i am unable to play tv shows i downloaded, i was able to play downloaded shows before but for some reason it doesn't connect now. any suggestions? thanks

Cannot play purchased tv shows

I have been unable to play purchased TV shows on iTunes. iTunes software is the most current, and the TV show was puchased from iTunes. The software will present the first screen to view the show, but will not automatically start. If I press the start button, then it will immediatley go back to the pasued state. I can open and play all episodes directly with quicktime, so it does not appear that the file is corrupted in any way. It also seems that if I play a movie that did not come from iTunes, and then play the TV show once the movie has run for a few seconds, then I have 1 shot at getting the TV show to play.This is happening on iTunes version 10.5.3 (3) and on the previous version as well.

After being more though and reading a few other posts, I have identified the problem. The downloaded shows are HD, and I was trying to play them on my 30" Cinema Display. And it seems that is not possibe. That is annoying. I hope apple finds a way to get my apple cinema display to talk to my apple computer.
Problem solved. Now I am greatly annoyed.

Cannot play downloaded iTunes HD movies

Hello,
I initially had an issue downloading movies on my PC from iTunes in HD. I seemed to have taken care of that bug, now I cannot play any of my downloaded HD movies and wanted to know how to fix this. I never had a problem before but this seems to be an intermittent issue. Sometimes it works but most of the time it does not.
I do get a pop up window saying that my machine cannot play HD movies and that I should download in SD instead....this does not make any sense seeing that I was able to do this prior to a couple of the last iTunes software updates.
Can anyone help?

I restored my nVidia 8800GT graphics card and was able to watch the HD content purchased from iTunes, again. So, it should be able to do the same.
If your plan is to install both video cards on your system, there might be a problem. If iTunes senses that there is a video card that implements the HD encryption standard, it will restrict HD output to that video card.

BlackBerry World - Cannot play downloaded song

Itunes 11 cannot play purchased TV shows or Movies

I recently upgraded my PC to itunes 11. Since the upgrade, I have been unable to play any purchased TV shows or Movies in itunes. I use Home Share, and the videos will play on my iPad and iPhone, but will not play on my PC. The video screen opens to a black screen, and the times shows it is playing, but the screen stays black, with no audio.
What I have tried:
1. Rebooted several times, and restarted iTunes
2. Ensured there were no updates pending
3. In Quicktime, set video to Safe (GUI) -No change
4. In iTunes, deauthorized and reauthorized my account.
Really a pain, and now I am holding off on upgrading other devices until I can make sure that this is resolved. This is exactly why Apple needs to remove restrictions on their files, as all of my other Movies and TV shows that were no purchased from Apply play fine.

I did not feel comfortable deleting the files, so I renamed the SC Info folder to oldSC Info, and then rebooted. Once I went back into iTunes and played a TV Show, it asked me to autorize again, and then everything worked great.

Cannot play downloaded audiobook

Randomly when I download an audiobook from the iTunes store and have it on my iPod, it will show up on the menu and when I want to play it, it will show for 1 - 2 seconds, go to the next and keep skipping past this book to the next selection. I can I prevent or cure this?

Cannot play purchased TV show

I have an imac with an external hardrive where all of my itunes content is stored. I purchased a tv show a few nights ago and watched it. I tried to watch it again today and i receieved a message saying that "the original file cannot be found. Would you like to find it?" I said yes and it took me to the TV Shows folder on my external HD but the show was not there. I checked my purchases through itunes and it indicates that all purchased items are on my computer. I searched for the show using the spotlight and could not find it. Any thoughts on where this show might be? Is it possible that itunes is configured to only play this show once? Any help would be much appreciated.

I am unable to play and have paid.the screen comes up but the play button doesn't work. Did you get that far?

Cannot play youtube - it shows black view screen.

I have problem in playing youtube videos recently.
I showed black screen when I click on the video to play (I have inserted the image to show what I mean).
I really don't know why and how to fix it.
Searched information and was suggested to uninstall flash but don't know how to do that and not sure if that will solve the problem.
Help, please.

If you can't install or update Flash, follow these instructions.
If you have installed the latest version of Flash, please take each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. After each step, relaunch Safari and test. For a "missing plug-in" error, start with Step 8. Back up all data before making any changes.
Step 1
You might have to log out or restart the computer before a Flash update takes effect.
Step 2
From the Safari menu bar, select
          Safari ▹ Preferences... ▹ Privacy ▹ Remove All Website Data...
and confirm. Close the window. Then select
           ▹ System Preferences… ▹ Flash Player ▹ Advanced ▹ Delete All...

If you get a "missing plug-in" error, select

Cannot play a TV show on TV or ipod.

Hi,
I have purchased a HD TV Show episode from iTunes store canada. It plays on my itunes. But whenever I hook up my MacBook to my Sony LCD TV it says that the display is not authorized. In addition, I tried putting it on my iPod Video and play it from there but it kept on not playing.
Any idea whats going on?
Note: This is the first time I have ever purchased a video file from itunes.

Depends on the inputs of your TV - DVI or HDMI? (Plus you do need an additional audio cable in either case)
regarding your refusing iPod - have you got the most recent firmware on your iPod?

Have recently purchased new music for a new Ipod, when I double click the song in Itunes to play it is asking me to authorise the IPod. Having entered my username and password it states that it has been correctly authorised however i then get a message saying 'could not complete music store request.An unknown error occures (-208).Error in Music Store. Please try again later.'
Is this due to the high volume of users because its Xmas Day?

Seems like the music never completly downloaded. Try redownloading on computer and sync.

I recently bought an ipod game form the itunes web site, it was successfully downloaded to my itunes downloads, but I can not figure out how to sinc it over to my ipod. Normally you can drag new songs to your playlists but this one has got me stuck.. Can you help?

What model iPod do you have? Games can only be played on the 5th gen iPod (iPod video).
I ask because you are posting in the forum for older iPods which do not support games from iTunes.

I have songs downloaded to my iPad. for some reason these songs will not play. The songs were downloaded from iTunes. I have removed and re-added these tunes and the results are the same. Please advise...

If you selected the songs in iTunes and tried to copy/paste that will not work.
Drag the songs from the iTunes window to the player.

Cannot play/download songs from iCloud to iTunes

I just purchased a new MacBook. When I sign into iTunes with my apple id, all of my songs appear, however I am not able to play them or download them from iCloud. The iCloud icons and all text are all light gray, as opposed to their usual bold gray color.

in case anyone else has this problem I wanted to update with the solution. For clarity, this problem had nothing to do with iTunes Match. I just was unable to play or download any music. All I did was quit iTunes and Restart my computer and then all of my music was there and all is working fine.

The Showing Results pane appears.3) Click on any track in the pane in the middle of the screen. Nothing happens and the same song continues to play. Expected Behavior:The track that was clicked on should play. You CAN queue music to play from that list, but I would expect that clicking on any song in the list would play that song immediately. If so, why wouldn't they publish an update to the player? I mean the one "Please restart Spotify to install the new version"? Going to try and reinstall, hopefully it fixes both this and the ugly new color they have chosen.. Well, hopefully a reinstall solves one of those ;) haha Confirmed!This did the trick! I also discovered - THANK YOU SPOTIFY!! - the option to minimize to taskbar instead of closing when clicking on the X button :D AWESOME! If only the color was different on the icon :'( But at least the music plays :D
