Cannot print to printer on ethernet lan via wireless router

Hi,
Apple Macbook connected via Airport running class A network 10.0.0.X, which is connected to a Netgear 4 port router running class C network 192.168.0.X. Also on this class C network is a LAN network printer and a Windows PC. The Netgear router is connected to the internet and the Apple Macbook can connect to the internet and can ping the printer connected to the Netgear router, but when it sends a print job to this printer, the response is "Printer is busy. Will Retry in 30 seconds"
The windows PC can print to the network printer (both connected to the same netgear router) just fine.
the Macbook is running 10.4.11.
Please help.. and thanks in advance!

Network Printer Troubleshooting
Ping printer: If you have the printers IP address open Terminal (Applications/Utilities) and at the prompt type: ping {printerIP}. You will get a reply or failure.
If you haven't done so already, try resetting the printing system.
OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system  also Yosemite

I've been able to always print from an XP notebook, but now I can't print from an HP Win 7 64 bit notebook to a Laserjet 1022 installed on an XP desktop via wireless router. Looking for a driver that I can't find anywhere. Followed all the forum help instructions that looked like it would work to no avail. Doesn't seem to be a Win 7 64 bit driver for the 1022 model, (not 1022n).

  • Would like to print from laptop to printer at home. Printer is ethernet connected to NetGear Router

    HP PAvilion dv1000, Windows XP
Would like to print from laptop to printer at home.  Printer is ethernet connected to NetGear Router.
I had been able to print wirelessly from laptop to HP 7310 Officejet all-in-one, but now all I get is "document failed to print" message.  I can get documents to print on this printer using my smart phone, but not the laptop.
I have used "find printer" button on print screen and can see the printer to select.
    Any suggestions?

  • HP Officejet Pro 8000 Wireless: HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.

Installing new printer,  getting error msg saying HP printer unable to connect to wireless router.   MAC address filtering may be enabled on your wireless router which can prevent HP printer from connecting to your wireless network during setup.
SOLUTION says:  If MAC address filtering is enabled and you would like to keep it enabled, you must add the MAC addressof your printer to the list of permitted devices for your wireless router before continuing.
My router is WD My Net N900 Router. MAC filtering is diabled. My security mode is WPA/WPA2 Personal.
I have run out of ideas to try and fix the issues, would appreciate some help.
    Thanks,

    Hi Jamshidk
I am surprised you are getting that message and you checked the router settings and it is showing that the Mac Filtering is disabled.
I would suggest connecting the printer to the router with a ethernet cable to get a valid IP address and then setup the wireless.
    Print a configuration report.
    http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&dlc=en&docname=c01554589&lc=en&product=3760410&tmp...
Type the IP address from the configuration page  in the address bar into internet explorer browser. This will open the embedded web server for the printer. Click on the Networking tab, on the left hand side select wireless. After this is setup and applied, disconnect the ethernet cable.
Should be on the wireless network. Takes about 1 minute.
    Run the add printer wizard.
Go to start, devices and printers and select add a printer. (Win 7)
    Test the printer.

  • My HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer will not recognize my wireless router passwrd

My printer was working fine but when I turned it on today it wouldn't connect to my wireless router. I try inputing the correct password and the printer gives me this message......"the WPA security passphrase configured on your HP printer does not match your wireless router setting" .
I have entered the password several times and I know what I have entered is correct

    Hi @Southglen,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I noticed that your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer will not recognize your wireless router password. I am sorry to hear this, but happy to help!
I would recommend to go through this guide, How to Find the WEP or WPA Key or Password for Your Wireless Network, just to double-check your wireless password, in case it might have changed.
I would also suggest a hard reset, by going to this post How to perform a Hard Reset, by @Rich1.
After those two steps, I would suggest a firmware update, Getting Printer Updates for HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911), Officejet 6600 (H711) and Officejet 6700 P....
Let's start with these steps, and we will go from there!

My HP Photosmart C309a series printer can't find the wireless router 3 feet above it.  I ran the diagnostics and got "The wireless radio is not functioning" message.  In what device is the wireless radio located?  In the router? In the printer?  I reset the router, did the #6 with the printer, but I am still unable to connect my wireless Macbook to the printer.  My desktop Mac is connected to the printer with a cable and prints fine.  Is my router messed up or my printer?

I want to buy an hp m1536 laserjet for my ipad printing, I believe the printer is not wireless but has sprint. Is the print job going through my wireless router and does that router need to support AirPrint.

The following model is airprint compatible, is this the one you have?
    HP LaserJet Pro M1536dnf MFP
If not the "dnf MFP" model, then no.
The router needs to support the Bonjour protocol.  If not, the airprint won't work.

Only Chrome can connect to internet, but the rest cannot.  I have wifi or lan connect to router.
All my connection to the internet had been stopped after I setup my new bought imac, and transferred data from my previous mac book.
The connect test showed I have no connection to the internet.  But the interest is, I can connect to internet with Google Chrome, but in a quite slow connection speed.
Check several times with the router and switches, DNS, wifi, lan settings etc.
Give up after hours of trying.

At the same time, another mac book using the same router can connect to the internet.  Even my iphone can also using wifi to connect to the internet.
Chrome in the imac can, but Safari and the internet test cannot.

  • How to setup and print USB001 via wireless router

Hello,My printer M1136 MFP was able print via usb001 port on RT_N13U_b1 wireless router..this enable me to scan and print without any queue print errors..Now the problem is.. due to recent system setup i removed the printer and tried to re-add. Now am not able to print via usb001 errors but direct usb hardconnect to my system can print and scan ..I've forgotten the steps in the first place how i did the set-up  by chance to print via usb001 on wireless router. TCP/IP print works but with queue errors more than 3+ print jobs. I want to setup to print via usb001 through my wireless router, so that i can do a scan wirelessly since tcp/ip always gives error due to multiple queues....but didnt encounter any queue errors on usb001 setup. How can i setup to print via usb001 on my wireless router?

Hi , Welcome to the HP Forums! I noticed that you cannot setup your HP Laserjet Pro m1136MFP on Windows 7. I am happy to look into this for you!  According to your printer's specifications, and page 39, of your printer's user guide, states this printer can only be direcly connected to the computer with the USB printer cable. The M1210 Series Laserjet, can connect to a network but not the M1136 MFP Laserjet printer.  Hope this answers your question, and have a nice day!  “Please click the Thumbs up icon below to thank me for responding.”

  • Problem with Printing via Wireless Router - Samsung scx4300

    Hi! I need your help:
I'm trying to install a new printer (samsung SCX 4300), via a wireless router (IP:192.168.0.1) but when adding it, it looks inactive and I'm nit able to print. Like if IP address is occupied. I use lpd + Ip address but Print and Fax system doesn't find it. I've already installed the most recent drivers. Any solutions?
    Many thanks for your time!

    HI,
Try here: Mac OS X v10.6: Printer and scanner software
    Repair disk permissions.
Quit any open applications/programs. Launch Disk Utility. (Applications/Utilities) Select MacintoshHD in the panel on the left, select the FirstAid tab. Click: Repair Disk Permissions. When it's finished from the Menu Bar, Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac. If you see a long list of "messages" in the permissions window, it's ok. That can be ignored. As long as you see, "Permissions Repair Complete" when it's finished... you're done. Quit Disk Utility and restart your Mac.

  • Epson 635 printer won't install via wireless with Mountain Lion

I am helping a friend with the upgrade to Mountain Lion and She has a giant desktop which I think is a MacPro but I'm not sure. Anyway everything works fine except now her Epson 635 printer won't see the wireless network. To me this seems like a router problem but all other computers see the network via the router. Also, this only happened with this upgrade. We've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, drivers, etc and still no go. Forgive me if my lingo is off but I am a tad new to Mac.  Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

Here's a "Print 101" guide for Mac computers:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4670
I believe that you're talking about an Epson WorkForce 635, which I'm quite sure Apple supports because they support the WorkForce 630 [series].
So try removing the printer from the MacBook and re-installing it per the guide.
P.S.: I'm running a WorkForce 645 printer just fine from Mountain Lion.

  • USB printer via wireless router

    Hi All
I'm not exactly a newbie, however, this is a completely newbie question as far as what I know how to do. I've got TP-Link plugs connecting my PC, my daughters TalkTalk TV and my wireless router. Along with that the wireless router connects my wife and daughter's 'phone, tablet, laptop etc. Pretty standard setup and it works fine.
Where the issue comes is that I only have USB printers (Canon MP270 and HP F2180). Unfortunately neither of them are network enabled i.e. they lack a CAT5 socket, so I can't connect them via TP-Link plugs or equivalent. Ideally, because I have a couple of spare wireless routers, I'd like to be able to plug a second wireless router into the network and then access a printer, which would hang off the back, via any device in the house. This would mean that my PC doesn't have to be on whenever they want to use a printer. I did setup a server but they didn't like the messing about having to switch it on.
I can't hang the printer off the main router because my wife would never let me have a printer in the living room! I also can't move the router to my office because I don't have a telephone socket. Hence, the idea of using a second router to get a printer onto the network, via a TP_Link plug - I've experimented and I can sort of get it to work - seems a great solution. If only I knew how!
I'm asking in the Arch forum for a couple of darn good reasons: Archers tend to know more than anyone else in my opinion and the Arch Forum is the best there is (not brown nosing, it's just true).
So, a) is it possible and b) How do I, roughly, go about it?
    Thanks
    Richard

czubek wrote:Qinohe had a good suggestion with the RPi. It has two usb ports. One could serve the printer and the other a usb wifi dongle. I have an RPi for my print server but it is hard wired to my router.
Using a RPI has another advantage, you could setup SANE to act as a server together with xinetd, that way everybody in the house can use the scanner too, could be a lot of walking, though
I seldom use the scanner, so I decided to keep that one local, on the PI.
    Btw. Mine is also hardwired..

  • Printer can't find my wireless router

My printer was working fine until I printed something from my laptop?  Since then I cannot print anything from any device.  I ran a wireless network test report and a HP Network Configuration page and the error message says "Your HP Printer cannot find your wireless router.  Check that your wireless router is powered on (which it is).  Check that your HP printer network name (SSID) matches your wireless router name name (SSID) exactly.  If they don't match exactly, run the wireless network setup to configure your HP printer.
    Please help.
    Thank you!

    Hey @gppapi,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I would like to assist you today with resolving the network communication issue that you're experiencing when printing from your Mac OS X 10.6 computer to your HP Photosmart C4780 All-in-One Printer. Because your Wireless Network Test Report indicates that the printer cannot find the Wireless Router, I am going to have you run some standard network troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue.
    Step 1: Powercycle Network:
First, unplug the power cable to your Router
Once your Router is unplugged, turn off your printer
    Next, shut down your computer
After 30 seconds to 1 minutes, plug your Router back in
    Next, turn on your printer
    Turn on the computer
After a few moments the internet connection will return. Please check on your computer and verify that you can browse to websites before continuing.
    Step 2: Check Connectivity:
On the front panel of your printer select the Top button to go to the Scan Options
Press the Top Button to go to the Wireless Menu
    Select Print Network Configuration
Take note of the IP Address
On your Mac, open the internet browser
In the address bar type in the printers IP Address. Do not include www.
    Search to that website
If a website for you printer opens: This indicates that your printer and computer are 'talking' over the wireless network. Please try to print. If printing now works, than your router was blocking communication. This may have been caused by a router update. Usually powercycling the router resolves this issue. Should the issue return, there may be settings on the router that need to be adjusted.
If a website for your printer fails to open: This indicates that the printer and computers are not 'talking' over the network. To resolve this issue please follow the steps below.
    Step 2: Restore Defaults:
On the front panel of your printer select the Top button to go to the Scan Options
Press the Top Button to go to the Wireless Menu
    Select Restore Network Defaults
Once the restore is complete, please proceed to the next step.
    Step 3: Reconfigure Wireless:
Connect a USB Cable from your printer to your Mac
Please click here to download the latest drivers for your printer
Run the installation and when prompted choose that you want to configure wireless
Select your Network Name SSID and enter the Wireless Password (key) when/if prompted
Once the wireless is configured, please test printing again.
Please let me know if these troubleshooting steps resolve your issue. Good luck!
