Cannot print with Reader XI

I cannot print with Reader XI. It keeps telling me I have not marked any pages to print even though I have. I finally had to uninstall Reader XI and open the pdf file through Google Chrome. What's the point to having Adobe Reader at all?

Repair Adobe Reader, Help (Menu) -> Repair Installation.
Solution 2 :-
Try to print as Image, Quick fix | Print PDF as image | Acrobat, Reader
Solution 3 :-
Update the printer driver, please refer to this KB doc. for the troubleshooting steps Troubleshoot PDF printing | Acrobat, Reader

Cannot print with Reader 8.1.1 - But other (pdf) software can !

I opened a pdf document with Acrobat Reader v8.1.1 and tried to print it.
When I click OK in the print dialog then
immediately a dialog pops up informing me:
"Unable to start print job. Is printer available?"
Of cause it is available. I just selected it in the drop down menu!
I tried to start the print several times - without success.
The same bug occurs with other printers I selected.
So it must be a general printer recognition problem from Reader.
On the other side I can print the same pdf (and others) on the Laserprinter from other tools (e.g. from FoxIt Pdf tool).
So this must be a bug in Reader. Why does Reader recognize but not start the printers ?

1. Open Browser---
2. Type in "WINDOWS INSTALLER CLEANUP UTILITY"----CLICK
3. When results appear-Look for "support,Microsoft.com DESCRIPTION OF WINDOWS INSTALLER CLEANUP UTILITY"-----CLICK
4. When Page opens,scroll down to "Download the Windows Installer Cleanup Package Now"------CLICK
(You can read instructions or not)
5. When "File Download -Security Warning" box appears----CLICK-"RUN"
6. After download completes--Open "PROGRAMS" and look for "Window Install Cleanup"-----CLICK
7. When box opens look for 8.1.1 or any "Adobe Reader" and CLICK (HIGHLIGHT)
CAUTION------DO NOT HIGHLIGHT ANY OTHER PROGRAM----CAUTION
8. AT BOTTOM OF "BOX"---CLICK "REMOVE"
9 Go back to "CONTROL PANEL"-"ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS", Adobe Reader should have been removed
10. Now-Download "Adobe Reader 8.1.2"

Cannot Print with Acrobat Standard X

One of my clients is running ACROBAT X Standard on Windowes 7 64-bit.. She cannot print any PDF using Acrobat to any printer. Print jobs never reach the queue. As a work around she muct convert to Word.
Printing as image does not help.
Saving a copy does not help.
I have applied al updates, repaired and completely removed and re-installed the product but nothing helps.
Also, the Printer Properties button and Page Setup buttons do not work. They are not disabled (greyed out), they just don't launch these functions.
I appreciate any help!

Hi I use windows and the Reader version I have is Adobe X1. And yes - I cannot even open Adobe Reader and yes I reinstalled it.

I have Mavericks installed. Cannot print with IPhoto because there are no themes

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2. Download it from the App Store to reinstall It's on your Purchases List* there.
For older versions that have been installed from Disk you'll need these additional steps:
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 or later they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
*Sometimes iPhoto is not visible on the Purchases List. it may be hidden. See this article for details on how to unhide it.

One question often asked: Will I lose my Photos if I reinstall?
iPhoto the application and the iPhoto Library are two different parts of the iPhoto programme. So, reinstalling the app should not affect the Library. BUT you should always have a back up before doing this kind of work. Always.

Cannot print with Cannon LBP5000 and Timecapsule

So I've read that the Cannon LBP5000 is not compatible after all with Time Capsule. Due to the CAPT Driver being bi-directional. I do not accept this as a resolution and feel that Apple cannot simply push this aside. My reason for that is this.
I was printing fine, with both my MBP and Air via a USB cable to my Cannon LBP5000 - great.
I then decided to go wireless printing. And bought a HP 2101nw print server for £30. I could then print wirelessly - fab!
I then decided to upgrade my MBP to Lion. I then could no longer print on that machine. Air still fine - pants.
I then had to (for other support reasons) upgrade my Air to Lion, to fix something else. I could no longer print from their either - bugger.
After much passing of bucks and research, I found out the HP 2101nw driver is not Lion compatible, nor do Apple or HP have any intention of fixing that. I was told to discard that wireless print server for something compatible with Lion - cheers.
I then bought a 2TB TimeCapsule. And found I couldnt print from that either for the lame reason I quoted at the start.
If this print worked wirelessley with a £30 print server on Snow Lepoard, why is it acceptable for it to not work on a £249 device. The printer hasnt changed, but it seemed a £30 solution is able to handle this 'Bi-Directional' impediment where the mighty TimeCapsule gives up.
What a load of tosh - really, really unimpressed Apple. Take ownership and responsiblity for something for once and fix the exceptionally painful transistion you pushed us through with Lion.

Cannot print with all-in-one

I cannot print with my all-in-one because I have a print-job in th queue, and when I attempt to cancel it , it simply will not cancel, but remains in the queue. I think this happened when I was printing from the internet and a nearby lightning stike disrupted the printing.

Have you tried to shut down the computer and printer and then turning them on again??

Cannot print with hp 2600n through network

I installed Leopard on my two month old Imac(latest model) with no real glitches and thought all was fine until I tried printing with my HP color laserjet 2600n through my network.
I get my network showing up as guest sharing(not logging me in under my name) and even though I could print fine with Tiger, I cannot print with Leopard. The request shows up in the print queue but does not print.
Any advice would be appreciated. I was never prompted before for a password everytime I printed and was always logged in to my network and not a guest sharing before. I know I'm missing something here but everything else transferred over fine from Tiger but the printer is a mystery.

It sounds like you might be selecting properties instead of "printer properties".
Double check and make sure that you're selecting "printer properties" from the list.

Cannot print with a windows 7 connected printer

Mac Book Pro 13'' Mac OS 10.6.4, windows 7 hosting a Deskjet F370 (F300 series) and there is NO WAY i can print from the mac to the windws connected printer.
1- Printing sharing enabled,
2- LPD & LPR protocols enabled,
3- homegroup disabled,
4- file sharing works via SMB like a charm,
5- password protected sharing disabled.
I think i'm not forgetting anything. When I try to add the printer in my mac -
Sys pref > Print&fax > add > advanced > method 1: LPD/LPR > lpd://IP/ShareName
method 2: Windows > smb:// > I always select the driver F300 from the list (no gutenprint available). Finally the printer is added to the list after a long wait, but it doesn't work in any way. Please......help, thanks!

I install the three packages in the website you provided and tried again with the new driver, i still cannot print.
Somehow i found two print jobs in the Window's queue, couldn't print them, i thought they belonged to the new driver session, but since i coulnd't get to add new jobs in the queue again i don't know anymore, In the mac i've tried it as a registered user and guest, no difference, it asks for password, i provided it and it keeps waiting for authentication (On hold, authentication required), i even removed the password from my administrator account in windows and nothing.
if i go to job info in the mac it tells me among other things:
Status: On Hold (Authentication required)
Job message: Session setup failed: NTSTATUS_INVALIDPARAMETER
Don't know what to do.

Cannot print with HP Officejet 6100 with latest version of Firefox

Since I received the latest version of Firefox I cannot print anything that's online. I'm using Windows 7.

Thank you for your help. When I try the "reset firefox printer setting" and type "print" in the search field, I get the settings for the two previous computers and the current one. If I type "print-printer", I get a blank page. Also the menu button disappears. If I click on the setting, "delete" is not one of the options. If I try to"reset all firefox printer setting" and click on "show folder" under application basics, a list of files and folders opens. the prefs.js file is only 23KB (JScript Script File) long and cannot be opened, so I cannot remove any lines that start with "print".

Can't print with Reader 10.1.4

Since downloading an update to Reader on Aug 24, i can no longer print (wirelessly) a PDF from Reader. My current version is 10.1.4. ALL of my other printing works with all other applications. Only problem seems to be with Reader. I have uninstalled reader and re-installed. Still bad.

I had the same exact issue. When I went to uninstall Adobe I received a message that I first had to close "Microsoft Windows Search Filter Host." This led me to believe there was some kind of conflict between the two. I went to services.msc and stopped the service called Windows Search and then tried printing from Adobe. All of a sudden it worked. I went back in and started the service again and was still able to print. I hope this is what you're dealing with as well and can utilize the same fix. Nothing else worked for me.

I cannot print with CS5

I cannot print from CS5 for several weeks now.
I've tried everything I found on forum : upgrade printers drivers (I've got two printers), removed the printer from the computer and reinstalled, change the name of the printers, upgrade Photoshop (it was allready uptodate). I can print from any other software without any trouble.
Sometime, it will let me print one copy of a file for not apparent reason and then back to square one.
I'm on Windows XP (uprgraded everything I could on this too).
I've got two printers a samsung CLP-315 and an Epson Stylus c68 that work perfectly with other software. I have to convert my files in jpg and then print with another software... so then I can forget about color management!
I also tried the work around seen in the forum, printing from the preview from the printer but mine does not offer that option.
I don't know what to try anymore and find that really frustrating! Any help will be more then welcome!

Certainly, the article you linked to lists the first things anyone here would tell you to try. Is there a reason you stopped after only the first two? The two I would try next are; resetting your preferences and, failing that, uninstalling then reinstalling the priner on that computer.

Printing is a snap with an open network, however when I imposed wpa2 on my apple extreme router,the printing stopped. I am running os10.6.2, macbook pro 5.3, 2.8 ghz, 8 mb ram. I can still print with other computers on my network NOT running wpa2. What is the barrier to my brother hl 5250DN network printer?
