Cannot paste copied events

Hi,
My boss asked me to help him bring over a bunch of events from a google calendar to a local calendar. First of all, it appears in iCal 3, there's no way to select all events like you could do with the search results pane in iCal 2. I discovered that if you type doublequote-spcae in the search field, you can do it, but that's extremely unintuitive. Anyway, I was able to select all the events and copy them, but when I clicked on the calendar I wanted to paste them to, 'paste' was greyed out. What the heck? I do this all the time in iCal 2. Why can't I do it in iCal 3? Is it because the calendar was created by google calendar? I couldn't even find a single .ics file in ~/Library/Calendars which had all the events from one calendar. I figured out I could export the calendar from google and then import, but what if I don't want the whole calendar? Come on!

I did specify what I tested it with.
Since the OP implied that it worked before an update to the Firefox browser, but not after that is why I suggested testing with other browsers including the one that I used successfully.
However remote the possibility, there was the thought that the update could somehow have damaged some system file or other shared file.
Regardless, a suggestion has been made for a workaround. That method can also be used to generate images for linking via the Place command.

How to catch paste/copy events in JTextField?

Hi,
I am trying to get paste/copy events in a JTextField when user uses CTRL-V or CTRL-C to paste or copy texts. Here is what I do:

The strange thing is, every time I use ctrl-v, ctrl-c, or ctrl-x to paste/copy/cut, there is always a special character (like a small square, or rectangle?) showing up at the end.
I have to use jdk1.4.1 since I am working on a old product. That does not happen in jdk1.5 environment.
I used getText() to get pasted text and then did a trim like this:
String pastedText = getText().trim();But it seems the length of a pasted text is still the same after trim.
How can I get rid of this unwanted special character?

How can I copy and paste an event in calendar?

In the ios5 version of calendar you can cut and paste an event by simply dragging it from one day to another in month view. However I can see no way of copy and pasting a recurring (but irregular) event. As someone who works irregular shifts I would love to be able to do this to build a calendar of my working month.

Open one document in Pages v5.5.3, Open a second document in Pages v5.5.3. Select, copy, and paste one page between source and destination documents. Document objects such as Text boxes, shapes, images, tables, etc must be individually selected, copied, and pasted.

Copy/Paste an event?

Is there any way to copy and paste an event in the calendar that doesn't lend itself to the repeat functionality? For example; an appointment that occurs in week 1 on Monday and Thursday, week 2 on Monday and Wednesday, week 3 on Tuesday, Friday and Saturday, etc...

Same answer to multitasking, multiple simultaneous connections, and multi-threading: Palm OS doesn't support it. Windows Mobile has this nice, tap-and-hold menu akin to the right-click menu where you can copy/cut/paste entire events, files, etc. Unfortunately, I don't know how you would do this in Palm OS. On the Palm Desktop, maybe? (Palm Desktop is the desktop software, Palm OS [renamed Garnet OS] is the software that control's the Palm device's hardware, etc. Not the same thing. Just trying to clear any confusion before it starts...)

If you have any fast copying software( Teracopy) then uninstall it. After uninstall complete reboot your computer and try copy-paste again

I cannot get Copy & Paste to work in iOS 5

I cannot get Copy & Paste to work on my iPhone or my iPad since updating to iOS 5.1
I can copy and paste within an app, buy copying from one app, then going into another, Paste is not available.
Anyone one else having this isuue? I have tried rebooting both devices but no change.

I just checked this out by opening a doc in PlainText and copying some sameple text that I typed. I hit enter a couple of times, pressed on the screen, the paste button appeared and I was able to paste no problem.
I then opened a fresh document in Pages and pressed on the screen to open the paset button and got the text to paste into the Pages doc with no problem.
You may have a glitch in your iOS 5.1 update. You might try doing a reset all settings reset and set the phone as a new one (You should not lose any data, or media) You will need to go in and reset any changes you may have made in settings as this set all of them back to factory defaults but your music, pictures, data, email accounts etc. will not be erased.
If this doesn't work you may need to reinstall the iOS again.I think you can do this through iTunes but am not 100% sure. You may need to take it to your local genius bar (Hope you have one close to your house) and ask them to reinstall the OS for you.

Cannot paste any online pictures from any websites into word/powerpoint/onenote 2013

I cannot paste any pictures/ images copied from any websites into word, powerpoint and onenote.
Now, i am so stressful because this strange problem occurs with both versions of Microsoft Office (2010 and 2013). I had updated the Microsoft Office from 2010 to 2013
with the hope that this problem will be solved in 2013 version but I was so disappointed. I was so addicted to onenote and cannot live without onenote. In the past, I always used onenote to store countless handmade-creating articles and so many other information
found on websites and other resources by simply copying (Ctrl + C) and pasting (Ctrl + V) them into onenote without any problems.
This strange problem has occurred and resisted approximate 2 months. Now I am almost going insane. I am longing for help, any help from the online community. Please!
I will describe the problem in more details.
-My laptop was Asus N550JV, and it was installed only one operating system: Window 8 single language by manufacturer. Nothing such as virtual machine or multiple operating
systems in this laptop.
-This problem occurred with all websites, not only with a certain website or a specific website.
-It occurred with all of my latest-updated web-browsers, including firefox, internet explorer (which was pre-installed by factory in my window 8), opera, safari, chrome.
-Despite of using whatever web-browsers listed above, although the whole articles (text and pictures) on these websites were copied, however there was only text pasted
successfully, excluding pictures.
-Pictures/ images were not pasted together with text. The onenote/word/powerpoint only shows a blank space where the picture should be in. If I click on this blank space,
a frame will appear covering this blank space inside, and the url address of this picture was shown. The
“drawing tools”
tab appeared instead of “picture tools”
tab. I guessed the pasted pictures were considered as drawing objects, not as pictures.
-After many unsuccessful attempts to solve this problem in Microsoft Office, some days ago I decided to install Open Office of Apache in the same laptop in order to make
a control test between the two programs. I was successfully in copying and pasting text and pictures on many websites (using whatever web-browsers I am having) into text document of Open Office without any problems. Pasting pictures and text from websites
into Open Office was successful, so that what the hell was happened with my Microsoft Office?
-If I download or save the pictures found on websites to my laptop then using the
“insert picture”
function to insert these pictures into word/ppt/onenote, these pictures were inserted successfully without any problems.
-Copying and pasting text and pictures from old articles stored in onenote to a newly created word document were successful without any problems. Copying and pasting text
and pictures between word and word, onenote and onenote were successful without any problems.
-It was concluded that this problem only occurred with online pictures pasted from websites, while inserting or pasting the downloaded pictures were successful
without any problems.
-My internet connection was not disrupted during copying and pasting processes.
-My Canon laser printer only recognized and printed the text lines, there were only blank spaces in the places where the pictures should be in.
During two months since having this problem, I have searched so many times in order to find a solution. All of solutions listed behind I already found on internet and tried
them all but nothing worked! This problem still resisted in Microsoft Office 2013 and now I am so sad and tired because of it.
List of solutions I found and tried but nothing worked:
-Right-clicking then choose "paste option: keep source formatting”
and choose “set as default paste option"
-On the
View tab of the Ribbon or on the status bar, choose
Print Layout view, not Draft view.
-Go to
Office Button | Word Options | Advanced: Show document content and make sure that
“Show drawings and text boxes on screen”
is checked and that “Show picture placeholders”
is not checked.
-Go to
Office Button | Word Options | Display: Printing options and make sure that
“Print drawings created in Word”
is checked.
-On the
Home tab of the Ribbon, locate the
Paragraph group and click the dialog launcher arrow in the bottom right corner to open the
Paragraph dialog; in that dialog, make sure that line spacing of the paragraph the picture is in is not set to an
Exact value.
-Paste the picture and immediately press
Ctrl+Shift+F9 to unlink it. The picture will then be embedded in your document.
-If you find that Word hangs when you try to paste, you can instead select
Edit | Paste Special and choose “Device-independent Bitmap”
instead of the default of “HTML format.”->
I could not try this solution because my paste special options only had three choices: unformatted text, html format, unformatted unicode text.
-Select File, Options, Advanced, then under
Cut, Copy, Paste section set "insert/paste picture as”:
tight/ inline with text/ through/ square/ top and bottom/ in front of text/ behind text… -> I have tried all
choices but nothing worked.
-Rename the Normal.dot or Normal.dotm global template file: run cmd.exe and type
ren %userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates\Normal.dotm OldNormal.dotm. Then type
exit, and then press Enter. Or go to C:\Users\Home\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates to rename the Normal.dot/ Normal.dotm file manually.
-Turn off the "Use draft quality" option:
Click
File, and then click Options. Click Advanced,
Under Print, click to clear the Use draft quality check box. Click OK.
-Change the view to:
Print Layout/ Full Screen Reading/ Web Layout/ Print Preview
For Word 2010-2013: Click File, and then click Print.
-Check the box for
“Print background colors and images”
at File | Options | Display: Printing options.
-Check the box for
“Show background colors and images in Print Layout view”
at File | Options | Advanced: Show document content.
-Using repairing function to repair the Microsoft office 2013.
Nothing worked! I have no clue of what have been happened with my Microsoft Office! Please help!

To Steve Fan: I created the new second user account in my window 8. It was set as a standard account, not as administrator account as my first original user account. Specifically, i used the same email address with this forum account's to
create this second user account. It means that the second user account in my laptop also was a Microsoft account.
Can you guess what happened after i had logged in to the second user account? I opened some random websites by firefox, copied and pasted all text and pictures on these websites into a word document and onenote successfully without any problems!!!!
I saved this word document and exported this onenote section to a Usb. After that, i switched from second standard user account to my window administrator account and opened the two files which were saved to Usb previously. They were opened and displayed
normally as the same as what i previously had seen in the second user account, i.e. pasted text and pictures were displayed normally. However, when i opened the same web address again to copy the same text and pictures to word and onenote, there were only
text lines pasted successfully, excluding pictures! This old strange problem happened again when using original administrator account for logging in window. In contrast, when using the second standard user account to log in window, copying and pasting text
and online pictures of Microsoft office worked normally.
I truly don't figure out the reason(s) caused this strange problem. I think my case is a special case because i tried all solutions other people had tried but nothing worked.
Please help me!
p/s: when i logged in the second standard user account, i opened the paste special options in word and there were only 3 choices under paste special options, excluding "device independent bitmap"

Workflow copy event

Hi,
I am using Content Services with workflow executed by BPEL.
It works fine for all events like upload, delete… All of these events point on a correct document id : the document that is uploaded or deleted.
Now I want to use the copy event. The problem with that event is that the pointed document id is the source document and not the target. And I am more interested in the target document than in the source one.
For example I have a document which path is : /site/library1/doc1, it id is 111111. I copy this document and paste it in folder /site/library2. The id of this new document is 2222. To do my workflow job I need the second id. How is it possible to grab it ?
With the API I have found the REQUEST_TARGETS attribute that I use to get the document id but this attribute does not works for the copy event,
Could you help me on this point ? How is it possible to get the target document id of a copy event?

if not, try getting the target items by using REQUEST_DEFINITIONS instead of REQUEST_TARGETS.

Cannot paste formatted text.

I am using ID CS 3 on a Macbook Pro, running OS 10.6.2.
My problem is that I have text formatted italic and bold from Text Edit but I cannot paste the formatted text (or import it) into ID without losing all formatting. I went to this Discussion Forum and looked there first and the only fix I am finding is to make sure that preferences allow me to paste formatted text. In my ID preferences it is selected that when pasting text from the clipboard that all styles will be retained but this is not what happens. I can copy and paste the formatted text in TextEdit and can also create formatted text within ID and copy and paste that as well. But I cannot do this between the two programs.
Any suggestions?

What I am trying to place is an rtf text.
What I have done since posting this issue:
1. Restarted ID several time, restarted computer.
2. Logged in on another account, bypassing all logon items.
3. Disabled all added plugins, leaving just the Adobe and required plugins.
4. Started with a fresh ID document.
None of this has solved the problem, I simply CANNOT paste in formatted text.
Other suggestions?

JavaScript in PDF: catch copy event

Hello everyone!
I hope this is a right place to ask my question.
I have two questions about PDF documents.
First. Can I make Acrobat Pro/Reader copy text with leading spaces? I mean to say if there is some text row and at the beginning of it there are some spaces, than when I'm trying to copy that line - I'll get only text and not leading spaces.
For example I have a line:
Some text here
and after I'll copy it from PDF and paste it in notepad I'll get next row:
Some text here
Can I change this behavior somehow?
Second. I want to place a page number in buffer when copying. So, if on page number 5 there is a line I'm going to copy, after paste I want to get something like that:
Page 5
Coppied line
I was trying to use JavaScript for this, but I did not found any way to solve my problem. Is it possible at all? And if possible, in what dirrection I should take a look?

It's actually not the right place for this question. It belongs in the Acrobat Scripting forum...
But anyway, the asnwer to both questions is no.
The position of text in a PDF is not created by adding spaces or tabs before it, so you can't copy them when you copy the the text.
The same goes for JavaScript, which can only get single words out of the text.
JavaScript also can't "catch" the copy event. The closest you can get is to execute the Edit:Copy menu item through JavaScript's execMenuItem(), but you can't influence the text that is being copied, so you can't add the page number before it.

Cannot paste into a discussion window.

Obviously, I can TYPE into this discussion window and I can even copy/paste into the subject/title window but I cannot PASTE into the discussion window.
The only browser we can use here is IE 8 (8.0.7601.17514) so I cannot test with another browser.
I can copy/paste to other editors and into other browser tabs but I cannot paste here.
I seem only one other comment about thsi froma few days ago, so I suppose it's my machine / setup. But what?

Copy event structure

I use LV DSC RT 8.2.1
Why can't I copy&paste an event structure together with his events specification (to the same VI)?
(I can create a copy of an event structure but his events specification are blank)
Is there a way to do it ?

Never hide event structures inside case structures. Event structures queue up events even if they are not in the datapath. Also, by default event are set to "lock the front panel until the event completes" (you can change that, but why would you?). Since you fire an event that is not in the datapath, the event can never complete and the front panel will be locked forever!
You also need an event for the stop button. This way you don't need to needlessly spin the loop via the timeout event.

Cannot Paste Excel info into PDF files

We are an Accounting firm.
I need to past copied information from Excel into PDF files.
We have 35 users that use Adobe Standard 9.5.
We have one use that uses Adobe X Standard.
The 35 users can paste into a PDF file with no problems.
The 1 User of Adobe X Standard cannot.
Can someone please assist me is getting Adobe X Standard to allow a simple paste from Excel into the PDF.

I don't know if this will help, but I ran into this problem myself today. We had an upgrade, and no one could figure out why I couldn't paste my small Excel table into my pdfs, which I have done through 9 and now X Pro.
I compared my Preferences, and the problem was there.
In Edit/Preferences/Comments, all options should be checked in the first of three sections. Once I checked all of those options, I could paste into the pdfs again.
Hope this helps - actually hope you found the solution long before now.

Cannot paste data into datasheet view

I have a user who is reporting a problem when trying to copy/paste data from Excel 2007 into a MOSS 2007 Datasheet view. This functionality was working for her previously as recently as last month. According to the user, she has not had any changes
done to her machine recently (same machine, still using IE7, no recent installs). I tested the copying/pasting feature from my machine and I also cannot paste into the datasheet view. My colleagues do not have an issue though. Has anyone
run into this problem before?
My gut reaction is that this is a broswer issue, rather than a SP issue but I am not seeing any browser settings which appear to apply. Any suggestions?

I experienced this issue on a list field that was defined as multiple lines of text where I had 'Enhanced rich text' as the default. Users got a 'read-only' error when attempting to paste data frokm Excel into a record.
Once I changed the setting in 'Specify the type of text to allow' to
'Plain text', the issue resolved itself. I hope this infromation helps someone else out there!

Microsoft Excel cannot paste the data

Hi,
I have a user that is working on a Vista Terminal Server with Excel 2010 on it. The user will copy a large amount of data in Excel 2010 and try to paste it into Excel 2010 on his local machine being Win 7 and Excel 2010. Sometimes it works, for
example if the terminal server has just been rebooted, but then most of the time Excel locks up and throws this error "Microsoft Excel cannot paste the data". Has anyone ever had this problem and if so, have an answer for the problem? Anyone have
any suggestions? Could it possibly be the clipboard?

I had to create an acct here just to reply in hopes I could help others with this error as it was driving me nuts.
There is one solution I have not seen suggested, that I determined I could reproduce 100% of the time for the messagebox error of "Microsoft Excel cannot paste the data" either between workbooks, worksheets, or even within the same worksheet.
I wonder how many of these folks have clipboard managers/enhancers running? Even though there is no legitimate reason a simple paste even of unformatted cells of only values would still result in the above error, but in my case having CLIPJUMP running
and simply maintaining clipboard history of multiple entries, a simple single data item paste from Excel, to Excel, results in this Excel error.
My clipboard manager <tries> to grab formatting, as do many others, which is why I believe some posted workarounds involving pasting into another app and back have helped.
So, even though they may not ever conflict with anything.....disable <anything> that touches the clipboard in <any> way, and from what I can tell that will solve many occurrences of this error since different clipboard managers/enhancers
have become more and more common.
Simply shutting down my clipboard manager for the time I use Excel has 100% eliminated this error.
