Cannot Print with my Epson Printers

I am unable to print from my Epson 2200 (firewire) or 1270 (USB), though I used to have no problem. I have engaged Epson in my struggle to correct it, and they have finally "given up" on me. But I know several things from working with them over the past 2 weeks:
-It is not the printers, they work fine.
-It is not the cables or where the cables are connected. I have used both firewire and USB with the 2200.
-The Epson Printer Utility only works sporadically. It mostly hangs up (multicolored spinning wheel) when I want to do a nozzle check, will not force quit, and even doesn't allow me to shut down computer. There doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason as to when it will or will not work.
-I have removed epson files and reinstalled drivers using OS 10.4 install disk.
-When I go to print, the "job" shows up in the queue, but will not print.
I Hope some genius out there has an answer.

I am having the same problem with my HP LaserJet 1200. It worked fine up until installing the new Security Update. I don't know if this is just coincidence, or not. I even tried printing from my pristine Test user account, and it also just shows a progress bar that keeps spinning, saying Printing Job, but nothing happens. Please help.

I had talked with three people at Apple tech support on the phone, one person in the Apple store in Indianapolis, plus the other places I mentioned. Only the one young man in the Apple store was even able to identify the problem which was the POP vs. IMAP issue. And then like you said he was only able to say he hoped it would be fixed in the next update release. I did call him back this morning and told him about your simple solution, that I had seen it at the Apple forum, and that he might suggest bringing this topic up at the next staff meeting. I also let my Verizon rep know and an agent at Comcast. Something so simple yet it took three days and a lot of frustration to get fixed. Thanks again. You're my hero! ~ Carol Thomas
Also forgot to mention ... I got the iPhone 6 Plus about three weeks ago and did not have this problem. But I did a backup of my iPhone 5S on the computer and then used that backup to restore to my new iPhone. The iPad I did differently and just set it up as a new iPad with no restoring from the old one. That must have made a difference on the phone because it was set up just like the 5S ... as a POP3.

Cannot Print with Acrobat Standard X

One of my clients is running ACROBAT X Standard on Windowes 7 64-bit.. She cannot print any PDF using Acrobat to any printer. Print jobs never reach the queue. As a work around she muct convert to Word.
Printing as image does not help.
Saving a copy does not help.
I have applied al updates, repaired and completely removed and re-installed the product but nothing helps.
Also, the Printer Properties button and Page Setup buttons do not work. They are not disabled (greyed out), they just don't launch these functions.
I appreciate any help!

Hi I use windows and the Reader version I have is Adobe X1. And yes - I cannot even open Adobe Reader and yes I reinstalled it.

Cannot print with Reader XI

I cannot print with Reader XI. It keeps telling me I have not marked any pages to print even though I have. I finally had to uninstall Reader XI and open the pdf file through Google Chrome. What's the point to having Adobe Reader at all?

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Cannot print with Cannon LBP5000 and Timecapsule

So I've read that the Cannon LBP5000 is not compatible after all with Time Capsule. Due to the CAPT Driver being bi-directional. I do not accept this as a resolution and feel that Apple cannot simply push this aside. My reason for that is this.
I was printing fine, with both my MBP and Air via a USB cable to my Cannon LBP5000 - great.
I then decided to go wireless printing. And bought a HP 2101nw print server for £30. I could then print wirelessly - fab!
I then decided to upgrade my MBP to Lion. I then could no longer print on that machine. Air still fine - pants.
I then had to (for other support reasons) upgrade my Air to Lion, to fix something else. I could no longer print from their either - bugger.
After much passing of bucks and research, I found out the HP 2101nw driver is not Lion compatible, nor do Apple or HP have any intention of fixing that. I was told to discard that wireless print server for something compatible with Lion - cheers.
I then bought a 2TB TimeCapsule. And found I couldnt print from that either for the lame reason I quoted at the start.
If this print worked wirelessley with a £30 print server on Snow Lepoard, why is it acceptable for it to not work on a £249 device. The printer hasnt changed, but it seemed a £30 solution is able to handle this 'Bi-Directional' impediment where the mighty TimeCapsule gives up.
What a load of tosh - really, really unimpressed Apple. Take ownership and responsiblity for something for once and fix the exceptionally painful transistion you pushed us through with Lion.

Cannot print with hp 2600n through network

I installed Leopard on my two month old Imac(latest model) with no real glitches and thought all was fine until I tried printing with my HP color laserjet 2600n through my network.
I get my network showing up as guest sharing(not logging me in under my name) and even though I could print fine with Tiger, I cannot print with Leopard. The request shows up in the print queue but does not print.
Any advice would be appreciated. I was never prompted before for a password everytime I printed and was always logged in to my network and not a guest sharing before. I know I'm missing something here but everything else transferred over fine from Tiger but the printer is a mystery.

Try resetting the base station that your printer USB is plugged into.

I cannot print with my all-in-one because I have a print-job in th queue, and when I attempt to cancel it , it simply will not cancel, but remains in the queue. I think this happened when I was printing from the internet and a nearby lightning stike disrupted the printing.

All of a sudden I cannot print to my Epson Sylus 2200 Printer. I am running OSX 10.8.5 and have been using the Epson driver 9.0. I have checked for software dates and there are none. I have unplugged and replugged. Printing with Photoshop CS4 with Older Epson Printers

I am looking at upgrading to Snow Leopard, but having had some trouble with Leopard and CS4 working well with my older Epson printers (Stylus Pro 4000 and Stylus 1280) I am somewhat hesitant. Has it been established that the older Epson printers are fully supported by Snow Leopard?

I am about to install CS4 with OS 10.5.8. Before I get in to a new set of issues, I thought I would post what currently is working for me with CS3. I have been using Gutenprint 5.2.4 to print to my ancient but beloved Epson Pro 9500. When I first tried Gutenprint 5.2.4 with the basic settings, the prints were washed out and pink.It took me two weeks of trial and error in terms of tweaking settings, but I am now able to get better prints than with the old Epson driver that only runs in OS 9, using PS7--but I still keep a G4 with true 0S 9 to print photos to maintain consistency with previous printed work that has been editioned and sold. What forced my move to OS X and Gutenprint was that new photos that I had worked on in PS CS3 and then opened in PS7 did not print--or rather, lost info and then printed as dark green, which others have mentioned elsewhere in discussions of OS and software compatibility issues. Photos that were originally worked on in PS CS2 or earlier are still printing just fine, so in my case at least it appears to be a compatibilty issue between different versions of the PS software that is producing the green. You have to let the printer control the process, not Photoshop.

Cannot print with Epson Stylus DX 4850

I'm a new user to mac and I've endlessly tried to solve the issue with my printer.
I tried printing a word document with the epson, and I had not installed the drivers before that. It automatically gave me the option to use a gimp driver.
Now that I've tried to install the drivers from the EPSON website, it still will not allow me to choose an dx4800 series drivers from the add printer menu.
It recognizes the usb printer, but is absolutely not letting me add it because I cant find a driver for it!!! Help would be lovely.

Are you sure you downloaded the Intel v3.0a drivers. There is also a Mac PPC driver v2.5a which you don't want.
There have been problems with other Epson Intel drivers where the EPSON USB did not show up as a choice. I don't think I have seen it related to your model -- at least not yet.

The printer works great but I have a color tint i my greyscael images. I would like to print only usig the black inks. when I go to

Print mode should give you choice of Color or Black. Black means black ink only.
This will not give you a good looking print as it will be grainy and hard to control.
Consider using Quadtone RIP which will incorporate all needed colors to create a proper grayscale print with proper tones.
Quadtone RIP will probably offer the needed settings for this but it might require finding some files on the net.
Imageprint RIP is very good for this but is quite expensive.

I cannot print with CS5

I cannot print from CS5 for several weeks now.
I've tried everything I found on forum : upgrade printers drivers (I've got two printers), removed the printer from the computer and reinstalled, change the name of the printers, upgrade Photoshop (it was allready uptodate). I can print from any other software without any trouble.
Sometime, it will let me print one copy of a file for not apparent reason and then back to square one.
I'm on Windows XP (uprgraded everything I could on this too).
I've got two printers a samsung CLP-315 and an Epson Stylus c68 that work perfectly with other software. I have to convert my files in jpg and then print with another software... so then I can forget about color management!
I also tried the work around seen in the forum, printing from the preview from the printer but mine does not offer that option.
I don't know what to try anymore and find that really frustrating! Any help will be more then welcome!

Certainly, the article you linked to lists the first things anyone here would tell you to try. Is there a reason you stopped after only the first two? The two I would try next are; resetting your preferences and, failing that, uninstalling then reinstalling the priner on that computer.

Laserjet 1020. Cannot print with Internet Explorer 9

I have downloaded the latest Microsoft Internet Explorer 9 and now find that I cannot print emails with my HP Laserjet 1020. Previously when using IE8 printing was OK. I use Windows Live Mail and Windows Vista as my OS. I also have an Epson printer that works OK with IE9 and Live Mail but the HP does not. I would like to keep IE9 if possible

It sounds like you might be selecting properties instead of "printer properties".
Double check and make sure that you're selecting "printer properties" from the list.
