback can be resolved by disabling hardware acceleration in your Flash Player settings. (See [[Flash Plugin - Keep it up to date and troubleshoot problems|this article]] for more information on using the Flash plugin in Firefox).
To disable hardware acceleration in Flash Player:
#Go to this [http://helpx.adobe.com/flash-player/kb/video-playback-issues.html#main_Solve_video_playback_issues Adobe Flash Player Help page].
#Right-click on the Flash Player logo on that page.
#Click on '''Settings''' in the context menu. The Adobe Flash Player Settings screen will open.
    # Click on the icon at the bottom-left of the Adobe Flash Player Settings window to open the Display panel. <br/> <br/>[[Image:fpSettings1.PNG]] <br/>
    # Remove the check mark from '''Enable hardware acceleration'''.
    # Click '''Close''' to close the Adobe Flash Player Settings Window.
    # Restart Firefox.
This [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/help01.html Flash Player Help - Display Settings page] has more information on Flash Player hardware acceleration, if you're interested.
Does this solve the problem? Let us know.
If this does not fix the issue, you may need to reinstall Adobe Flash Player on your computer.

  • I cannot open any attachments in hotmail when using firefox 4 beta

I cannot open any attachments in hotmail when using firefox, but had no problems with the attachments when using safari. I much prefer using firefox and don't want to have to change.
    Can anyone help please?

Same here, firefox cannot open any attachment, the page simply refresh itself or perhaps its not refresh but some kind of ajax. But NOTHING happens at all.
Attachment downloads fine if I use IE though.

  • I cannot open PDF files when I am using Firefox, how can I fix this?

I cannot open PDF files while I am using Firefox. This is true for opening PDF pages in Firefox and outside of Firefox.

I ran into the same problem, and here is what I have done to fix it.
    Go to Tools/Add-ons
You might have to get the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader (Likely 10.x.....)
On any exiting Adobe Acrobat Reader select disable (to disable the plug-in)
If you have already gotten the latest Adobe Acrobat Reader just disable any earlier version.
There is no official way to uninstall a plug-in so this it the workaround.
If you do need to uninstall the plugin you need to type about:config ....about:plugins search for the article to do it.

  • Youtube app watching videos stuck

i have a problem whenever i try to watch video on youtube app on my iphone 4 i have the latest ios 6.0.1
it starts playing and then i can wait a long time and it doesn't load. if i use my Macbook don't have any problem and i talk about doing it over my Wifi.
I thought to wipe out everything and try to restore everything, but the problem to have a clean env clear the data (text, photos and everything) and i don't know how to wipe out everything and bring only contacts and messages without all the setings.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.

  • How can you watch videos without flash player?

Is there any way to watch videos on ipad that say you need flash player.  I know Apple does not support Flash Player.  It's really annoying.

I use Puffin, most recently, it is actually much faster than Safari, as advertised. Videos play flawlessly, also supports games, etc. And it is Free, or atleast offers a free version.
Photon is extremely popular as well, but is not a free app, and I find that it is much slower than the Puffin app honestly.
However just search the App Store as others have said, and read the reviews, you will find a bunch of apps. Reviews are generally numerous and reliable.

  • Watching Videos in Firefox

    Hey,
After installing the newest flashplugin I was able to watch videos on youtube and other sites but somehow I cant watch movies from http://www.own3d.tv/, I can't even see the embedded Videoplayer interface on other pages.
I hope someone can tell me how to solve this problem.
    Rgds
    shahon

I hope I can post here.
On many websites (i.e. Youtube, Dailymotion...) using flash, when I click on play, or pause, it's absolutely without effects, since a long time.. (I tried with Firefox, or others browsers, it's the same)..
    Thanks in advance

  • How do I watch videos inside Firefox?

I am having problems watching Microsoft help videos within Firefox, like the one in this page: [http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/products/features/windows-media-player-12]
FF suggested that I download the MS Media player Firefox Plugin WMPfirefoxplugin.exe 1.0.0.8 . I installed it, but as a result, when I click on the video, it opens up full screen in the same tab. It looks impressive, BUT ...is there a way that I can watch those vids in the small frame inside the original web page, like it happens with youtube videos?
    Thanks!! (-:

As I wrote above, you can't play that video embedded in Firefox.<br />
If you hover the player then you will notice a .wmv video link in the Status Bar.<br />
That will cause Firefox to open the video in a new tab or window.
MS has decided to hide the embedded player for other browsers.<br />
If you look at the View > Page Source then you can see the there is conditional code for IE to embed the player.<br />
There is this code that hide that player for Firefox:
    <pre><nowiki>div.wmpObjectContainerInit div.wmpObjectDiv{margin-bottom:7px;display:none;}</nowiki></pre>

  • Can't watch video on firefox e.g. bbc iplayer, video doesnt load, what should I do?

When I click on bbc iplayer, no vdeos load or work. I just seen a black screen. BBC news and bbc football I can't watch any videos

By all means try the Reset as advised by Tyler, but note you then loose extensions, open tabs, and possibly some settings, as explained in the article Tyler linked to. (You may wish to bookmark tabs, and extensions home pages. Plugins are not touched by reset)
    I note you
    * have been using the article [[Flash 11.3 doesn't load video in Firefox]]
    * downgraded to Flash 10.3 (see system details aside)
    * have RealPlayer related software/plugins, so please ensure that is all fully updated
If the reset does not work the next thing to try is disabling Flash Players protected mode, that solves a lot of FlashPLayer problems on Firefox Windows. (Not the simplest of tasks but this [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/forums/support-forum-contributors/708905?last=50206#post-50153 post] contains links to instructions)
As an aside YouTube does or did have options to try HTML5 beta versions, you may need to check whether or not you are enrolled in that, as that may solve or cause problems in some circumstances.

  • I cannot open images in my email since the Firefox update. Help!

I cannot open images in my email or view the embedded photo in a new tab since the Firefox Update. "IE" will let me open them, but not Firefox... How can I fix this?

Hi Pat..When I tried to run Fix It the computer pops up a screen that says this trouble shooter does not apply to this computer .The article refers to Internet Explorer 10 and Im running Internet Explorer 11. I did try to see it it would fix my problem but the registry entry does not exist on my computer (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\TabProcGrowth) I can get as far as HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer but I dont have the option to choose Main. I only have the option to choose New Window which does not open up when clicked. Internet Explorer also has no value. Is there anything else I should try?
