Cannot print to psc 1210v all-in-one from users

Only the administrator login is able to print to the psc 1210v, in Windows XP MCE.  When regular user tries to print to the psc 1210v, the print job appears in the printer que, but shortly just disappears.

How I resolved the issue was to change other "User" account type, temporarily to "Administrator" and updated the printer driver from within Device Manager.  I also changed, within Windows Group Policy Editor (gpedit.msc), the Load/Unload Device Drivers permissions (Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > User Rights Assignment) to include "Users" group rights, in hope this will resolve this problem again in the future.
I think that, because this Group Policy setting was restricted to Administrators group that it prevented the USB printer driver from installing properly in anyone's login that is part of the Users group.  So, though the HP all-in-one software was installed for all users, the USB drivers were not.  I found this by clicking on the printer driver "Details" from a "Users" login, from within Device Manager, which stated that no drivers were installed or found.

  • Does the hp psc 1210v all-in-one have the ability to print back to front?

My hp psc 1210v all-in-one is still working and it is driving me crazy that this printer doesn't have the ability to print back to front. I am also upset that there is no software to print double sided like with the newer hp printers.
Is it just me or would this printer be perfect if it had these features?
    This question was solved.

Printing back to front is actually a feature of the software you are using.  You can do this in Word on your printer now.  This link will go into more detail: "Printing Back to Front."
Lastly, two-sided printing is an accessory part that you put on the back of the printer to make it turn (called a duplexer). Once again, not a feature that can be added to a driver, or this printer for that matter.  Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but on the plus side, at the HP Parts Store, there are enough parts for this printer, you could keep it running for decades.
I am glad you like it.

    Hi Forum,
I have a HP F4580 All-in-one printer/scanner which worked fine on my old laptop with windows vista.

It's plugged via usb and its has been setup on the Mac through the System Preferences and Printer & Scanners icon but when you click print on the document you want the little printer icon pops up on the dock at the bottom but the printer never prints anything!!
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or if it evens works through OSX.

    No problem!
I would recommend repairing the disk permissions on your computer by following this Apple document here. Once this is complete, make sure your Apple updates are complete by following this Apple document here.
Now, I would reset the printing system on your computer. Please follow this Apple document here. If your USB connection isn't responding correctly, then follow this Apple document on USB: Troubleshooting Error Messages. I will be looking forward to hearing from you again!

  • HP PSC 1315xi All in One from 32-bit XP to FULL FEATURE for 64-bit Windows 7

Switched from 32-bit XP to 64-bit Windows 7,  which did not install all  printing features or my scanner.     Know a  lot  of  people  have  this  problem, can't  find the forum  which is exactly  for  this  particular  problem,  and can't find  an  HP download.  There are so many other companies on the HP Support  pages.  Might you  include on your title page how to re-read  this subject?
I'm afraid I'll lose my print and copy functions forever if I  first Uninstall.  Would checking "Add Printer"  preserve  my present  version  until after I  get a  successful  download  or  maybe even  a  new Disk  for  64-bit Windows 7?   I  haven't even  found that  yet.  Thanks. • Hp psc 1110 all-in-one printer-copier-scanner

Recently I've been experiencing a problem with my printer (hp psc 1110 all in one):  it will print fine, then suddenly it will not print even though the print job is listed in the que.  If you turn the printer on and off, it will then "flash" in the system tray, but still won't print.  I've tried restarting the print job, deleting the print job, etc. but nothing will make it print except to restart the computer.  Then it repeats again where it will print a job or two then stop.  I've checked connections, and unloading and reloading the drivers, but none of that helps.  This is a great little printer -- I'm thinking it may have to do with the computer?  It is connectly locally to a stationary, but we can also print wireless from several laptops.  Has previously been working great, until just recently.
Hope there is an easy fix.

    thank you so much

I think you might have installed Old HP SW that is not compatible with 10.6.x. You have 3 choices:
    - Delete all the HP SW you installed. The in system prefs, re-add the printer. 10.6 will download the drivers you need.
    - Delete all the HP SW you installed. Download the drivers manually from Apple. (http://support.apple.com/kb/dl907) Install them.
    - Visit HP's web site and download 10.6 compatible drivers.
Note to everyone, over 2000 drivers are built into the OS. If they work, don;t install older SW on top of them. The list of built-in drivers is here: http://support.apple.com/kb/ht3669

  • Hp psc 1110 all-in-one

    My printer : hp psc 1110 all-in-one
When I switch on the printer the power to the printer just comes and goes off immediately. Tried the steps as in the video , but no solution. What should I do. Do you have online chat for help ?

    Hi @BHUCH,
    Welcome to the HP Forums
The first thing I'd suggest you try is plugging the printer directly to a wall outlet. If it's already in one, please try a different outlet in the kitchen (they generally are the most powerful). Even the best power bars and surge protectors limit the power the printer gets.
Also try completely unplugging the printer, from the rear of the printer, the wall outlet and the adapter. Leave everything detached for at least 1 minute. While the printer is completely unplugged try pressing and holding the printer's power button for about 10-15 seconds to make sure any power it's holding is drained.
If the printer is still turning off, check the power adapter on the printer's power cord (the brick piece) and see if there is an LED light on it at all. If there is an LED does it turn on when the printer is plugged in?
Let me know how this goes for you

    I do have a question about a printer HP PSC 2355p All-In-One.
I want to print some photo's that are stored on my PC.
I want them in A5 paper format for my Photo Gallery.
Does someone know how this can be done?

Correct, you will need to use that particular kind of paper, or it will give you a "PAPER MISMATCH" error. In that selection, whatever paper size you choose, you will need that type of paper in the printer. If you want to print the photos on regular 8.5 x 11, you can just choose LETTER.

  • Windows RT and HP PSC 1510 All-in-One printer connection

Hi, I have a Windows 8.1 RT tablet (Microsoft Surface 2) and a wired HP PSC 1510 All-in-One printer. Now when I plug in the printer via the USB, there is no driver that can be found to make this printer work with my device. Anyone have this problem or any solutions? I've tried looking at HP support and nothing there has been helpful.
Let me add that on the Microsoft Surface, you cannot run .EXE files which are the file types of the HP drivers.
    Thanks ahead

  • Does hp support a HP psc 1500 all in one printer

I can not print in black.  I've re uninstalled and re installed my printer at least 6 times,  can not find my printer which is a HP  psc 1500 all in one listed therefore I used software for 1510 all in one.  It prints all text in light blue.  I've tried changing my printing preferences many different ways.  Nothing seems to correct this problem.  I've run a test page and it printed  two lines in black( black print read HP PSC 1500 series and my serial number on the second line)  and 3 color blocks and the rest was small squares and small lines in 3 columns. My frustration level is at an all time high.  I've literally spent an entire day trying to fix this problem.  Please help before I do something RASH.  Thank You, Greta2

    Hey @greta2,
Welcome to the HP Support Forum.  I understand you're having a print quality issue with your HP PSC 1500 All-in-One Printer.  I would like to assist you in resolving this and have some steps that may improve your print quality.  You were correct in using the 1510 All-in-One drivers as they are compatible with your printer.  Additionally, you were very diligent in approaching the problem from a software perspective - this rules out printer settings as being the most likely cause of the absence of black ink in your printouts.
From what you're describing with the test-page printout, I would recommend that you troubleshoot the issue at the hardware level.  For starters, click on the following article heading and work your way through Steps 2 through 6 to better diagnose the issue:
    Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors
As I suspect your print diagnostic page (Steps 3-6) will be lacking black ink in some parts as before, proceed with the following steps:
Run the clean print cartridges utility
Open the Printer Toolbox. There are two ways to do this:
Open HP Director (or HP Solution Center), select the Settings menu, then the Print Settings submenu, and finally the Printer Toolbox.
Open Printers and Faxes in the Windows Control Panel, then right-click your printer icon and choose Properties. Click on Printing Preferences. Click the Services tab, then the Service This Device icon.
The Printer Toolbox opens. On the Device Services tab, click Clean the Print Cartridges , then follow the on-screen instructions. Up to three levels of cleaning are available. Discard or recycle the page that prints.
    Clean the contacts
Gather the following items to clean the cartridge and carriage:
Clean distilled water. Use bottled or filtered water if distilled water is not available. Tap water can contain contaminants that damage the cartridge.
Clean cotton swabs or any soft, lint-free material that will not stick to the cartridges (coffee filters work well).
Sheets of paper or a paper towel to rest the cartridge on during cleaning.
Open the cartridge access door and wait until the carriage is idle and silent.
Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
Remove the cartridge and place it on a piece of paper with the nozzle plate facing up.
NOTE:Do not leave the cartridges outside of the printer for more than 30 minutes. If the cartridge is outside of the printer for too long, the ink can dry and clog the nozzles.
Dip a clean foam-rubber swab or lint-free cloth into distilled water, and then squeeze any excess water from it.
    Clean only the copper-colored contacts
    Figure : Clean the contacts
    Copper-colored contacts
    Ink nozzles (do not clean)
Repeat these steps for the other cartridge.
Lightly moisten another cotton swab with distilled water, and then squeeze any excess water from the swab.
Use the swab to clean the electrical contacts in the carriage, located inside the printer on the carriage slots.
Figure : The electrical contacts in the cartridge slots
Wait 10 minutes to allow the cartridge and carriage electrical contacts to dry.
    Reinstall the cartridges.
    Close the cartridge access door.
Reconnect the power cord to the back of the printer.
Press the Power button to turn on the printer.
    Try to print a page.
If you are still unable to print, repeat these steps to clean and reseat the cartridges. Multiple cleanings might be necessary to restore printing.
Black cartridges only: remove and rest for two hours
NOTE:The procedure below will not fix missing lines or streaked bars printed by the tri-color, photo, or gray photo cartridges, or other color printing problems. Only perform the steps below if the black print cartridge has printed defective patterns, or if you notice non-uniform black text darkness.
In the black print cartridge, this problem may be caused by sediments collecting in the nozzle area. Follow the steps below to solve this problem:
    Remove the black print cartridge.
If the carriage has a latch, relatch it and then close the printer - this is important. If the printer is not closed, it cannot adequately protect the remaining tri-color cartridge.
Place the cartridge on a level surface with the nozzles up (label down).
Figure : Cartridge with the nozzles up
Allow the cartridge to sit undisturbed for two hours.
Reinstall the cartridge and print another self test page.
Click the Windows Start button, then click Control Panel.
Double-click the Printer and Faxes folder.
Right-click the icon for your printer and choose Preferences.
Choose the Services tab and click Service this Device. The printer Toolbox opens.
On the Devices Services tab, click Print a Diagnostic Page.
Look for defects on the page.
If the self test page shows no defects for the black cartridge, and if the cartridge was new, align the cartridge. To align the cartridge, follow the steps below:
    Load fresh, white paper.
Click the Windows Start button, then click Control Panel.
Double-click the Printer and Faxes folder.
Right-click the icon for your printer and choose Preferences.
Choose the Services tab and click Service this Device. The printer Toolbox opens.
On the Device Services tab, click Align the Printer.
If the cartridge was not new, there is no reason to align the printer.
If the page still shows defects, go to the next step.
    Replace the problem cartridge
If a cartridge replacement was not tried previously to solve this problem, replace the problem cartridge now. Click here (c00206040) (in English) to see if the cartridge is covered under warranty.
