Cannot play video on ipad 2 since upgrade to ios 6

Cannot play any video since upgrade to ios 6 on ipad 2!  Anyone else having this problem?

Yes!  Immediately after upgrading our iPhones and iPads to iOS6, they lost the capability to play back CCTV camera streams both on network and 3/4G.  Our customers are experiening this issue as well.
I held back from upgrading one of my iPads and all is normal with it.
I am a Savant AV dealer and this is quite troubling especially since the issue has very little buzz.
Has anyone heard from Apple regarding a fix?
Thanks,
Phil

  • Cannot play videos in iPhoto since SL upgrade

Since I upgraded to SL, it appears that I cannot play videos that I have loaded to iPhoto. I go into an event in iPhoto in which I have some digital camera videos and they do not play. These used to open in QuickTime and run fine. When I click on the video and choose "Show File", it will show me where the file lives. These are fine on my computer and can now run them from here, but it used to work right in iPhoto. Has anybody had this happen to them? Is it a bug with SL or is there a new setting or something I am missing? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, it's a bug. Have you applied the Mac OS X v10.6.1 Update? If not do so and try again. If that doesn't work all we can do is report the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier versions) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger or later), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. There are versions that are compatible with iPhoto 5, 6, 7 and 8 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. Just put the application in the Dock and click on it whenever you want to backup the dB file. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.
NOTE: The new rebuild option in iPhoto 09 (v. 8.0.2), Rebuild the iPhoto Library Database from automatic backup" makes this tip obsolete.

  • Iphone Games low res on iPad since upgrading to IOS 5

    Hi All,
I noticed something very weird on my iPad 2 since upgrading to IOS 5. I have several iPhone games that I play on a regular basis and just up size them for the iPad. On IOS 4 when I started them up they intially started up in a low resolution mode but within 10 seconds or so switched to what I think was "retina display" resolution which looked WAY WAY better on the iPad. Since upgrading to IOS 5 they no longer do this. They stay in low resolution mode and look fairly bad now. I am so disappointed. Is anyone else seeing this?

I'm seeing this same exact issue.
I started up one of my games and it defaulted to 1x post updating to iOS 5.  When I expand it to 2x, the game looks horrible to the point where the text is almost unreadable.  While it had some pixelation prior to this, it was no where nearly as bad as it is now.
I've been looking through Settings and so far, I've not found anything to fix this issue.  I can handle a game looking a little "off" due to the display size difference.  I can't handle it looking like it's running in 8 bit mode though.  For the money I've spent on this iPad, I am not please by this at all.

  • There is no sound on my iPad  since upgrading to iOS 8.0.2.  I have turned it on and off, and nothing helps.  Any solutions?

    Dear friends of Apple,
Since upgrading to my iPad Air to iOS 8.0.2., there is no sound coming at all--not even the lock sounds, or keyboard sounds.  I cannot hear any music from iTunes, podcasts....nada.  I have turned it on and off, and nothing helps.   I might have clicked something or other, but anyone have any ideas where I might look for a solution.?
    Thanks,
    Gary

Try reseting your Ipad. Press and hold on both the Home and Sleep/Wake buttons until the Apple logo appears.

  • Cannot play videos on iPad posted to FB, but will play on iPhone

All videos on FB say cannot be played on my iPad2 need flash player, but I can view them on my iPhone is a setting wrong on FB or iPad?

Close all of your apps and reset your iPad.
In order to close apps in iOS 5 or iOS 6, first tap the home button once. Then tap the home button twice and the recents tray will appear at the bottom of the screen. Tap and hold down on any app icon until it begins to wiggle. Tap the minus (-) sign in the upper left corner of the app that you want to close. Tap the home button twice.
Closing apps in iOS 7 works like this. Drag the app up from the multitasking display. Double tap the home button and you will see apps lined up going left to right across the screen. Swipe to get to the app that you want to close and then swipe "up" on the app preview thumbnail to close it.
Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Cannot play video in Safari after upgrading to QT7.5

The video frame just shows a Big Q with a Big ?.
    Can anybody help please?
    Thanks a lot!

I'm running Tiger, and it has happened to me, so it probably isn't the OS 10.5.3(?) update.
I updated the quicktime software, and then started to notice the same problems. I didn't have EVERY multimedia icon appear as a 'Q' or '?', BUT I did see many, many more than normal. I saw it in Firefox, and Opera, too.
Now, here is where it gets strange. When I hit the reload button, more and more of the 'Q'/'?' icons changed to what they were intended to be, with more of the intended icons appearing after each reload of the same web page.
But, after I deleted the Safari and/or Firefox cache, history, and cookies, the same 'Q'/'?' icons appeared. Again, after clicking the reload button the intended icons would come back, one or two with each successive reload.
Then, I remembered I had Opera installed, so, I deleted the history, cache, and cookies of EVERY browser on my machine, and closed all applications.
Finally, I ran a program that checks scripts, cleans up the system, etc. (Disc Utility may be fine, but I used one of the maintenance/cleaning programs available in 'Downloads' on this site - if you can't see the icon it's the 6th icon on the top of this page, counting left to right.)
Everything seems to be working alright, now. Sometimes repairing scripts or permissions, or deleting application caches seems to help purge whatever programming overlaps, or bugs or whatever ghosts slip into my computer at night. Good luck, and I hope you don't have to do a clean install.

  • I cannot place or receive calls since upgrading to ios 6.

Sprint is my carrier.  I upgraded 2 iphone 4s and neither one will place or receive calls.

I found the solution posted by cocomarie.
Dial ##update# and push talk. It will give you a message that it is updating something then when it's complete the phone will work.

  • Can't play manually added videos since upgrading to IOS 8

Since upgrading to IOS 8, my iPhone 5 won't play any videos that I copy to the device manually through iTunes.
These are videos that I've played on the iPhone before, so I know they are compatible and of the correct format.
Basically what is happening is that I can copy them across and they show as being on the device, yet when I eject the iPhone and open the Videos app, the video player immediately presents the message 'Cannot play video make sure you are connected to a wi-fi network'
When I reconnect the iPhone to iTunes, the videos still show as being on the device, but they all have a small exclamation mark next to them.
Has anyone else seen this behaviour?
EDIT: I have just discovered that if I add the videos to my iTunes library first, then sync them to the iPhone, they play normally. However, I do not want to have to keep adding any video I want to play into iTunes first, I'd rather just copy them straight off my external HDD as I used too before.

I have this problem too, but even adding first the video to iTunes isn't working. The videos I'm trying to add to my iPad are in my iTunes library and were in my iPad before the iOS8 upgrade (and played normally), but since the upgrade, none of them work. When transferred to the iPad in the video app show no content, and viewing the iPad content from iTunes just shows the video title in gray with the exclamation mark.
    Waiting for help too.

  • "Cannot play video - The Connected display is not supported" error message using Netflix 5.0.2 on my iPad

I'm running iOS 7.0.3 on my iPhone 4S and iPad (3rd gen) and have just upgraded to the current version of the Neflix app available in the Canadian App Store (5.0.2).
Although all other apps I've tried (e.g. Podcast, VLC) are able to properly output video & audio directly to my TV using the HDMI adapter (i.e. NOT via an Apple TV), the Netflix app pops up the error message "Cannot play video - The connected display is not supported".  If I start a video and then plug the HDMI cable in, it will play for a few seconds and then halt with the same error message.
Netflix & Apple were supposed to have been working together to fix the previous issue with this scenario which was causing audio to be output but no video.  The current Netflix app update was released yesterday and seems to have taken a step backward.
When I contacted Netflix support, they indicated that they have done whatever can be done from their side and this is now Apple's issue.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks!
    Kiron

    Hello all,
I have an iPad 2 16GB with iOS 7.0.3 and Netflix version 5.0.2. I cannot watch netflix on an External LCD monitor that I have through VGA out. I use bluetooth speakers, so the AirPlay is going to that for Audio. Before this update, this combo worked without an issue.
So as of Friday Nov. 8/2013, I contacted Netflix support, and they said they fixed the problem on their end, and the fix is on the Apple side of things, and to contact Apple support.
So, I contacted Apple support, and the first person I spoke to said I would have to agree to pay a $35 fee for 30 days of support to this problem since my unit is out of warranty. I said this isn't a hardware issue, it's a software issue, and I'm not willing to pay to fix a problem you created. So I got a Senior Level advisor on the line, and she was helpful, and she's looking into the issue for me and said she'll contact me sometime on Tuesday or Wednesday (Nov. 12 or 13) to let me know of the issue.
Here's the thing: this is a combination of Netflix and iOS not working correctly with any of the Apple Authorized Dongles. This is truly a code error that some hot shot programmer had major oversight on, and their management didn't catch it either. There was no reason for Netflix to rush to get this Netflix update going until Apple sorted out the bugs in iOS 7.
Anyway, if I hear anything from Donna (the advisor), I'll post it and let you guys know. In the mean time, good luck!

  • TS5148 When I try to play a movie on Netflix from my IPad, I get a pop up saying: Cannot play video. "The connected display is not supported".

When I try to play a movie on Netflix from my IPad, I get a pop up saying: Cannot play video. "The connected display is not supported".  I have updated my Apple TV, tried restarting it, and have tried using my IPod Touch all without any luck. This display has worked in the past. This just happen a couple days ago.
    Any ideas out there?

I have been successfully using my Apple TV with my iPad2 to access Netflix through airplay (mirroring) and suddenly it won't work.  It says "the connected display is not supported"  What's up?
Also when I try to stream Netflix through my Apple TV menu on my television it says "An error occurred loading this content.  Try again later.  But trying again later doesn't work any better.
Now the only way I can watch Netflix is using my small iPad screen.  It appears the problem is with streaming Netflix through my Apple TV

  • I recently upgrade to an iPAD Air. I gave my old iPAD (1st gen) to my wife.  I restored it to original factory conditions.  Now we cannot install iBook on it since it requires iOS 7.  What can we do with older iPADS that are still 100% functional.

Look at this similar problem in getting Netflix on an iPad 1. Same technique should work for you.

  • Since upgrading to iOS 6, I cannot save or transfer photos to iPad or iPhone. Is it a glitch with the upgrade?

Since upgrading to iOS 6, I cannot save photos to my iPhone or iPad or transfer pictures taken. Is it a glitch with the upgrade?

Can you be a little more specific? Do you mean that when you take photos with your iPhone camera or iPad camera they are not showing up in the photo stream? Do you mean that you are trying to sync your photos to a computer and that they are not syncing? Just not sure what you are asking?
