Cannot print more than one copy from Win2000 to USB printer on a G5

Hi,
I have set up shared printing so that a Windows 2000 PC can print directly to my Canon S600 on the USB port of the G5, however, we cannot get it to print more than one copy of a document at a time, i.e. you tell Word to print five copies but only one comes out.
I tried changing the printer driver to the Canon S600 (from an installer CD), but we couldn't get it to print at all.
Then tried the HP Laserjet driver and Apple Colour Laserwriter driver. Both these work but we still only get one print out at a time.
Is it a case of going through all the printer drivers until one works, or is it a limitation of printing over a wireless network to a USB printer?
Justin

As I recall, there is a setting in Windows that determines whether it is the printer, or Windows itself, that generates the multiple copies. You need to have Windows generate each copy.

  • Can you print more than one copy from eprint.

Does anyone know how to print more than one copy from eprint?

    Hi JJSS,
Currently, the solution only offers one copy. If you need to print multiple copies, the workaround is to send the email multiple times.

  • Cannot print more than one copy! Any ideas?

My wife came home with a HP 5400dn officejet pro the other night from Staples.
After setting the thing up with a successful test page, I tried a real print job. So far so good. Then I tried to use the duplex function but wait, where is the option to duplex print? There isn't one, even with a 2 page document!
Then I tried to print a two sided document manually, first one page, then the other. OK, fine, but what if you want 10 copies of one side?
No way! I hit the print command, set the number of copies, and get 1 copy. Again and again. And again. It does not matter whether I ask for 5, 10 or 40 copies. I get 1 copy.
So I called HP and after 45 minutes with a Mac using tech who is mirroring everything he tells me to do, we can't get the thing to print more than one copy.
So he tells me he will forward the issue to HP engineers who conference call with Apple engineers weekly to resolve these kinds of issues, but he thinks its is an OSX 10.4.10 issue.
So because I need a printer, we go out yesterday and buy a Brother 4040cn color laser printer (Staples again, great price, 399). Today I set it up in 10 minutes, easey peasey, and guess what? Still no multiple copies.
Does not matter how many I ask for, print quality is excellent, but it will only give me one copy.
Sounds as though it is an OSX issue, no?
But wait! I am using Open Office 2.2, could that be the problem? I don't have any microserf Office products to test from, could it be the application not the OS?

There does seem to be a problem with OpenOffice 2.2. I just tried printing 3 copies of a document. It only printed one copy.
I looked at the CUPS error_log to see what was happening. I have CUPS debugging turned on. The parameters that OpenOffice sent to the printer show:
    D [18/Aug/2007:10:25:06 -0500] StartJob: argv = "Epson1280_GP_5_usbtb","251","matt","Test Copies","1","InputSlot=Standard PageSize=Letter","/private/var/spool/cups/d00251-001"
I then sent a print job requesting 3 copies from BBEdit. The parameters that were sent to the printer show:
    D [18/Aug/2007:10:35:25 -0500] StartJob: argv = "Epson1280_GP_5_usbtb","252","matt","Test Copies","3","StpQuality=Standard
The important parameter appears after the job title "Test Copies". The job from OpenOffice shows it requested one copy. The job from BBEdit shows it request 3 copies.
I don't have a solution for you, but I can confirm where the problem is. It would exonerate both the printers you tried.

  • Since downloading the iOS on my iPad, I cannot download more than one pdf from mail to iBooks.  I have to shut down y iPad and start again.  Any suggestions?

Since downloading iOS on my new iPad, I cannot downlaod more than one pdf from mail into iBooks.  I have to shut down my iPad and restart it to save a second pdf. Wasn't a problem with the old operating system.  Any suggestions?

It seems that I have solved my issue by performing a full factory reset (erasing all content, something which I had hoped to avoid) restoring from an iCloud backup did not alleviate the issue, I had to set up as a new iPad.
Hopefully anyone else else who has this issue in the future will be able to find this.

  • How do I print more than one copy of a photo at a time?

I am trying to add a photo to a card, but I can only print one at a time.  How do I print more than one copy of a photo at a time?

Do you want to print more than one card or more than one photo on a card?
To print multiple photos on one page select the photos and print, select the printer, paper size, photo size (obviously the photos will have to be sized so the number you want will fit inclusing a small border) and click customize - in teh settings select multiple photos per page (the preview will reflect your selection) and click print - make any printer specific selections and click print to print

My HP Officejet 6500 E709a All-in-One will not print more than one copy at a time.  This is especially disconcerting at Christmas time when you're trying to get Christmas letters in the mail!  Any help?

The cyan portion of the printhead may be clogged.  I would suggest running the diagnostics shown here.  If three levels of cleaning of the printheads does not resolve the issue you may need a new printhead.

  • Unable to print more than one copy at a time to any printer

I've had this issue for a while but have just been dealing with it but I ran into an issue where I needed 50 copes of a document and I had to print the document 50 times......
First, the issue; Through any of the applications I've tried (Preview, Adobe, Pages, numbers) to print multiple copies, I can't get more than one to print at a time. Even if I set the number of copies to 2, 5, 10 or whatever, only one copy prints.
I've tried multiple printers, One connected via USB, one shared through an OS X Leopard server and the other through an IP port all with the same result.
All of the printers are various HPs but I had this issue with a Lexmark one in the past. I am running 10.5.5 and am really hoping someone has a solution to this.
    Thanks,

  • LJ 3030 Refuses to print more than one copy after Windows 7 is installed

I've had quite a few problems getting my LJ 3030 to print correctly after having installed Windows 7. I believe this is the very last problem and I'm unable to resolve it. Regardless of the number of copies I enter in any program MS Word/Excel, Eudora, PDF, etc. I can only get one copy at a time to print. There is no error message. If I put "10" in the number of copies, it accepts it, but only one copy will print.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, I've installed the universal driver, but it appears it's just going to ignore all of my attempts and makes me go thru the print box the same number of times as the number of copies I want.
    Anyone????
    Sandi in Seattle

Try doing an "Add printer," and then, "Windows Update." You should then be able to pick one of the LJ3030 drivers that was added from the Windows update. Choose the same printer port that you used before with the universal print driver.

  • Printer won't print more than one copy

Ever since I got my new computer, I have not been able to print more than 1 document at a time from Microsoft Works.  When I need to print over 500 hundred copies every few months, this is a big problem for me.  Any other programs will print as many as I need except Works.  My computer has Windows 7 and my printer is an HP Deskjet F4480 series.  How can I get this fixed?

    I don't use spell catcher.
I found a workaround posted elsewhere in the Apple discussion forum. When going through the printing dialog boxes, select Preview and print whatever number of pages I need from that window. It works fine so I'll use that method until a future Mac OS X update fixes the problem.
The security update for OS X on 3-1-06 didn't fix the problem even after I repaired permissions.
    Thanks for responding.

  • LaserJet 5000 will not print more than one copy at a time.

We have recently moved our office.  A LaserJet 5000 which is used as an office printer is shared through one of the computers on the network in the exact same way it was more we moved.  But since the move it will not print multiple copies of the same document no matter how many copies the software tells the printer to print it will only print one copy then it stops.  Before the moved it worked fine.  If the software program such as Word told it to print 100 copies it printed 100 copies now one is the limit.   So if you want to printmore than one you have to hit print that many times.  It has 172 MB RAM.  Does anyone have any ideas of what might have happened????

I have the same issue with a photosmart 2410xi. Did you ever get yours figured out?
