Cannot print settings

I suddenly am unable to print the settings  on the My Network Settings. When I click on the print sign nothing happens - it does not register on my printer. I used to be able to do this. My router is WRT54G and my printer is HP Officejet J3680  All- in-One.

  • Is CS5 extended compatible with Epson products? I cannot select printer settings.

I've had this problem for a very long time with multiple Epson printers. This problem only applies to Adobe products as other image editing software work fine. The printer settings button does not work in Photoshop so I cannot select paper type or any of the other settings. Adobe blame the problem on Epson and Epson blame the problem on Adobe but the bottom line is, I'm left holding the bag as I paid a lot of money for these products and they don't work together. At least Epson will answer the phone and try to help. Adobe do "NOTHING" for you! I've been on here before with this problem with my last Epson Printer. It was a Stylus Photo 1270 and I was told by some wise guy that "it was a 13 year old printer, what do I expect." Well I have a brand new Epson R 3000 and I have the same problem. I'm using CS5 Extended and have all the latest drivers. Here is a link talking about this problem but it doesn't give any solution that works for me: Print settings option unavailable in Print dialog box | Photoshop CS5. I've already done everything it says here! Typical of Adobe ducking their head in the sand! I can get the print settings on other applications like Preview (no problem) which Epson claim, proves the problem lies with Adobe. An Adobe tech. told me on here (last year) that the problem was with Epson as they have to write the driver software to the application (Photoshop), yet Epson claim that the problem is not in the driver but in the application itsalf. Adobe will just bury their head in the sand and act like nobody is home!
Really sick of this crap, neil.

Thanks for getting back to me Gene. I will give that a try if I continue to have problems, but I have found a workaround solution, or at least discovered a glitch. Like I said, when I click the "Print Settings..." button, it fails to open up a Print Settings window, so I have no way of choosing the paper etc.. However, If I switch it from "Photoshop Manages Colors" to "Printer Manages Colors" and then back again, I can then click the "Print Settings..." button and it will open up a Print Settings window (go figure?). If I were to guess I would put the blame on Adobe's printer interface, not the print drivers from Epson. Like I said, this problem has been haunting me for a while on numerous printers. It's intermittent so sometimes it works alright and I forget about it, then it comes back, but now I may have discovered a workaround.
    Cheers, neil.

  • Office 2013 with Lexmark printer - Cannot change printer settings

I have a Lexmark x4650 and I can open the printer settings within all of the Office 2013 applications (Windows 7 64-bit). But after I change the settings to what I want, I cannot exit the printer settings dialog. If I click OK, nothing happens. If I click
Cancel, nothing happens. If I click the X in the upper right of the window, nothing happens. The only way to close the printer settings dialog is to force the Office application to close through the Windows task manager. I've tried re-installing both Office
and the Lexmark print driver/applications with no success. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks,
    John

We need to narrow down the issue, to see if the root cause is on Office side or Printer side. Please try below steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Try obtaining an updated printer driver from the printer's manufacturer. And update your PC, restart and try again.
    2. Try to select another printer in Printer
drop-down list in any Office application, and try again to see if we have the same issue.
Printing is primarily controlled by settings in Microsoft Windows:
    3. Please try to print a file outside the Office application, say a .pdf file to determine whether your printer setup in Windows is correct or using the Windows Printing
    Troubleshooter.
Hope this can help you. Thanks.

  • I just upgraded my iPad to ios6. Now my Epson iPrint crashes all the time. I called Epson and they had no answer...said to use AirPrint instead. But AirPrint stinks because you cannot change printer settings. Anybody know how to make iPrint work on ios6?

Anybody know how to make Epson iPrint work on ios6? Epson told me to use AirPrint, which stinks because you cannot change printer settings.

Epson needs an update to their app to support ios6. I'm sure they will in time.
Try deleting it and re download it. If that doesn't work, it's what I said above. :(

JimHess~  Many thanks.  In my short history with LR, it's amazing how many people I've seen ask this question.  I'm nearly embarrassed at how simple the fix was, but grateful that you didn't dismiss such a basic question.  You made my week.  And my friend's photo album...

  • Cannot change print settings, print on foto size

When I want to print a webpages the printer (HP6380) prints in the format 10 x 15 instaed of A4. I tried changing the settings in printermenu but it did not help...

When reading your '''More system details...''' for the HPOfficejet 6300 series printer, the paper height is set to 11.0 and the width to 8.5 - '''inch''' settings for Letter size paper - not metric settings for A4 sized paper.
Where are you checking the setting for A4 paper?
{Ctrl + P} to see what is known as the "native print dialog", then check to make sure that printer is selected in the Printer - Name box at the top, and then hit the '''Properties''' button. The preferences that appear there are what Firefox uses. Settings that appear elsewhere or the "default" printer settings aren't what Firefox uses.

  • Cannot set custom print settings using mg6220

Have just purchased a new iMac running 10.8.2 and Canon MG 6220.  Can print, but am not able to set custom print settings and see disclosure triangle in the Print Dialogue Window that I would click on to get to this option.  The instructions and illustrations in the manual are not the same as what I am seeing in my print window.

Then I think you have selected the AirPrint driver rather than the MG6200 Series driver.
So what you can do is open Print & Scan, select the current MG6220 in the Printers list and press the minus button to remove it. Then click on the plus button next to the minus button to add but if a little sub-menu window appears showing the MG6220 under the heading of Nearby Printers, as shown below with my MP990, do not select this.
Instead, select the menu item that says Add Printer or Scanner. This will make the Default Add printer view appear. Here you should see the MG6220. Select it and if the Use menu shows AirPrint, click on this menu and select Canon MG6200 Series. Then click Add to complete. This should now give you the same Quality & Media menu that I have shown above.

  • Help!  I cannot access "printer settings" dialogue...

For some reason, when trying to print with my Epson 3880, the print dialogue pulldown menu does not have a "printer settings" menu available.  Weirdly enough, it shows up for my Artisan 810.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Go to Settings>General>Restrictions. Do you have restrictions on? If so, that would prevent you from making changes in some areas of the iPhone.

  • I Cannot Print From Photoshop CC, Performance is SLOW and TYPE causes a problems.

    Hi!
To start, I have noticed HUGE bugs with Photoshop CC on multiple levels on different computers with different setups.
    Computer one
Print Issues:  I am getting this error message "The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of photoshop, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing" and "The saved print information is an incompatible version. It has been set to default values.". I have tried deleting the pref file, updating the printer driver, checking print logs and computer updates. All are up to date and running well. When I hit print, the dialog box comes up but will not allow me to change ANYTHING. So I can only print on an 8.5x11. However if i go into the actual printer preferences and change the default settings there, then go to photoshop and print it will allow me to the size I set the defaults at. I can print from any other program without an issue and I did not have any such problems with CS6. What other causes could be the cause of this and what are your suggestions to fix this? It seems to be a Photoshop bug, which is what I have been reading a lot of.  I work off a Dell, windows 8.1 64bit. I would LOVE to downgrade to CS6 but cannot once I upgraded to CC. I did not have this problem when I first upgraded and for a few weeks after.
Performance and Font Issues: This seems(ed) to go hand and hand. But also performance happens more sporadically for some odd reason. The CPU usage and MEMORY went to 100% and photoshop was using 1,860.2 sometimes spiking to 4,000 MB of memory.  I searched all the forums and found that my photoshop was not liking a specific font. I removed the font and things started moving faster. Then a few minutes later, it started to lag again with the same type of CPU and MEMORY spike. I then did more research and found that turning off the font preview has helped, so I turned off that. Photoshop started to work A LOT faster, no lag and seemed to function correctly. The 2 weeks ago, I started to experience the lag again (but without the CPU and MEMORY spike) and with only opening certain files to which none had any fonts that Adobe has said doesn't work with photoshop. I then researched again and found that again, the fonts preview when hoovering over the fonts and having the fonts change in the document was giving issues. Alass...there was my issue, again with the fonts. I then did all the research and did what the forums said such as, try using a brand new doc and create a file with out any of the fonts in the old doc to cause conflicts. NOPE. I was having issues in the new doc and getting this error "Could not complete your request because of program error" then photoshop would lock up because of CPU and MEMORY spike.
    Computer two:
Same issue as computer one's Performance and Font Issues.
Now, I am no programmer nor do I understand that complexity of what goes in to create these programs, but EVERY ADOBE forum I have read will not admit it's a font issue or that there is a problem with the fonts, BUT my WEEKS of issues and research all keep coming back to FONTS when dealing with performance issues. So how can we get a fix on the fonts issue asap as my team nor I cannot work in the current photoshop because of performance issues?
A quick response would be much appreciated!
    Thank you much!
UPDATE: I received a phone call from ADOBE and they said to me that they could send me a CS6 version that i wouldn't have to pay for and would also "Solve My Problem". I said, no thank you being that I have the CC and have access to ALL the programs, so that actually doesn't solve my problem or the overall problem of the CC program. So they escalated my problem and will have someone else respond to me as soon as possible.

Quite frankly that’s too much text for me to read in one post … (edit: So consider this more of a bump of the thread than an actual attempt at helping.)

  • Cannot Print in Acrobat Pro 9.4.2 (XP Pro SP3), but Other Apps Can

I am unable to print PDFs on my workstation unless I drag them from a Windows Explorer session and drop them on an open printer window (Start, Printers and Faxes, double-click on printer to open window). I have Acrobat 9 Professional (ver. 9.4.2) running under Windows XP Pro (SP3). I cannot print a PDF from within Acrobat or from within a browser window. I have done a "repair install" on Acrobat and rebooted. When I try to print from within Acrobat or a browser window, I do not receive any form of error message. There is no indication of any problem. If I have the printer window open window (Start, Printers and Faxes, double-click on printer to open window) and I try to print from Acrobat or a browser, I never see anything appear in the window, even briefly. If I drag a PDF from Windows Explorer and drop it in the printer window, the document name appears briefly in the window and the document prints.
I have double checked my printer settings from within Acrobat to make sure that it is not "printing to file." The correct printer *is* selected.
I've tried printing to different printers in the office. I've even tried printing to the "virtual printer" which is a front-end to our fax server. No dice. If I monitor the printers folder (which lists every printer that my workstation can print to currently), the "documents" column (which shows the number of documents in the queue to be printed) never changes from zero.
The fact that I can drag a PDF from Windows Explorer and drop it on a printer and get it to print really puzzles me, since I thought that this was only possible if either Acrobat Pro (or other paid version) or Acrobat Reader was installed. That is, I thought that Windows XP cannot print a PDF unless some sort of PDF reader (Acrobat, Nitro, etc.) is installed. Then again, I may be mistaken. *IF* indeed Windows XP doesn't know how to print a PDF without help from a PDF reader of some sort (Acrobat Reader, Nitro, etc.), then how is it that I can drag, drop and print, but I can't print from within Acrobat Pro itself? Meanwhile, all other apps print just fine to any given printer.
FYI... this question has languished for two weeks with no solution at experts-exchange.com. I've never stumped them before. I've never waited more than 24 hours for an answer there before, and usually a solution takes just an hour or two. This suggests to me that my situation is quite rare. Can anyone get me on track?

  • I cannot print in color from my MacBook Pro

I cannot print in color from my MacBook Pro to my hpdeskjet 6122

    hi FalconMom,
EWS stands for Embedded Web Server.  You will be able to access the printer EWS if it is connected to the same network as your PC or notebook.  Here are the instructions to connect to EWS.
    Open the embedded Web server
You can access the embedded Web server via either the network or Wi-Fi Direct.
To open the embedded Web server via network
NOTE: The printer must be on a network and must have an IP address. The IP address for the
printer can be found by pressing the Wireless icon or by printing a network configuration page.
In a supported Web browser on your computer, type the IP address or hostname that has been assigned to the printer.   For example, if the IP address is 192.168.0.12, type the following address into a Web browser:
    http://192.168.0.12.
To open the embedded Web server using Wi-Fi Direct
From the Home screen, touch (Wireless) and then touch (Settings).
If the display shows that Wi-Fi Direct is Off, touch Wi-Fi Direct and then switch it on.
From your wireless computer, turn wireless on, search for and connect to the Wi-Fi Direct name,
for example: DIRECT-**- HP Officejet-5740 (where ** are the unique characters to identify your
printer). Enter the Wi-Fi Direct password when prompted.
In a supported Web browser on your computer, type the following address: http://192.168.223.1.

  • Photoshop CS6 freezes with attempts to change printer settings

(This problem also occurs with InDesign CS6, so I will post to that forum as well. First one to give me a solution gets my undying love and devotion appreciation.)
My employer acquired a Canon 6010 printer with a Fiery print controller last year. I have no problems printing from my personal Windows laptop.
However, from my employer's iMac (OS X 10.6.8) I get the spinning beach ball of death at least 90% of the time that I open an existing document and attempt to change the printer settings. The only way out is via Force Quit. Inexplicably I can occasionally succeed in changing printer settings. I think the record was having to force quit the application 11 times. Not sure - I quit counting.
So far our only semi-consistent work around: create a new document and copy and paste the contents from the existing document. Not cool. But sometimes the app freezes with brand new documents, thus destroying my work around anyway.
    Additional Information:
I have installed all CS6 upgrades.
Our technical support contractor recreated the problem and could not find any solution other than the work around.
Canon says the problem is with the applications.
This happens whether I attempt to change the printer settings immediately or make changes to the document first.
It does not matter what other applications are running.
Rebooting the system after the app freezes does not make it work.
We cannot upgrade past 10.6.8 because of the age of the hardware. But CS6 is supposed to run on Snow Leopard.
I have tested this with other applications, including some older Adobe software. It does not happen with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, InDesign CS3, Photoshop CS3, Acrobat 8 Pro, Acrobat 9 Pro or Acrobat XI Pro.
This happens whether the documents were created and saved on the Mac or on a Windows computer.
Re-saving the documents and/or printer settings does not change the outcome. Once I restart the application Photoshop may remember the paper size, but doesn't remember duplex settings. (From another thread in this forum I suspect a corrupt printer preferences file.)
Per the instructions in the other thread I reset the printing preferences by launching the app while holding down shift-control-command. That enabled me to change the printer settings one time. Every subsequent attempt brought back the spinning beach ball.
No other employees report similar problems (including a few MacBook users). However, they do not use Photoshop or InDesign, nor do they typically change printer settings.
Sorry if some of that is irrelevant - just trying to give you as much info as possible and tell you what I've tried already. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Bonnie

Nanneri, my situation is similar in that creating the PDF and printing from that does take longer than just printing from InDesign and Photoshop.
I finally got a Canon tech rep on site who understood my problem. Though we had tried reinstalling the drivers (as had previous Canon reps), this guy got it right. Neither Photoshop nor InDesign has locked up since - at least not for the Canon 6010. (Photoshop has locked up twice when I've attempted to print to a Canon iPF8300s wideformat that isn't on the Fiery. Restarting PS has fixed that.)
Based on my experience, I would start with new drivers.
FYI: I am having problems printing to a new Canon C7065 that also uses Fiery. But the problems vary and I haven't isolated the factors. Sometimes I get a printed error report. Sometimes it just doesn't print. But no more software lockups.
In our case, I suspected our problems were related to having old hardware that can't be upgraded past OS X 10.6.8, which is the oldest OS compatible with both CS6 and the Fiery. But since you are on a newer OS, and a different printer, I'm beginning to wonder about the Fiery.
Hope you find a solution soon. Keep us posted!

  • Aperture crashes when adjusting print settings.

    Hello,
    Macbook Pro OSX 10.4.11
    Aperture 1.5.6
    ATI Graphics Card
I've had Aperture crash on me about 6 times today. Each time I am adjusting my print settings. Very frustrating. Within the last 48 hrs. Aperture has lost a handful of images. They were there one minute, the next they were gone. Now it's crashing when I'm adjusting print settings.
Also... probably shouldn't post this here but... My computer shuts down when running on less than 33% battery power. Just shuts itself right down... no warning, nothing.
    Any help... HUGELY appreciated.

Did you ever figure this out? My MBP is doing the same thing. I'm trying to print contact sheets. I can configure the images for the sheet, but the "Printer" box show "No printer selected" and I cannot click on the text to add or type in a printer.
Below it, the "Print Settings" button is active, but clicking on it crashes Aperture within 3 or four seconds.
I think this must be an Aperture problem as I can print from PS and from the various Nikon programs I have.

  • Cannot print document with added barcode text boxes

    G'day
I'm adding two text boxes to an illustrator document with Applescript, but when I go to print, ?I get an error 'Cannot print the illustration. The Color Management settings are inconsistent.'
The error message is not error trappable.
I have to barcode thousands of documents a year, and this is a big deal breaker. Is there any fix, please?
    Regards

    G'day Owen, & W_J_T.
Unfortunately your suggestions did not work for me.
I've tried using the GUI to access the print dialog box, but as usual with Adobe, they've stuffed that up too. What I did find however, that the print dialog box recognised keystrokes, and always defaults to the Printer box when opening.
Also, the Printer box sets itself to a matching item of whatever key is pressed, and so does the Printer Preset box.
So, even tho I can't select any given box, provided I have a Printer Preset set, I can access it by the following (slower) method...
    activate
tell application "System Events" to tell process "Adobe Illustrator"
      keystroke "p" using command down
keystroke (character 1 of (my theLargePagePrinter as text)) as text
      repeat 17 times
      keystroke tab
tell current application to delay 0.1
      end repeat
keystroke (character 1 of (my theLargePagePrinter as text)) as text
      keystroke return
      end tell
Note that if you have more than one printer or Printer Preset starting with the same letter, then you'll have to use more than just the first character of your printer name.
