Cannot Precalculate workbook. Precalculation in thread 1 failed

Dear Experts,
I have an issue in Infomation Broadcasting. I have scheduled an job to distribute the workbook. In sm37, he job status has been Finished. but no emails have been triggered. I checked in RSRD_LOG and i am able to see the following message.
I am not clear about the error message.
Precalculation server was started
*Connection passed
Load workbook 46KNKDJOMMFLDSKW033LMFKLKJ
Start precalculation against RFC server USSTUBWP9V
Connection passed
Precalclulation in thread 1failed.
Cannot precalculate workbook YEAR_END_SALES_REPORT
Could any one help to fiox this issue?

Hi Sree,
Check the status of the PreCalc server in RSPRECADMIN.
If it's in yellow status try to restart it.
Also check if there isn't any old jobs stuck in the queue:
You can do this by right-clicking on the Precalc server and going to "Display Current Queue".
There's also a How To guide on troubleshooting Workbook Precalculation Problems.
Try searching for it on SDN.

Workbook precalculation service for 2004s

Anyone have a link to Workbook precalculation service for 2004s download. I found a link in SAP Marketplace for BW 3.5 but not for BI. Is there a separate download for BI or can I use the one for BW 3.5?

Thanks for pointing to the correct version of Services.
I tried with the latest version of Services but nothing changed except the error message.
The error message while running from IB I get the error message, Precalculation failed: E The process cannot access the file "C:\WINDOWS\TEM
Cannot precalculate workbook ZNW20004S_PRECALC
and
While running the same from IBTCODE 'RSPRECADMIN' , I receive the document but its an empty document.
Any clue, whats wrong ?

Need Adobe help to solve this. My own searches in Forums and Google all have failed.

It is not an Adobe problem. You have a OS permissions problem. You can try to correct this by using Disk Utility to Repair Permissions. It is in the First Aid area of Disk Utility.

BW7.0 workbooks precalculation without Portal installation

Hi all,
I am using BW7.0 without Portal installation.
As far as I know broadcasting cannot be used without portal installation for bw7.0 workbook.(If I am wrong,please correct me)
Can anyone help to suggest how can I realize BW 7.0 workbook precalculation without portal.

There are two ways
1.distributing workbook via email (I think you are looking for this option)
2. to portal
You need precalucation server set up for the same .But i'm not sure whether we need portal for the same ,There is very good Howto on the same. Request you to go through it.

Cannot find class java/lang/Thread

I'm getting this error trying to compile a program that I'm writing in java. Its a very simple program just to get me back to basics. Any ideas as to how I can fix this problem??

Cannot Delete Adobe Reader 9 Installer after failed download

I tried to download Adobe Reader 9 and the installation froze around 83%. After multiple attempts I tried downloading an older version (Adobe 8) and it worked but the installation folder for Adobe 9 is still on my desktop and it will not let me delete it. I have already tried using the Windows Install cleanup tool but it did not work. Any other ideas on how I can get rid of this installation program?

Thanks.. I managed to find a way to make it work.. I had no Adobe Reader in my list of programs when I went to Start | Control Panel | Add/Remove.. I took a chance and deleted Acrobat.com.. that allowed me to reload the latest v of Reader. I hope it didn't mess anything else up.

I had same situation. Was able to delete by the following: (don't know why)
In Windows Explorer dragged the Adobe AIR folder from Desktop to another folder (which
removed it from the desk top display). Then just deleted it from the other folder.

Install Workbook Precalculation Service

Hello,
I am trying to install the workbook precalculation service locally on my PC, but did not succeed up to now.
I have installed the following on my PC:
- Microsoft .Net Framework 1.1
- SAP Gui 6.40 (with extra patches)
- BW Workbook Precalculation Service (downloaded via the SAP Marketplace)
Allready installed:
- Windows XP
- Microsoft Excel 2000
After these installations I created a 'precalculation server' via transaction rsprecadmin.
Then I tried to start the service, but it was only started and then immediately stopped afterwards.
So although all installations seem to be done successfully, I did not succeed in starting this feature.
Could anyone give me any idea what I might do to get it right?

Hi Jan,
Sorry to not have been of help so far. If I understand correctly, the actual service on your PC is the source of the issue(?) If that's the case, and if the service dies soon after you start it, you may need to check that the UserID is OK to start services. Otherwise, you may just need to reinstall the program.
If the error is on the SAP side, you may want to confirm the SM59 connection - PREC_TH_PRECALC I think - to test communications.
Otherwise, this sounds like an issue for SAP Support!

this bug report is the only full hit in Google. They claim it's fixed, what JDK version are you running? If less than 1.4.2_06 you should either upgrade or not use NIO for serious work.

BEx Error: Cannot find workbook on server

In the BI Production system, I am getting the following error "Cannot find workbook on server" when I try to create and save a new workbook. BI Development seems to be working fine. Could you tell me why this is happening, and how I can fix this?

Cannot install 10.5 - just say's failed - no error msg w/Vista

Cannot install Itunes 10.5 - just says failed - w/Vista - no other reason given

My macbook failed too.
After updating it didnt reboot. I waited for a very long time. In the end I had to force reboot it.
It booted normaly and stopped at the login screen. (Normal on this machine)
When I log in to any of the accounts it starts the process by asking for my name and adress and stuff that usually happens when setting up the machine for the first time.
I knew this was wrong but tried to fill in the info anyway.
After doing that it just reverts back to the login screen.
I am now trying to update it using combo update trough remote desktop from a mac pro.
Crossing fingers here....
Update:
It worked. After updating trough remote desktop and rebooting I can log in to my accounts.
Close call.

I have a problem while executing.please,go through it
Start---BEx Analyzer--
Create new work book.While executing the work book,it is asking me to enter variable values.Once the variables are given and when start executing it, i am getting the ouput correctly and when i broadcast the same through email,in work precalculation tab, again it is asking me to enter variable values.I have done that and executed. But I am not able to receive any email.Infact,after taking 3 mnts it showing Timed out error.Kindly,suggest me with a solution to this. Where should I exactly enter variables?

First i thank q for ur reply to my question.But is it correct that we should assign Variables only in the Workbook Precalculation tab?Some one are suggesting like variables can be given both in foreground calculation i.e., while creating a workbook and also we should give the same variables in the workbook precalculation tab.But in one document, i found there is no variable assignment tab in the Broadcasting settings.It means they might have given variables in the workbook creation itself.

Thanks. However...these links are to basic troubleshooting. Good stuff, except I -- like it seems others -- have multiple email accounts coming into their iPhones (my case, iPhone 5 running latest version of iOS) that until this past Friday evening (September 12, 2014).... worked perfectly, then just all stopped.
In my case, I also lost access to an internet forum I frequent multiple times daily. All worked fine, until things abruptly stopped working the evening of September 12.
Seems like anything with a stored login/password got hosed.
I went into the profiles to make sure my passwords were still there (thought they may have somehow gotten wiped out), but they were there. I re-entered them just in case, no change.
Now just this morning, Sunday September 14, two emails from the same (employer) email account have trickled in. But nothing from the others (gmail, yahoo mail).
Spouse is having same issue on an iPhone 5.
