Cannot print any documents

I just reinstalled OSX Tiger onto my MacBook, and now when I try to use my printer, it will either finish the print job without printing anything, or it will terminate "at signal 11". The printer worked fine before. I've updated the drivers and everything for it. Please help!

Tiger 10.4.11
HP Deskjet D2430

Is this from all Applications or just Adobe ones?

What is the full and exact message you are getting?
If the PDF contains Rich Media, the Flash Player plugin may be required: http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player.exe

I followed the FAQ troubleshooting and that didn't help

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

It may seem strange indeed, but yes, you have to ALSO install the older version 6 for Apple's system; other applications will use your Java (which I believe is now even 9) and others will use that version 6.

Since updating my virus checker I cannot print word documents. I can print all other documents

At this point my suggestion is to do a full uninstall of the old print driver and an install of the most recent version print driver which you can obtain at:

Please follow the uninstall procedure before installing the new driver.

Try one or more of the following:
> Restart Your Computer
> Uninstall and Reinstall iTunes
> Reset iPod (nothing will get deleted)
> Look in My Computer (Windows 98, XP) OR Computer (Windows Vista or 7) and see if your iPod is in there.
In some cases (and this happened to me before) plug your iPod in and out your computer a few times. It should get it going. If not, then I strongly recommend starting your computer.

I cannot print any adobe documents.

Whenever I try to print the document, a box pops up that says the document cannot be printed. Then it says that no pages were selected to print. But pages WERE selected to print. I selected them every way possible, even one at a time,and it will not print. It keeps saying that no pages were selected to print. My printer is a dell B1265dnf.

Could you please elaborate more on your problem? What error message do you get when you try to print from Adobe Reader?
Is this problem specific to a printer or is it that you are not able to print on any printer using Reader?
Is it document specific?

When trying to print any kind of document on my wife's Mac Pro, the File>Print Command will not work. She just downloaded an update to Microsoft Office and the problem began after that, but it also applies to other non-Microsoft Applications. However, the print function does work when you use the printer icon in any of the applications. She has OS X 6.8 and an HP Photosmart printer. Thank you for any thoughts.

Did your wife also apply the Feb. 2 Security Update 2012-01 v. 1.0 from Apple? That update contains a bug which disables printing and some other functions in applications that were originally written for the PowerPC processor and which require Rosetta to run on Intel Macs. Fortunately, yesterday Apple released v. 1.1 of the update, which resolves the problem. Run Software Update again to install the revised update.

When you installed Pages v5, it automatically moved the older Pages ’09 v4.3 into /Applications/iWork '09 folder. If you want normal comment interoperability, you are advised to resume using the older version of Pages. Newer, is certainly not better with Pages v5.

Cannot Print pdf document

A user on windows Vista is unable to print any pdf document. All other documents print to the printer. However, when pdf document is to be printed, it prompts for "Save As'. I have upgraded the version from Adobe reader 9 to 9.4.6 to version 10. No improvement. I checked for updates, still the same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe reader. Same problem. I gave user full rights to the Adobe folder under Programs folder. Same problem. However, when i log on as Administrator, I am able to print. Generally that means that the "print to file" box is selected in the print dialog menu. If so, deselect it and this will stop.

I would say download Adobe Reader. It is a free software and there should be a print button from there.
Otherwise if you right click when you have the document open in the standard Windows 8 reader, (Which I think is astoundingly called reader if I remember right) there should also be a print option there.

Cannot print Word documents

Hi - been having this problem for as long as I can recall! Occasionally I can get a document to print - I managed 2 days ago, but went to print off some word docs today and get the message 'word cannot print, there is no printer installed'
Yet when I go to 'devices and printers' the printer is there - with a great big green tick - the laptop also 'bongs' when I plug in the USB lead -meaning the printer has been found.
Various things i have tried:
I uninstalled the printer, then re-installed it again.
I tried it in a different USB slot
I turned the printer off and on again
Printer works fine on my desktop PC
Any wise words before I succome to temptation and chuck it against a wall lol!

I just bought a Macbook Air almost a month now. When I bought it, the technician installed Microsoft Office 365 as they were having a promotion at the time. However after a week of using it, it started popping up a notice saying that it cannot verify Microsoft Office. I still managed to open the word document but as of today, it will not open. I took it to the Mac store last week, and they said that there was nothing wrong with it and they could not figure out any problem.
I don't know what to do and I am in desperate need of help. I cannot open my documents at all and I have my research paper that I need to finish writing. This is very disappointing and extremely stressful for me. If anyone has any suggestions of how this can be fixed, please let me know. I do not want to lose my hard work =(

Microsoft Office 365 is a subscription - based service. You have to pay for it... and keep paying for it... and paying for it... as in 365 days a year... or lose your hard work.
Office Home Premium is a mere $10 a month, but a convenient annual subscription is only $100 a year. This is a substantial discount to Microsoft's Office 365 business products ($150 / employee / year).
Such a deal! Are you not absolutely thrilled?
