Cannot Place Quick Time Object Controller in Power Point

I get a Visual Basic Error message that reads "Object library not registered" when I try to place a QuickTime object on a Power Point slide. Can anybody help me figure out how this can be done? I need to embed a Quick Time movie into a Powerpoint presentation (without having to link to it) It can be done with Flash and Real video, but for some reason I cannot get it to work with QuickTime. Does anyone have any experience with this? Do I need to buy QuickTime Pro in order for it to work?
Thanks,
Greg

You could look to use Presenter to create quiz question slides in the PPT deck, and then the Mobile viewers should see them and be able to interact (I think).
The issue with the SWF file is Apple considers that SWF to be a real-time change to the code of the room, and disables it as that is against their policy for apps. So I'm not sure that there is anything you can do differently to your SWF to make it work. Have you tested loading the SWF directly into a share pod, without the PPT? Not sure that that would result in anything different, but worth a try.

    any suggestions please??????

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing QuickTime again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Cannot install Quick time 7 on Windows

hi everyone. I am having a hard time installaing quick time version 7 on my windows XP SP2.
Installer kicks off and after 5 seconds, I get messange "another process is running. terminate" or something like that. I am not running any other processes. I even went through MSCONFIG and checked off all third party processes but get the same result.
I could install Quick time version 6.1. without issues though. Because I cannot install quick time, I cannot install iTunes. I cannot use iPod without the iTunes!!! Can somebody please help me out here?
I tried the latest version 7.6 and also tried 7.2 but nothing works. only 6.1 could be installed on my PC.

For what it's worth, at the point the installation fails, Bonjour, Apple Application Support, and Apple Mobile Device Support all show as installed on Control Panel. Apple Software Update has a link on the Start Menu but does NOT show as installed on Control Panel. Is there a way to install this separately from iTunes?

  • Cannot open Quick Time movies in iLife 11

I got my first digitized Super8 films back on an external hard drive, 1 TB. They were converted to Quick Time movies 1280x720,
Codecs: Component Y' CbCr 10bit 4:2:2 ( I have no idea what this all means). All I had asked was to get them in .mov files. Quick Time movies seems to be something different than .mov files.
What can I do to open these Quick Time movies and to edit them in iLife 11?
Would appreciate if somebody could help me .

The information about the codec in Final Cut Express is at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3523
I have a lot of old Super8 films and decided to get them digitized. After that I intend to discard the old analog films and keep two copies of these old Super8 movies on external hard drives. Therefore I am looking for the best possible quality at a reasonable price.
The first batch last year was digitized to what they called uncompressed .mov files and could be easily imported and edited in imovie.
For the second batch (another service) I decided to go HD in .mov files, again uncompressed (the HD quality 1280x720 seems to be remarkably better) What I got are these Quick Time movies that I cannot open in Quick Time and imovie does not let me import these Quick Time movies, whereas the uncompressed .mov files last year were a breeze to handle. What's the difference between 'uncompressed' .mov files vs. Quick Time 'uncompressed' that I cannot open in imovie.
Now you are pointing out that FCE does not let me edit uncompressed QT files. How do I convert to .mov or MPEG Streamclip?
Would I purchase Final Cut Express only to be able to open those movies in Quick Time?
Feels like I am at the low end of the learning curve.
Appreciate all help I can get for my project.

  • Cannot unlock Quick Time to Quick Time Pro

    Hello,
When I enter the key code in the settings to unlock the soft (Quick Time in the control panel), nothing seems to happen.
And then, when I open Quick Time, seems that it is still Quick Time and not Quick Time Pro...
    Any help ?
    Thanks !

When you entered the info in the Control Panel did the bottom of that window say "QuickTime 7 Pro"?
Does the File menu now show without the word "Pro" in any items?
If this is so then you've successfully entered the info and you have Pro. If not use copy paste from the email confirmation to the registration fields in the Control Panel and try again.

  • Cannot run quick time.

When starting quick time I get the following error.  quick time unavailable error #2096.  When trying to remove quick time it gets fatal error during installation.

What kind of videos?  Flash videos like on youtube?  Then you need to install Adobe Flash player.  Other kind of videos?  Maybe you should install Perian.  And perhaps you would have better luck using another video player like VLC.

  • Cannot download Quick Time and/or Itunes on my new HP Computer

    Hello,
I am having trouble downloading Quick Time and ITunes on my new HP computer. I have tried downloading it without ITunes as well as with ITunes. I keep getting the message when I try to Run Quick Time that Quick Time was interrupted. It tells me that another program is being installed (which there is not) and that program has to finish installing. This is crazy. Btw, my new computer has Vista. I have tried getting rid of all of the downloads and restarted my computer. This does not help. What should I try next?

  • I cannot open Quick Time Player at all

I am simply trying to open Quick Time Player to record a self video. I go to my Applications folder, click on Quick Time Player. It loads into the dock, I double click on the QTP icon, nothing happens. I right click on the QTP icon and get a mini menu of options that don't seem to apply to opening the program to include nothing in the Options (and there is not a selection of "SHOW" only Show All Windows which merely lists four movies I have on my hard drive. Any suggestions from anyone?  Keep it real simple please and assume nothing. I'm of the slide rule era, well before the 8086 days and grew up on the PC.  Thanks.

Double-click the QuickTime Player and choose New Movie Recording from the File menu. The QuickTime Player will only have a window open when instructed to do so; the items in the menu bar will change when it's launched.

  • I downloaded Yosemite and now I cannot print on Mac Word, Excel, and Power Point

    Please help.
I download Yosemite a few weeks ago and now I cannot print documents on Mac Word, Excel, and Power Point. I attempted to reinstall the software and it still doesn't allow me to print documents. Below you will see the error messages I get when I try to print. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Update MS Office suite to be the most up-to-date version and also run Software Update to see if there are updated printer drivers for your printer.
Going forward please post Office for Mac questions in the correct forum, this is an iMac forum. There is an Office for Mac forum hosted by Microsoft, the link is Office for Mac Product Forums

  • Cannot get Quick time to open for a WMV

I have Quicktime and flip4mac, with latest upgrades.
I usually have not problems with a MWV.
I got a slide show MWV from my daughter that is a video of slides.
I cannot open it as two windows open and says :
    (1)
The document “2010 graduation_1.wmv” could not be opened. The movie is not in a format that QuickTime Player understands.
You may need to install additional software to open this type of file.

You may need to install additional software to open this type of file.
I tried changing the open from QuickTime to WMV Player (flip4mac) in the get info also.
    Any idea how to :
    (A) Find out what the format issue I am having is ?
    (B) What other plug-in / software I would need ?
I tried Apple website and they list the Flip4mac to download, which I already have.
    Thanks,

    How can I determine what

the file name you are dealing with (with the _1.wmv ending) might be a duplicate of the original file.
search for files with that name, and if there are more than one, compare the file size.
your download may have been incomplete.
As to Flip4Mac, once it is installed, it operates through QuickTime. You don't need to relaunch it to open a wmv file.
As you mentioned, dragging the file to QT in your dock should play the file.
One thing that helped me immensely with F4M, was the following tip from their website:
+Snow Leopard and Quicktime changed significantly so Flip4Mac had to make changes to be compatible. Please go to Flip4Mac Preference pane, Player tab, Advanced and add Quicktime Player. See page 16 of the PDF User Guide.+

Large hi-res WMV files I recorded using an Olympus Voice Recorder used to take over 30 minutes to load into QT. Now they open in just seconds. Very pleased!

  • Quick Time Pro will not launch

10/04/10: I downloaded Quick Time 7 and purchased a key for Pro. I can open video files with QT7Pro but I cannot launch Quick Time from either the short cut that was created or from the All Programs. The only thing that happens is that the Apple Quick Time logo and name appear in the bottom of the screen as though the program was shrunk down. It will not launch. Right clicking on the icon only provides the capability to "move" "minimuze" or "close." Maximize is grayed out and so is "restore."
I'd like to use the software I purchased to edit my videos and use some of the other features of Quick Time Pro.
What could be the issue? HELP.
    Bill N. in Sarasota, Florida

That sounds a bit like a blown-out QuickTime preference file, Bill.
First we'll try rebuilding the QuickTime.qtp file, to see if that helps with the launch.
Quit QuickTime if the button is currently showing in your Taskbar.
We'll now have to set you up to view hidden files and folders.
    (1) Quit Safari if you have it open
    (2) Go Start > Open.
    (3) In the Organize menu, click Folder and Search Options.
    (4) Click the View tab.
    (5) Make sure that Show hidden files and folders is selected.
    (6) Click OK.
Now look for a QuickTime folder in one of the following two locations (where "UserAccountName" is the name of the user account in which QuickTime isn't launching correctly):
    C:\Users\UserAccountName\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\QuickTime\
    ... or:
    C:\Users\UserAccountName\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\QuickTime\
Drag the entire QuickTime folder out onto your Desktop.
Now launch the QuickTime Player again. (This should rebuild the folder and contained preference files.)
Does the Player launch properly this time? Or do you still get the same trouble?
