Cannot print document, no pages selected.

Greetings.
I have looked on the forums and found similar issues, however none are actually behaving like mine is.
Just want to verify that it is (or not) related to Acrobat.
We have a custom program that creates PDFs with the selections that we make, and open in IE 9.0 (distributed in a Citrix environment, mostly on WYSE terminals).
Up until recently, but I sadly cannot pinpoint the exact date, everything was working fine.
Now all of a sudden, we have these "FinalReports" that can't print. Viewing the final report in IE shows all the pages, exept that one is blank, and zoomed in as if the actual file was just a tiny square if viewed at 100%.
If all the pages are viewed individually, they are all fine.
Now this is the part where this gets interesting.
We have the option to reorganize the documents in the custom program. So closing the IE window with the FinalReport in it, we find the page that is blank in the program, move it up one, and Save/Print.
Viewing the FinalReport again, the page that was blank is now visible, and the following page is blank.
Repeating the process with the new blank page moves it to the next page and so on, until we get to the last page, at which point the blank just disappears and the whole report can then be printed.
When we have 5 or 10 pages in the document, it's not so bad, but when there are 50-100, it gets time consuming.
I'm hoping this all makes sense to any of you, and possibly could shed some light on this one as I am at a loss.
Thanks.
DD.

Hi Pat.
Yes, both of them lead to the very same error.
I have a workaround, kind of, where I preview the document and select all the pages that are correct (read showing on the pages preview) as included in the 1st screenshot.
As you can see in the first screenshot, the 5th page seems to be non-existandt, however as I try to preview it from the 3rdP software, it comes up just fine and from there I can print it individually... just annoying when you have 50 pages and 6 of then are randomly not showing up.
If I try to print the whole document, it simply gives me the 2nd, 3rd and 4th screenshots.
As for the 3rdP software, as stated in prior posts, it has been working flawlesly for the last 5 years, and has not been updated in any way, shape of form... As you said, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to look into that, however I don't believe the contract for the software maintenance is still in effect...
Thanks.

  • Cannot print document - No pages selected - Adobe Reader XI

Using Adobe Reader XI on a Windows 8.1 machine driving a Brother DCP-7055 printer via a network-linked Windows 7 machine to print 16-page document in Booklet format.  This worked well yesterday, but this morning, with no changes to the system, so far as I am aware, I get Cannot print document - no pages selected on both the W8.1 and W7 machines.  Same result trying to print ANY pdf from either machine.  The same pdfs print OK using alternative pdf software (Nitropdf) but I need the booklet format option. Any solutions?  Any suggestions.

That 'Protected Mode' causes so many troubles (hangs, crashes, limited functionality, ...) that I have been recommending to disable it for a long time in this forum.  I don't know if Adobe is aware of the problem; maybe someone should report it officially: https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
I personally have never experienced the problem; I have Protected Mode enabled on all my systems.  But there are so many reports in this forum every week that it's clear that something is wrong with it.

  • Printer will no longer print PDF document--"no pages selected" although specific pages were selected?

Brother printer will no longer print PDF document--"no pages selected" although I did specify pages.  Have reviewed and tried Adobe trouble shooting, not helpful.  Cannot print page as image.  Brother says to contact Adobe

There may be some security issues related to the USPS PDFs.

I can't help with the scan/print problem. You seem to have done everything I would try.
I don't know if maybe using a registry cleaner would help.

  • Won't print because no page selected

I tried to print, but messages comes back that document cannot be printed because no page selected. I have reloaded software but problem persists.

    thanks Macterral,
that's exactly what happened. I guess my illustration looked pro enough to be judged as studio work (GOOD! cuz that's my job anyways )
that's kinda flattering and nice that they are protecting artists... but yeah, i went with a different print service that was less hassle.
I wouldn't be so nitpikcy about this if they had mentioned something before submitting the prints re: copyright material - but rather than an explanation off the bat, i had to search for teh reason. It took a couple of days before they even told me the print was cancelled and another set of days for feedback from them to the reason why. By that time, i had already searched and ordered from a different service.
That's too bad, i would have liked using apple's service because iPhoto made it convenient... but turns out more of an inconvenience.

  • Cannot print document with added barcode text boxes

    G'day
I'm adding two text boxes to an illustrator document with Applescript, but when I go to print, ?I get an error 'Cannot print the illustration. The Color Management settings are inconsistent.'
The error message is not error trappable.
I have to barcode thousands of documents a year, and this is a big deal breaker. Is there any fix, please?

    G'day Owen, & W_J_T.
Unfortunately your suggestions did not work for me.
I've tried using the GUI to access the print dialog box, but as usual with Adobe, they've stuffed that up too. What I did find however, that the print dialog box recognised keystrokes, and always defaults to the Printer box when opening.
Also, the Printer box sets itself to a matching item of whatever key is pressed, and so does the Printer Preset box.
So, even tho I can't select any given box, provided I have a Printer Preset set, I can access it by the following (slower) method...
    activate
tell application "System Events" to tell process "Adobe Illustrator"
      keystroke "p" using command down
keystroke (character 1 of (my theLargePagePrinter as text)) as text
      repeat 17 times
      keystroke tab
tell current application to delay 0.1
      end repeat
keystroke (character 1 of (my theLargePagePrinter as text)) as text
      keystroke return
      end tell
Note that if you have more than one printer or Printer Preset starting with the same letter, then you'll have to use more than just the first character of your printer name.

  • HT1349 How do i print documents in pages, if I'm not using an AirPrint printer. But I'm using printer pro.

I was wondering if maybe an update for pages. So when we actually finish a document in pages and select print it would immediately print or have the open in option there already, so we can print via 3rd party apps like printer pro.? Maybe something we can look forward too.
    Thanks

    Hi indy-girl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see you are trying to print 6 3/4" envelopes from your HP Officejet Pro 8600, but keep getting an error 'printer that it is not set for the right size'. After taking a look at the Supported envelopes sizes, the 6 3/4 is not supported. See below:
I was able to take a look at the 8600, the only thing I am seeing listed on the paper tray is Legal/Letter, and the 4x6". I am not seeing the 6 3/4 size.
    I hope this helps!
    Thanks,

  • Cannot print a web page since recent update to Apple Snow Leopard

After recent update to Mac OS 10.6.4 I cannot print any page when using Firefox. I tried using Apple Safari and there was no problem
    == This happened ==
    Every time Firefox opened
== After recent update to Mac OS 10.6.4

This is a Firefox printing issue that I just fixed for my 85 year old Mom (birthday present). Other people have the same problem so I'm posting the solution:
Go to address bar in Firefox--
    Type in this:
    about:config'''
Click I AGREE on the warning
    Find -- '''print.macosx.pagesetup-2'''
    '''RIGHT CLICK on your mouse'''

  • Since OS X Yosemite upgrade, cannot share document from pages in word format. Therefore document cannot be opened by non apple user.  How do I get around this please?

Since the OS X Yosemite 10.10.2 update to my iMac (27 inch, Mid 2010) , I can no longer "share" a document from Pages in word format via email.  It can be sent as an att but then as "Pages"  cannot be accessed by a non apple receiver.  Please what is the answer, the old method was fast, simple and efficient.
Out of my depth appreciate some help.

Are you using the File > Export function? It will deposit a Word document onto your desktop (or any folder you choose) and then you can attach it to your email.

  • Cannot Print from Internet Pages

Hi, I have my HP Photosmart 5510 Printer connected to my laptop via Wi Fi. I can print successfully from files on the laptop ( such as word docs ), but if I try to print from an internet page, including E-mails, nothing happens. No items even appear in the printing list ( when I select 'see what is printing' ). I have reinstalled printer drivers from the HP website, but this does not cure the problem. Please help. Regards, Bob P.

Hi ,  I have done some research and found a few things for you to try. Please perform the steps outlined below and let me know the outcome of your efforts:  Method 1: Try printing a webpage running Internet Explorer as an Administrator. To start Internet Explorer as an Administrator, follow these steps: a)    Close all Internet Explorer windows.b)    Click Start, click All Programs, right-click Internet Explorer and select Run As Administrator.c)    Browse to a website and try test printing a page while running as the Administrator. If the issue persists, try next method. Method 2: Try printing after disabling Protected Mode. Try printing a webpage after disabling Protected Mode, to do this, follow these steps: a)    Click the Tools icon in Internet Explorerb)    Click the Security tab and uncheck the checkbox beside Enable Protected Mode (requires restarting Internet Explorer)c)    Click Apply, and then click OK.d)    Close all open Internet Explorer windows, and then restart Internet Explorer.e)    Browse to a website and try test printing a page while running as the Administrator. If the issue persists, try next method. Method 3:
Set IE as default browser. Follow the steps for the same: a. From the Start screen, type Default Programs, and select the Apps filter.
    b. Click Default Programs in the search results.
    c. Click Set your Default Programs.
    d. Choose Internet Explorer from the list.
    e. Select Set this program as default, and then click OK. For further reference, refer the following Microsoft article. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-8/choose-programs-windows-uses-default - Source If the issue persists, it might be a good idea to run the Microsoft fix it utility to Diagnose and fix printer and printing problems automatically. Please let me know if you can print after you try these suggested solutions. Thanks.

  • Cannot print documents after I downgraded internet explorer from version 8 back to 7.

Hello, Due to internet problems, I recently changed my internet explorer from Beta version 8 back to version 7.  Everything on my PC seems to be working fine except for printing.  I cannot print to my HP officejet J5780 all in one.   When I try to print an error message shows up in the print queue and it says printer offline.  The printer was set as default but I wonder if something was modified in the print setup when I reverted back to an older version of Explorer.  If I try to deinstall/reinstall I get an error saying I could permanently damage the printer configuration.   Also if I try to check HP drivers and software on the HP website it says I need to  update but fails to download the necessary files.  Please advise.

first thing to check is make sure  it is still a default printer
and go to properties and check for the port and make
sure it say what the port your printer that it is using
like a pareled or usb or TCP\IP connections
and if the TCP\IP check for the correct IP of the printer
and you may want to set the printer to "static"
this will keep it from changing IPs
and you may have to uninstall and reinstall
    the printer
    download the file manually
make sure you know where it is saved at
for IE click save not run
for Fire Fox but first go to the tool
and click option and look in the main tab
in the middle of the box click the circle
"Always ask where to save the file"
and make sure you know where you put
    the download at

  • Cannot print a web page that prints fine in IE9

I'm trying to print a web page in Firefox, but when I do the print preview it has web info at the top of the page but the rest is blank, the second page displays just fine, then all the other pages behind it are completely blank.
If I try to print a web page of the Firefox site it works great.
If I try to print the problem web page in IE9 it works great.
I tried to follow your instructions about:config then filter print.print_printer....however my config list doesn't have that file.

  • I cannot print a web page when in Firefox but it does print other info.

When I try to print a web page in Firefox I get multiple pages of what looks like programing information. It starts with a line that looks like this %!PS-Adobe-3.0. The next line gives the title of the website and then the creator and then date and goes on and on. It then changes to a line that reads %%BeginProlog and then %% BeginResource: file Pscript_WinNT_ErrorHandler 5.0 0 followed by multiple pages of junk. I went to another browser and was able to print a web page. Is there a setting that needs changed in FireFox or is something blocking the correct printout.
