Cannot post - Apple Discussion temporarily not available

Hi
I have been trying to post a message since about a week ago. I keep getting the message that Apple Discussion is temporarily not available and to visit Apple Support.
But, I noticed there are messages being posted by others during this period. I am posting from Asia. Is this problem in Asia only ..??
Appreciate some heads up to what I can do to resolve this issue.

If this was happening to me, I would try the Open DNS numbers.
So go up to the Apple icon on the top left corner of your screen.
Double click and move your cursor down to "System Preferences."
Then go down to "Network."
Click on Advanced button down in the lower right.
In the resulting box, click on the top menu > DNS.
Then, write down the two (probably) addresses in the left pane (DNS Servers).
(This is in case this doesn't work, and you can simply put the old ones back in easily)
Then erase those old numbers and replace with 208.67.222.222 (top one)
and 208.67.220.220 (lower one). The order is just to make things clearer to you.
It really doesn't matter.
Then when the new numbers are in there, go down to the lower right corner of that pane,
and click the OK button.
Restart Safari, and test again.

I cannot sign into iTunes with my PC since downloading update. The store loads, but I cannot sign in. The message says: Itunes is temporarily not available. Please try again later. I have windows 7 pro, 64 bit, an authorized computer, and downloaded the latest iTunes update. Been at least four days now....
So far, Apple support has responded once and had me uninstall everything, literally everything, pertaining to Apple, including QuickTime. Then, reinstall iTunes. They did not mention reinstalling QuickTime, but I now have done that too since nothing improved otherwise. Still cannot sign into my account for the store. Am waiting for the latest Apple support response, but would appreciate hearing from anyone who has this problem and found a way out of it.
Someone suggested that I try to authorize my computer even though it is already authorized because that worked for them, but that did not work for me--Still cannot sign into my account in order to complete the so-called authorization.
I wonder what is next after I can finally sign on--iPhone, iPad, iPods recognition and/or synch problems...? I cringe.

Payment Processing Temporarily not available, try again later.

Hey Guys,
I might have a solution for the folks who are getting the error "Payment Processing Temporarily not available, try again later".
If you have an active credit card and trying to purchase/register in the iTunes store this error pops up. On contacting support, they will tell you to check with the bank and they will also suggest an alternative solution for this(purchasing an iTunes Gift Card).
My Perspective on the Problem:
The bank or the service which Apple is using to process your card is not a 24hrs service. I am not aware if the same problem is being faced in US, Canada & UK. But seeing the previous discussions on this error, most of the Apple users in India and other countries are facing this. I reside in India and I have faced this problem.
My Proposed Solution:
Try registering your card after 9.30am GMT. I was trying to register my card all day long and as soon it was 3am IST, my card got processed and I was able to make purchase on iTunes. So, 3am IST is 9.30am GMT. 9.30am GMT must be the opening time for the day at the bank/service which apple uses to bill users. So, 8 hrs from 9.30am GMT should be the time you should try to use your card on iTunes.
Apple should take care of this.

I had this happen earlier this week - thought perhaps it was a Netflix problem.when it contined the next day, I looked for a reset button - there isn't one. So, I just pulled one of the plugs out from the back of the Apple TV, waited a second and plugged it back in. Worked like a charm and could now watch my movie.

I called Apple and they said it is a problem at my end. Can someone else try logging in to

Sounds like you just purchased a hacked iPhone & Apple's servers have detected such. If not an "authorized" iPhone store, return the phone for a refund.
Apple's activation servers are running just fine.

When I went to change it it said that the email was not available. I have never used this email before for apple. Can someone please help me?

If you have on your previous Apple ID a rescue email address and that email address is what you are using to create a new one, then it will not let you use it. See if you can log in to your Apple ID and remove that email address. Check out the article below for more information.

Apple itunes store not available

When I try to order a movie, it keeps saying apple itunes store not available. I can watch netflix, itunes radio works, geinus does not work, just can not order movies. I can preview them just can't order movies. It get stuck when I try to sign in to itunes. The screen get stuck and I have to unplug and plug back in to clear screen. HELP

Found that my ATT Uverse router's Firewall was set up to block Applications, Pinholes and DMZ Had been activated. Once I added the Apple TV to the list, for all programs, it started working. In all probability AT&T and/or Apple software updates probably created the issue.

What does the Service temporarily not available mean

I just create the new domain with delegate administrator and none of the users in this domain are able to login to the server, all my users keep recieving Service temporarily not available

Have you enabled the domain for calendar, mail?
e.g.
commadmin domain modify -S mail -S cal -H <default mail host>
login id: <admin user>
login password: <admin password>
dns domain name: <domain>

Every single app on my Apple TV says "not available. Try again later" was watching it about 2-3 hours ago and it was working perfectly fine.

Every single app including the iTunes Store says "not available. Try again later" my Apple TV worked perfectly fine 2-3 hours ago. I've tried updating and it won't do that either. I've tried turning it off and it still didn't work.

Apple Discussion Stylesheets not loading

Greetings everyone,
I was away for some time and just came back to see a whole new Apple Discussions! Way to go team, this new one has a lot of promises.
However one thing, whenever I visit here, the stylesheets don't seem to load! Also I can't get the images to load as well, I mean the images at the top of the page with the Apple navigation are OK, but nothing else...guess, I'll print a pdf and upload it somewhere...
Anyway, when I view the activity screen, it shows a "forbidden" infront of the css link...
I'm using Safari, Mac OS X 10.4.2...

Can you tell us if you are running any ad blocker facility like Privoxy or using /etc/hosts to block akamai.com ? Also, tell us if you are connected through a VPN server or other secure connection.

Cannot start PC: Optimized dst not available

Hi everyone,
I have a HP pavilion dm4. It works perfectly yesterday and tonight, it does not want to start.
I've launched the startup test and run-in test and the last failed. I've got the following error:
Memory Test: Passed
Smart check Passed
Short dst: passed
Optimized dst: not available
Failure id: 9SMUG4-0007k1-XD6U3G-C0EB03
Can someone tells me what it means ?

You can try to boot the unit in last known good configuration mode by choosing from the Advanced boot options by tapping F8 on boot. If that does not work then you might have to reinstall the operating system using the HP restore discs.

HT201210 Iphone 4s stuck in recovery mode and wont restore , keep getting apple update server not available try later but I have and it keeps saying the same thing, all i did to get in this mess was try to update tyhe phone software , so this is an APPLE

Ive changed the DNS server on my pc, tried R,ec boot Tiny umbrella , had to use Total saver to recover my photos etc , but no idea how to change my iphone from a paperwight back into a phone, it just keeps saying the apple update server is unavailable.
Its a normal phone nothing done to it , was just updating the software when it went into recovery mode.
Ive pressed start and home buttons togerther , switched the phone off and on , switched the pc of and on and made sure i have the most recent version of itunes.
What next any ideas, thanks?

Actually I was stuck with this situation yesterday. Here is what I did to overcome this issue: I hope it helps.
To start with, here are few things to you should make sure of:
1- You have the latest version of iTunes. You may try to uninstall and reinstall iTunes.
2-Restart your Windows.
If still no luck, try editing the Hosts file, here is how;
1- click on RUN then copy and paste the following:
notepad c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
2- look for gs.apple.com
3- if there are numbers infront of it just delete them or just type # before the numbers.
4- Save the file and try restoring again.
Note: you should have administror access to edit the Hostes file.
put your iphone in DFU mode before restoring.

Umm, because it's temporarily unavailable, I guess.
How long have you waited before trying again?
By the way, four seconds isn't long enough! Whatever the issue is, it may take a few hours to resolve.
