Cannot print to Epson 1280 AEBS

Help!
I cannot seem to print to my Epson 1280 through my Extreme Base-station (firmware 5.7). The print center sees the printer via rendezvous, I can add the printer successfully, but whenever I print, it times out on "Looking for Epson 1280" and returns the error "could not communicate with the printer".
I have tried resetting the base-station and printer.
It does not work from either my ibook g4 or powermac g4 (both run 10.4.5 but the powermac has a standard airport card).
Any thoughts?

    Help

I'm so embarrassed.  The reason I was having trouble printing is because I did not install the latest print driver from Epson for Mountain Lion 10.8.1.   I thought of this in the shower and tried it and now everything is fine.
I hope I didn't send anybody on a wild goose chase.

    Hi
    1. Click on the Apple logo at the top left corner of the screen and select System Preferences.
    2. Click on Printers and Scanners pane.
    3. You need to highlight your printer on the left hand side and remove it from the list by clicking on little "-" button
    4. Click on little "+" button and add it back.
You may also try to reset printer settings

  • Help!! Cannot print to Epson 4900 using PS-CS4 on Mac 10.8.4?

My new MacBookPro using Photoshop CS4 prints just fine to my Epson 2400 and 1900 however when using my new 4900 I click "print" and the printer icon bounces once in the dock and then disappears.  The printer then gyrates and makes noise but puts out no image.  I can print documents and images from Preview and Pages and the web on the 4900 so I know the printer can print.  I have reloaded CS4 several times from my disc and the Epson driver several times to no avail. The Epson tech guy says what appears obvious, that the printer is working fine but that PS cannot communicate with the 4900. Has any one had this experience and were you able to solve the problem?

You're having a problem with the printer driver.
Deleting and reinstalling the printer in the OS controls may help.
Otherwise you need to contact Epson.
Photoshop does not communicate with the printer, ever.
The driver code communicate with the printer.
Photoshop communicates with the OS, and the OS communicates with the driver.
And you're having a problem with the driver.

  • Adobe Photoshop (CS6) on Mac.  Cannot print to Epson WF-3520. Photoshop quits when you hit okay to print.  Latest software has been downloaded.  Running OS X Yosemite (v 10.10.1) on iMac.

Basically - what I have written in the title - has anyone else come across this problem with the Epson/Photoshop.  Contacted Epson a while ago but they said to contact Adobe.  Any ideas or know of a plug-in that is required to solve the problem - sincerely appreciated.  Many thanks,

Here are a few things to look at. Try each step until your Epson printer works
Be sure you are updated to 13.0.6  Help > Updates
Another is to uninstall/reinstall the drivers from an administrator account to be sure proper permissions are set.
Reset prefs: Quit Photoshop, Hold down cmd-opt-shift, and start Photoshop. You will see a "delete settings" dialog. Agree and see if that fixes it.
Others have had success by selecting another printer and then going back to the Epson.

  • Cannot print to Epson Artisan 725

Okay, the first time I set this thing up I was able to print wirelessly no problem. After restart, though, it refused to print at all--not via USB, Ethernet or wireless. It does, however, scan and save to my computer just fine. Epson of course feels this is a Mac software issue. After reviewing this forum, I tried a few things that seemed relevant, including:
--downloading and installing the newest driver
--adding the printer as an IP printer
    --resetting the printing system
    --trashing the Epson library folder
--restarting in safe mode and repairing permissions
--downloading and running Printer Setup Repair
    --downloading the Gutenprint drivers
After this last, I can at least get a file to spool, but the queue says "network host is busy; will retry in 30 seconds..." When I use the old Gimp driver, it causes the printer to spit out a never-ending supply of blank pages.
It does show up when I ping it and in Bonjour.
One post mentioned 802.11g and 802.11n printing in regards to an Artisan 810, but I don't know what that means. Anyone have some other ideas? Am I just doomed?

Just checking, was this the driver you downloaded?

  • Cannot print with Epson Stylus DX 4850

I'm a new user to mac and I've endlessly tried to solve the issue with my printer.
I tried printing a word document with the epson, and I had not installed the drivers before that. It automatically gave me the option to use a gimp driver.
Now that I've tried to install the drivers from the EPSON website, it still will not allow me to choose an dx4800 series drivers from the add printer menu.
It recognizes the usb printer, but is absolutely not letting me add it because I cant find a driver for it!!! Help would be lovely.

I couldn't find the Epson USB choice.. That's the
    weird part!!
What choices do you see? Do you see EPSON FIREWIRE or EPSON TCP/IP?
Are you sure you downloaded the Intel v3.0a drivers. There is also a Mac PPC driver v2.5a which you don't want.
There have been problems with other Epson Intel drivers where the EPSON USB did not show up as a choice. I don't think I have seen it related to your model -- at least not yet.

  • Cannot print on Epson Workforce 845

Running 10.7.5 on MacBook.  Home network is Airport Extreme.  Printer working just fine until today and now for no apparent reason doesn't print from the Mac.  It will print from my iPhone and iPad so the issue isn't the network or the printer.
I have rebooted everything there is to reboot, I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Epson drivers, I have tried using the network, I have tried using the USB cable.  It still scans using ImageCapture just fine.  It also recognizes the printer, can tell ink levels etc etc etc
After the above is on the screen for ages this error message will eventually show up
    Library/Printers/EPSON/InkjetPrinter2/Filter/rastertoescpII.app/Contents/MacOS/r astertoescpII failed
I am having to save documents to dropbox, download from dropbox to my iPhone and print from my iPhone.  Help!!
Thanks in advance for any and all efforts.

Try deleting the print queue ...
Open System Preferences > Print & Scan > Print
    Click:  Open Print Queue
    Delete all jobs
Restart your Mac, turn off the printer, then turn it back on.
If that didn't help, delete the printer in the System Preferences > Print window by clicking -  (minus)
Then go to the Epson site and download fresh drivers for the Epson Workforce845
Then back to System Preferences > Print. Click + to add the printer again.
Beyond that, try the manual  >  Epson WorkForce 845, Documents & Manuals - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.

  • Cannot print on Epson C79

    Hi,
I recently bought an Epson C79 printer which I installed on a Windows Vista PC. The printer is network-shared. I was trying to install it on my MacMini but I couldn't. First I follow the simple wizard and the PC isn't there. I disabled the firewall on both PC and Mac and the PC suddendly appeared. For some reason, when prompted to type user and password to access PC, it gave me an error (password or user is incorrect). So I just left both fields blank. So the wizard now tells me I'm browsing the PC both no printer was shown. I tried to configure it through CUPS web page but apparently is disabled because it was not shown.
What can I do in order to print to the Epson?

    Hi.
You can try the advanced method: Open Printer Setup Utility/Add, click More Printers while holdind the Option key. On the Printer Browser drop down menu, select Advanced, and on Device select Windows Printing via SAMBA.
In Device name enter the printer's share name as seen on the Windows machine.
In Device URI enter the address with this format:
    smb://windowsaccount_name:password@windows_machine_ip_address/printer_sharename
or, if both machines are on the same domain or workgroup:
    smb://windowsaccount_name:password@windows_machine_dns_name/printer_sharename
On printer model, browse for the driver.

  • Cannot print to Epson SP R1800 since installing Snow Leopard! :(

Since installing OS X 10.6 (followed by the updated Epson "drivers & utilities package" plus the common updater) on my Mac Pro, I can no longer print to my Epson SP R1800 printer.
When I attempt to print from within Photoshop CS4, the Photoshop print progress bar shows the file is being sent to the printer successfully, but when the printer dialogue box evokes, the print queue remains empty...
Can anyone please offer a solution?
    Susie

I had the same issue with my R2880. Uninstall everything Epson, reboot, then re-install, preferably with the latest drivers from the Epson website. My printer is now working again, but then my systems are still not working as they should as CS4 and Bridge crash at every opportunity.
I wish I'd never installed 10.6. I'll never install a new Mac OS again without it proving itself.

  • Photoshop suddenly does not print to Epson 3880 - PROBLEM: Cannot print from Photoshop  After restart error message appears:  - "There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopen

    PROBLEM: Cannot print from Photoshop
    After restart error message appears:
    — “There was an error opening your printer. Printing functions will not be available until you have selected a printer and reopened any documents.”
    • All print commands are greyed out and unavailable — even to call up the printer commands cannot be done.
The printer printed fine until about 2 weeks ago when this error message appeared.  Printing continues from Pages, I-photo, preview etc. —  only Photoshop fails.
The printer has been turned on and off, as have open documents been closed and open etc..   Preferences reset.  Repeatedly I have read through blogs and forums and attempted to contact Adobe — all without results
Epson support struggled to find reason and several solutions were tried and they assume this is an Adobe problem.
    Running Mac Powerbook X 10.10.2 / Photoshop CS6 13.0.6.x64
Attempting unsuccessfully to print to Epson 3880
What Adobe support will be of help.

  • Cannot print a pdf off my mac 10.6.x. I can print all other files Epson printer  'Cancelling'

Cannot print any pdf from my mac to Epson printer
I can print all other files except pdf
Using the most updated Adobe Reader XI
Using the latest driver for the printer from Epson
    Using a USB cable
    Whats up?

I have the same problem, I cannot print ANY PDF file from my Mac running 10.8.5 Mountain Lion and using Adobe ReaderXI 11.0.4 I have verified that all files print properly when printed from within Preview or within Libre office. There is no option in the Mac Adobe reader to reset the installation like there is on Windows. I have also tried deleting reader completely and re-installing and the same behavior.

  • Uninstalled epson printer from control panel...installed new brother printer....now i cannot print anything .pdf old or newly downloaded

uninstalled epson printer from control panel...installed new brother printer....now i cannot print anything .pdf old or newly downloaded@

For starters, what exactly do you mean by "cannot print"?
Are you getting an error message? Are you trying to print from within Reader or are you opening these in the browser? What version of Reader. Even though it's a new printer, the drivers that came with it (or the ones that were already on your computer) may be old so, have you downloaded the most recent drivers from the Brother site?

  • Can't print borderless with my Epson 1280

I have problem printing borderless from my Powerbook to Epson 1280, using the Photoshop CS. The print preview shows the photo to be print borderless (using Epson Glossy Paper), but yet all the printout came out with est 1/4" white border.
This morning, I connected the printer to my PC, and printed the same file using Photoshop 7.0, and it came out borderless.
So, based on that, the problem is not the printer.
Has anyone experienced the same problem before?

Check with Epson support for updated drivers. Also check with Guten print (formerly known as gimp-print) support if using their drivers have any updates for borderless printers.
