using old adobe reader worked and also if I save files to usb or send them to hubbys pc it will print so its not the files or my printer that is the issue -
thank you for your help in advance.

What Reader XI version are you using?  If less than 11.0.10, update to that version & try again.

  • Can't print to a 6540 HP printer shared by a Vista Home Premium PC

Hello, I have been trying to print from my MacBook to a printer shared by a Vista Home Premium PC but I just can't seem to make it right. I have been searching on the support discussion hoping to solve the problem but still, no luck. In the discussions that I read I followed some instructions but still no solution.
Firat I tried to add the printer using the windows printing option, I can see the computer the printer is shared on the network, but no printer, so I kept looking in the discussions and found that I should try someting else.
Then I read another, it said that I should try LPD printing, so I enabled it on the windows vista PC. I checked that both subnet masks and workgroups where the same, and they were. Then I tried to add it on my MacBook, but now the driver was not available on my Mac so I checked another discussion. The next discussion said that I should download some ghostscrip from http://www.linuxprinting.org/macosx/hpijs/ and to repair permissions and I did, then my hopes went really up, but still no luck
Can anyone really help me to solve this problem, I know there should be answer for this.

Sorry, I can't really tell what solved to issue finally but I can tell you what I did step by step:
First I enabled LDP in the Vista computer
Check the Vista computer ip using the ipconfig comman in cmd
Check the Vista computer Workgroup and check it on my mac, they were the same.
Download the ghostscript files and installed them so that the correct driver could be selected.
Go to the add printers and pressing the alt option key click on more printers.
    I chose the LDP thing
On name I wrote the printer name, very simple one
on the URL field I wrote the vista ip/printer name
I chose the exact same driver for the prnter.
Went to the vista computer again and opened the 515 port for TCP and UDP (I didn't know the difference so I did both)
Went to the router settings and opened the same port for TCP and UDP again.
    Then everything worked fine!

  • I cannot print adobe pdf documents as it is password protected. I forgot my password. How do I fix this problem?

I cannot print adobe pdf documents. Password protected. How do I fix this problem?

You'll need to remember it or recreate the PDF from the original file.
If there were an easy way to get around that, passwords wouldn't be worth much.

  • Windows 2008 windows service cannot launch Adobe Reader

I created a windows service that receives pdf files in one folder and should print them opening adobe reader. In my PC with Windows 7 it works just fine but when the application is deployed in Windows 2008 R2 server then the windows service is not able to
    launch Adobe Reader.
I searched on Internet and I found that it might be related to the Session 0 used by the services.
I tried multiple possible solutions without success.
Thank you in advance for any support with this issue

    Hi,
Are there any related error messages logged?
If not, I suggest you use Process Monitor to find out why exactly Windows cannot launch Adobe Reader.

  • I cannot download Adobe Reader app using my IPod Touch 4th Generation due to iOS upgrade.

I have an IPod Touch 4th Generation (the older model) and the highest operating system stops at iOS 6.1.6. Unfortunately, when I tried to download Adobe Reader app, it only works for the newer IPod Touch 5th Generation with an operating system of iOS 7.0 or higher. My question is that since I cannot download Adobe Reader app, is there a way for me to open PDF files on my IPod Touch by using Safari? There is no way I can find an Adobe Reader app that works for my operating system or an operating system that works for iOS 6.0 or lower. Is there another program similar to Adobe Reader where I can open PDF files that works for iOS 6.0 or lower?
    Thanks.

    Krispy2010,
Please note that my instructions are intended for Adobe Reader for iOS, not for all iOS apps in general.
Adobe Reader for iOS does offer earlier compatible versions for iOS 5 and 6 via the App Store.  Because the supported iOS version for Adobe Reader for iOS is 5 or later.
Tech specs | Adobe Reader mobile app
However, I cannot speak for other apps, such as Costco app and NFL app that you have mentioned.  It is up to each individual app developer/company to decide whether to take advantage of Apple's App Store's features to offer earlier versions.
Install the latest compatible version of an app on an earlier version of iOS or OS X - Apple Support
If a compatible version isn't available, you can try contacting the app developer. Look for contact information on the app's product page in the App Store or Mac App Store.

  • "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser" error in Windows 7 and Acrobat pro 8.1.7

I get the error "Cannot use adobe reader to view pdf in your web browser.  Reader will now exit.  Please exit your browser and try again" in Windows 7 x32 and Windows 7 x64 with Acrobat pro 8.1.7.  This happens when trying to open  a PDF file in Internet explorer 8.0.760 or when I open a PDF in Quickbooks 2008.  If I answer ok or cancel the file opens normally.  If I open acrobat 8 first then the pdf files open as expected.  I also tried a copy of Acrobat reader with no difference in the outcome.  Since this happens on two different computers one fresh copy of windows 7 x64 the other an upgrade to windows 7 x32 and they used to work before the change to windows 7, I assume there is some kind of incompatibility with windows 7 and acrobat.  Is this a known issue and will it be fixed in an update to acrobat in the near future?

tvandersluijs - I'm sorry if that screwed up your machine however:
    1. What version of Adobe Reader are you using because as you can see the registry entry is for Adobe Reader 9, if ur using Adobe Reader 8 then u need to specify ur version as PAllens entry suggested - "E.g. "C:\Program files\Adobe\Acrobat [version]\Reader\AcroRd32.exe""
    2. I've used this solution significantly because I have come across this specific issue for multiple users.
    3. All the registry entry does is tell Windows what program to use by default to open/view PDF documents.
My intention wasn't to screw up ur machine or anybody elses as I said I've used this solution many times however what I've should gave is the disclaimer to backup ur registry before u make mods so u can revert back in case. Also the ony other thing I can think of is that this solution was for Windows XP using registry editior 5, I'm noticing that the title of this thread is Windows 7.

  • Slow printing Adobe Reader XI

    Hi there!
Like so many others, I am having a difficult time printing Adobe Reader documents. I am running system 10.6.8 (not sure which cat that is), Adobe Reader XI and my printer is a HP LaserJet P2015dn. I ran Software Update, re-installed the driver from the HP website and updated to Reader XI. I'm not sure what else I can do and printing at five minutes per page is really frustrating.
    Thank you for any advice!!

First of all, why did you say yes to Nero Back up before researching what it does with files already on the HDD? When I install Nero, the Back Up is the first thing I disable, it is a nagging pain, there are much better backup programs available. There are several file recovery programs out there to recover deleted files, that is, if that is what happened. Also, if you haven't overwritten the files, so you should be able to find them.

When you say that you have the same problem, do you mean that you are:
    1. Not able to download Adobe Reader;
    2. cannot view a PDF file;
    3. or what?
Please be a little more descriptive of your particular problem or, better yet, start your own thread and clearly indicate which problem(s) you're having and what you have done, thus far, to correct the problem(s).
