Cannot print pdf on my mac 10.9.4 shows all types of error

I can't print at all, it shows all kinds of errors, some say "no page was selected" if is a PDF from internet , when is from a down laod say error document cannot be printed and it quits by itself, say internal error and shuts down acrobat or it says go to acrobat and sign the agreement (which I did already 100 times) I downloaded version 11.0.07, I don't know if this is the problem, I went to apple store, they told me contact acrobat cus it was them, and I called hp to reset printer, they said it was acrobat reader.

Do you have at least 4 GBs of RAM installed and at least 20 GBs of free space on your hard drive.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks without erasing drive
Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
Repair
When the recovery menu appears select Disk Utility. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported then click on the Repair Permissions button. When the process is completed, then quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion, Mountain Lion, or Mavericks
OS X Mavericks- Reinstall OS X
OS X Mountain Lion- Reinstall OS X
OS X Lion- Reinstall Mac OS X
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Cannot print PDF files on Mac OS X

    Hi,
since some update from Reader 8.1 to 8.1.2 I cannot print PDF files anymore. Meanwhile I installed Reader 9, but with no luck.
If I crank up the preferences I get the error "Failed to load an application resource (internal error)." ... maybe there is something wrong with the installation, but even an reinstall doesnt fix it.
If I try to print I get only the message "The document could not be printed" and then "There were no pages selected to print." ... no matter what PDF I try to print.
The Apple Preview works without any problems, so the PDFs should be good.
Can anyone help me on this ... its really frustrating.
    Best Regards
    --Michael

I had this same problem. I did a clean install of OS X 10.5.6 to an USB hard drive, installed Adobe Reader 9, and tried printing. It worked fine. Then I cloned the external drive back onto the internal drive and it failed with the same no pages selected problem.
It turns out that my filesystem on my internal hard drive is case sensitive, but the external hard drive had the default case-insensitive file system.
    To fix, do this:
Go get yourself an external firewire or usb hard drive at least as big as your internal drive. Plug it in and use Disk Utility.app (under /Applications/Utilities) to Erase it and format it as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)". The download CarbonCopyCloaner, a free utility that can copy an entire drive. Use CCC to clone your Macintosh HD to the external drive.
Now that you have a backup drive, go to System Preferences and choose Startup Disk. Pick the external drive as the the startup drive. Reboot and check that your printing works properly now.
If that fixed your problem, while you are booted from the external drive, use Disk Utility to erase Macintosh HD and format it as "Mac OS Extended (Journaled)" not "Mac OS Extended (Journaled) case-sensitive". Then use CCC to copy everything back. Reboot.

  • Cannot print PDF file with version 11.0.10 Adobe Reader.

Cannot print PDF file with version 11.0.10 Adobe Reader.  Get error messages "This document could not be printed" and "There are no pages selected to print".  I am using a Mac OS Ver 10.0.2.  I see that this question has been asked by others recently, but no answers.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Assuming you are running 10.10.2 and not the ancient 10.0.2, can you tell us what printer and printer driver you are using? How is the printer connected to the computer (network, usb)? See if you can delete the Reader preference files? Years ago I resetting the printer subsystem would sometimes cure a problem like this.

  • After downloading latest Reader software (11) on my Mac (OS10.7.5) I cannot print pdf files on either of my two printers. How do I uninstall and reinstall the software?  Adobe's instructions are only for Window devices.

After downloading latest Reader software (11) on my Mac (OS10.7.5) I cannot print pdf files on either of my two printers. I suspect corrupt software.  How do I uninstall and reinstall the software?  Adobe's on-line instructions are only for Window devices.

You can just drag the file to the trash. If you want you can remove  the pdf plug-in from the internet-plug in folder, but that should not be necessary to correct your problem.

  • Cannot print pdf using Mac OSX 10.9.3 and Reader XI 11.0.07

Please advise how to get Apple Mac OSX 10.9.3 withAdobe Reader XI 11.0.07 to print pdf. Able to open the pdf but on selecting print simply comes up with an Adobe red box saying "Cannot print pdf". I believe this is a common problem so expect Adobe have an answer.

Have had same problem with error message "Unable to convert postscript file". No response from Adobe. Even tried their technical support which said they offered no support for free products.  Have found a couple go arounds but no fixes.

  • Cannot open PDF files on Mac

I cannot open PDFs on my Mac but can open the same files on my PC.  When I create a PDF from the computer and when I send it to our office printer as a scan-PDF, I cannot open either.  Have downloaded Adobe Acrobat, etc., and still waiting for a response from them.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

Don't use Acrobat, use Preview. Preview is already pre-installed on your computer. If you cannot locate it, type Command-Shift (opens Spotlight) and type in Preview and hit return.

I fixed this problem. I had to turn off the browser virtualization feature in Zone Alarm Extreme Security. This wiped out all of the Firefox settings, but I had bookmarks, etc. backed up. (answered by original poster)

  • Cannot print PDF with Adobe Reader 9.4.6 ?

I cannot print PDF files using Adobe Reader 9.4.6.  OS is VISTA.   Everytime I try to print a PDF file, I receive the following message - " Before you can perform print or related tasks such as page settings or printing you need to install a printer"  I have a printer installed and can print word, excel files, etc.  Cannot print any PDF files.  Help!

Had you managed to print the same files, or are you talking about files you hadn't attempted to print? Are these PDF files forms that you are trying to fill and print in Reader?

  • Cannot print PDF's with Kyocera

I am using a Kyocera 5050 in my office installed as a network printer that utilizes local authorization codes for each employee in order to track printing usage. Normally, a print job will be sent to the printer and a box will pop up asking for credentials (the username and password for the printer). The printer will authorize the print job and then print it. I have one employee which cannot print PDF's from Acrobat. I tried updating the printer driver, Acrobat is up to date, and he has no trouble printing from any other application. Tried installing Adobe Acrobat Reader in order to see if it was just Acrobat, and Reader will not allow printing either. The computer will send the print job to the printer, but the printer rejects the credentials and will not print the job. No other employee has issues so it isn't a network issue, and his credentials work in any other software outside of Adobe products so I'm assuming that the issue lies within Adobe's software. Any ideas?

I we understand your posting, only one user out of a group of users printing to a particular printer requiring credential presentation is having problems printing from Acrobat. How do you conclude that “the issue lies within Adobe's software” given that the other users don't have this problem?
The particular printer, the Kyocera 5050, supports a number of page description languages, including their own emulations of PostScript and PCL. What page description language is being used? Are all the users setup with the same driver using the same page description language and the exact same driver settings?
Acrobat and Reader generate their own PostScript, bypassing the driver for that function. Drivers that attempt to put up their own dialogs (such as requesting credentials) and then try to insert commands into the PostScript stream must do so very carefully per conventions established by Microsoft and Adobe. If such commands (such as a pre-job authentication stream) are not properly inserted, then they might be put into the job in the wrong place or go missing altogether.
I would recommend checking the driver for the user experiencing the problems, making sure it is the exact same version and having all the same settings as those for users not having problems.

  • Cannot print pdf doc

After upgrading to 11.0.10 I cannot print PDF. I've got 2 boxes: The document cannot be printed and There were no Pages selected.

I think we need to know what Sibleyfam is using as a PDF reader. I have had difficulties printing PDFs using Adobe Reader to various HP LaserJets but if I open the files using Preview they print without any problem at all. Right-click or Control-click on the PDF icon and select the Open With option... then slide across to the available applications and select Preview... if, of course, the document was opening in Adobe Reader previously. If it won't print from Preview it could be a postscript error generated by a bad font in the PDF. Opening the file in Photoshop or similar so you are, effectively, rasterizing the font data may solve the problem if a dodgy font is the issue. Converting the file to Postscript should also produce the same fix though I just 'printed' a PDF as a .ps file and the text was still selectable making me think that the font problem (if it is this) will not disappear after the conversion.
I hope this helps eliminate something even if it doesn't solve your problem.

  • After updating to Adobe Reader 11.0.07 on my iMac, I cannot print pdf forms off the web

after updating my iMac to Adobe Reader 11.0.07, I cannot print pdf forms off the Web

It would be great, if you could provide us with the following details:
    1. The OS you are working on.
    2. The version of MS Office installed on your machine.
    3. A screenshot of the error message along with the scenario in which the same is displayed.
    4. How exactly did you go about updating Reader 11.0.02 to 11.0.03. Was it via the updater mechanism or by downloading the patch from the Adobe site.
Also, it would be great if you could let us know if there was any other Windows or Antivirus related updates applied on your machine in the same timeframe as the Reader update.
