Cannot place Skype calls

I installed the iPhone app and signed in, no problem. All my contacts show. I am online, reading emails, surfing Safari. I try to make a Skype call, and get this error message: "You must go online to make this call." But I AM online! I try again. Same error message. I don't have this trouble at all on my PC.

when you go to the skype app on the right bottom corner go to the tab called my info and check your status it might be stuck on offline

    Unable to place a call to One of my Favorites contact, this seems to have happened while I was trying to download special ringtone from ITunes. I think it is blocking the call to contact. How do I fix this?

    Also, because the issue seems to be isolated to one contact, you may want to make sure the phone number is correctly formatted (i.e. in the US, following the 10-11 digit format). You can also confirm that the phone number is in the correct field in the contact card.

  • Cannot video skype call

    From time to time I cannot seem to call someone overseas - it will say 'connecting' and no ring tone will be heard and next thing you know it cuts the call and says 'call dropped' or 'cannot reach contact'
    The person on the opposite end tells me their internet connection is fine, and when they call me it gets through... 
    I can call people who live in the same country well. 
    What is going on???

    Please give me the Product # for the notebook that's having the issue.

  • I cannot receive skype calls on my landline

    skype calls are bing blocked from my landline. when i call my home landline number from skype i (and everyone else who is calling me) get a recording saying that my phone does not accpet blocked calls and that I should dial *82. CenturyLink (my carrier) is telling me this is a Skype problem.

    I just installed facebook on my mac book.  I have all the system requirements to run facetime.  I can dial an iphone and ipad, but when my callers acknowledge, facetime just keeps ringing on my mac, while my callers report that their apps says it is trying to connect (but it never connects.)

  • HT4515 Just tried to place a call on my new iPhone5S.     I can hear the person I'm calling, they cannot hear me.    The microphone icon has a line through it, but tapping the icon does not make a difference.

    Just tried to place a call with my new iPhone.  I can hear the person I'm calling but they cannot hear me.     There is a line across the microphone icon, which I took to mean muted but nothing changes when I tap it.    What am I doing - or not doing?

    is your mute switch turned on (above the volume) ?  remove case and screen protecter.
    is volume turned up?

  • Cannot place calls after 2.2 update

    Today I downloaded and installed the iTunes update, then did the iPhone 2.2 update. Now I cannot place calls with my phone. I can receive calls and all other functions work ok.
    I powered off and restarted the phone. No luck.
    I reset the phone. No luck.
    I went to AT&T and had my SIM card replaced. No luck.
    I restored the phone to factory settings. No luck.
    I restored the phone from my last backup. No luck.
    Any suggestions?

    When I press the green Call button it immediately says the call failed.
    AT&T verified that my account was in good standing and had no billing/administrative issues. They then replaced my SIM card. Honestly, I didn't trust the AT&T store to do tech-support on the iPhone. Since there was an Apple store about 100 yards away, I went there next.
    At the Genius Bar, the man said that there had been some "voltage issues" from updating via a laptop. He said that I should restore it to factory settings, then try again, but this time from a desktop. I tried that, but still, no luck.
    It seems odd that I can receive calls, but not place them.

    Have you gone into settings > store > then tap on your apple iTunes I D and change all the bank details  from your friends account to your account ?

  • Cannot Place Call Using Keypad

    When I dial a number using the keypad and press the green Call button, nothing happens. I have to cancel the call, go to Recents, and press the entry at the top of the list to place the call again, then the call will go through. This happens 100% of the time on my iPhone 4S.

    I am having the identical issue. I have uninstalled and re-installed the latest Skype, but ALL internet calls fail immediately after starting. It is driving me mad and I have been working on the issue for weeks. The strange thing is if I Skype from one Skype account to a different Skype account on my cell phone it DOES work when we are both on my WiFi network. But all Internet calls disconnect with the "Call Failed" message. If Microsoft does not get this fixed I am going to have to use Whatsapp. At least it is working for me.

  • Suddenly cannot place or receive calls

    I have a Blackberry Curve 9330, with Verizon as a carrier.  For the last couple of days, I have not been able to place any calls.  When I attempt to do so, either the call does not complete, (call was lost), or if it does go through, I get a very rapid busy signal.  I have checked the carrier reception and it is strong.  I have checked the WiFi...it is receiving a strong signal.  I have spent hours trying to figure this out and have finally given up.  I have taken the battery and sim card out twice, also, hoping to repair whatever it is that has gone wrong. Can anyone give me some ideas?  Thanks

    I recommend that you attempt to boot into Safe Mode:
    KB17877 How to start a BlackBerry smartphone in Safe Mode
    It may take you multiple attempts to get the ESC key sequence (press/release/hold) correct, so be patient. When successfully into Safe Mode, then see what happens. If the behavior stops, then think carefully...what happened just before this behavior started? A new app? An update? A Theme? Something else? Think carefully as the smallest change could be causal...and attempt to undo whatever that was.
    If the behavior continues in Safe Mode, then you likely should seek formal support from VZW.
    PS -- on VZW (indeed, all CDMA carriers), the SIM is not relevant...you can operate your BB just fine on VZW with the SIM not even installed at all. Perhaps you should try that as well...

    I'm sorry, but we had made so many changes (the Advisor and I) and it was only after I shared y home screen with him that he had me disable my anti-virus firewall....and everything worked fine afterwards. We went through a number of steps including removing a number of neighbors wifi signals and most important was the changing of the wifi channels.If anyone is using an Anti-virus program, I would suggest that they disable the firewall and then see if their devices connect to the same wifi.

I had ordered PhoneValet to do that, but was told that although the program records calls, and can dial calls, it cannot be used to place a call and actually speak and have the person on the other end hear what I am saying.     Something like Skype perhaps?
    I do not use the product, and I think there are a few other programs that will allow you to do same. Google may be your friend on this one
