Cannot print/make pdf unless change settings

I have two printers: An HP 6400 and a Kyocera/Mita 2550.
Both worked fine a couple of upgrades ago. However now there is a problem. If I print to the HP, no problem. If I print to the Kyocera however, I hit the final print button and nothing happens. Print screen remains there with highlighted print button. If I try to create a PDF, same result and same solution "fixes" it.
However if I then go to the printer menu and change some random setting and then change it back to the original setting, I can print.
I have wiped the drivers, replaced them and re-setup the printers to no avail. Anyone have any hints?

  • Cannot print to PDF after change decimal symbol

    When we used
Acrobat Pro 7.0, PDF printer worked fine with any setting of "Decimal
symbol" in regional setting. But, after we install Acrobat Pro 9.1, we cannot print t
o PDF any more, when we change decima symbol back to period,
it works but standard in my country is use comma "," for decimal symbol instead of per
iod "." error message is "standard.joboption..."
So, any one can give us the solution to print Word or Excel file to PDF without any error, why Acrobat 7 can work but not Acrobat 9.1 and above cannot.
    Thanks in advance!
    Hung

I downloaded a trial of Acrobat today, but apparently the Distiller part doesn't work at all. It's not really an option to change the decimal symbol, being Swedish. I'm using Win7x64, English language but Swedish keyboard, date format and of course comma as a decimal symbol.
Is the only solution using PDFcreator for printing PDFs? It seems very silly that Adobe can't get this right, it's beyond me why configuration parsing depends on the system locale!
This software is apparently not Win7-ready at all. Is there an updated version in the works?

Cannot print a PDF file after upgrading to Windows 8.1
I can print anything else from either the Desktop or Start but not a PDF.  No error message but just does not print.
Update: down loaded Adobe Reader which runs on the desktop so when I read a PDF file it now runs on the desktop and I can print it.

  • I cannot print a PDF from Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader with Mavericks!

I cannot print a PDF from Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Reader.  I tried on both MacBook Pros we have here, both now with Mavericks.  Error message says "Opening printer connection failed.  Unable to open printer connection . . . "  This is after it says sending data, printing, shows the percentages etc., but then at the end I get the error message above.  I can print a PDF (same one) from Preview, but not from Acrobat!  What's going on?  Never had this issue before Mavericks . . . Please help.

That DLL is part of your printer driver; reinstall or update the device driver for your printer, and the message should go away.

I followed the FAQ troubleshooting and that didn't help

Here is what worked for me:
My usb hub, being usb2, was too fast. I moved the wire to a usb port directory on my pc. That is a usb1 port which is slow enough to run your snyc.

    Whats up?

I have the same problem, I cannot print ANY PDF file from my Mac running 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and using Adobe ReaderXI 11.0.4 I have verified that all files print properly when printed from within Preview or within Libre office. There is no option in the Mac Adobe reader to reset the installation like there is on Windows. I have also tried deleting reader completely and re-installing and the same behavior.

  • Why I cannot print a PDF with markups?

We use Acrobat Standard 7.0.8 and cannot print a PDF document form with markups. We found a "quick fix" to print it, which was to select in the print dialogue to print Document and Markups.
    Question:
Because we've sent the form to our clients, they several have reported this about the form. Do you know why this would happen? Is it that they are using a different version of Adobe? Or what is the problem?
    Joe

That's the way the application works. If you think the default should be to print the markups send a feature request to Adobe, but I doubt it will happen. You just need to explain to your clients how to do it. It's quite simple.

  • Cannot print a pdf file when the pdf file is opened in another window

Running FF8.0 I cannot print a pdf file when the file is contained in a separate window opened by the appl (not just another tab). Options -> options -> applications all point to Use Adobe Applications in Firefox. I've had this problem in 7.0, 6.0, etc but I believe I was finally able to print these external browser/adobe windows somehow. Printing a pdf file shouldn't be that tough. When I run into this situation, file can be printed from the external window by IE.

Check the document properties (Security) for this file in Adobe Reader; perhaps printing is not allowed?

  • I cannot print adobe pdf documents as it is password protected. I forgot my password. How do I fix this problem?

I cannot print adobe pdf documents. Password protected. How do I fix this problem?

You'll need to remember it or recreate the PDF from the original file.
If there were an easy way to get around that, passwords wouldn't be worth much.

  • Uninstalled epson printer from control panel...installed new brother printer....now i cannot print anything .pdf old or newly downloaded

uninstalled epson printer from control panel...installed new brother printer....now i cannot print anything .pdf old or newly downloaded@

For starters, what exactly do you mean by "cannot print"?
Are you getting an error message? Are you trying to print from within Reader or are you opening these in the browser? What version of Reader. Even though it's a new printer, the drivers that came with it (or the ones that were already on your computer) may be old so, have you downloaded the most recent drivers from the Brother site?

  • PDF portfolio cannot print all pdfs

    Hi,
    [system: win xp, acrobat 9.3.1]
I cannot make acrobat print all pdfs in a portfolio. The user wants to be able to select multiple pdfs in the list in the portfolio and print - and I would expect Acrobat to be able to do that, but cannot make it work.
To test this issue i produced to pdf in acrobat. Use create new from blank page. no#1 is 1 page no#2 is 2 pages.
In acrobat click combine to single pdf > portfolio. I save my new pdf portfolio to the filesystem.
I open the portfolio and select both pdfs and click print icon. I only see 'All' in print range and NOT 'All pdf files' as other users explain they do
(for example in this post: http://prsync.com/adobe/batch-printing-pdfs-and-other-files-using-acrobat--19267/)
Hope someone knows whats missing and how to solve it??.

Did you follow the instructions on the website you gave in your post? In particular:
You don't have to print all the PDFs in the portfolio. If you click the List View button, you can then CTRL-Click to select just the files you want to print. Then, choose File> Print and Acrobat will only print the selected files

  • I cannot print a PDF document

I cannot print a full PDF document from my computer. I open the document and select my printer and click print and I only get the first page. I tell it to do a range of pages and I sometimes get the first 2 pages. Can anyone tell me if there is a setting somewhere that I can change to get this to work. I have downloading the document and saving it to my computer and then printing, and still no luck. This is becoming VERY frustrating.
Thank you for any help you can give.

First what program are you using to open the pdf document that would be a start? Also what kinda printer do you have? And also look here as well:

  • Cannot print a PDF

When i try to print a PDF it freezes the cursor and computer at the point when the printer starts to show its progress. I then have to force a shut down. , At times I see a message that says: page not selected.

    I suggest the following:
Click "File" and choose "Print Setup".
Check to make sure that "A4" is selected (if that's the paper size you're using).
Then click the "Properties" button. This should take you to your printer setup. it will depend on which printer you have as to the menu layout, but you should be able to see a tab called "Page Setup" or something similar.
Check to see what's been configured. Ideally, you want "Portrait" and "Normal size printing".
If all appears to be well, go to "File" and then "Print". This should display a picture of what you're about to print together with the settings which have been enabled. I suggest you checkmark "Current Page" which will just print the first page.
If it appears smudged or distorted, there should be a "Maintenance" tab as described in step #3. In there, there should be one or two cleaning options.
After you clean the heads, try printing a page again.

  • Cannot Print Some PDF documents

    Hello All,
I am unable to print some PDF documents to my printer HP (Laserjet Pro 400 color MFP). The MAC OS is Moutain Lion. The documents look like they are printing but no print job is produced and no error message is given.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
    Many Thanks

    Hello eorilly5,
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities!
It sounds like you are unable to print from anything from your printer.
I would recommend these troublehsooting steps from the article named Troubleshooting printer issues in OS X found here http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3147.
Make sure that the printer is powered on, has ink / toner, and that there are no alerts on the printer’s control panel. Note: If you cannot clear an alert on the printer's control panel, stop here and check the printer's documentation or contact the manufacturer for support.
Ensure the printer is properly connected to a USB port on the Mac or AirPort base station / Time Capsule. If the printer is a network-capable printer, make sure that it is properly connected to your home network.
Use Software Update to find and install the latest available updates. If an update is installed, see if the issue persists.
Open the Print & Scan pane or Print & Fax (Snow Leopard) pane in System Preferences.
Delete the affected printer, then add the printer again.
If the issue persists, try these additional steps:
Reset the printing system, then add the printer again.
If the issue still persists, reset the printing system again.  Download and install your printer's drivers. Then, add the printer again.
Contact the printer vendor or visit their website for further assistance.
    All the very best,
    Sterling
